<br />
<a href="http://autoblog.com/make/mazda">Mazda</a> says there's a little bit of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/infiniti/mx-5">Miata</a> in everything it does. While it's easy to chalk that up as marketing frippery, when the automaker launched the Little Roadster That Could back in 1989, it proved that great things can come from a machine developed to be simple, reliable and driver-focused. Even now, none of Mazda's wares offer class-leading fuel economy or practicality, but they've proven to be some of the best drivers in their segments. And as enthusiasts, it's easy to exchange a bit of functionality for a larger helping of fun.<br />
<br />
Now, Mazda hopes to achieve this same sort of positioning within the B-car segment - a class that's grown substantially in America and is projected to double in size within the next few years. The <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/mazda2">2011 Mazda2</a> comes to town right on the heels of its sister car, the <a href="http://autoblog.com/ford/fiesta">Ford Fiesta</a>, but as we found out after a lengthy drive through the city of Montr&eacute;al and the countryside of Canada's Qu&eacute;bec province, it's a wholly different machine. And while the Fiesta is sure to provide some serious competition for the 2, there are plenty of other well-to-do B cars in the U.S. that are ready to be sized up against the minuscule Mazda.<br />
<br />
If you only look at the stats, you wouldn't think Mazda has positioned the 2 to be anything overly special. Not only is it the least powerful car in its segment, but it doesn't offer some of the clever technology or unique packaging to make it stand out from its kin. But Mazda is immensely proud of the new 2, and though we looked on with skeptical faces, the people in charge simply told us that the little hatch's story is best told on the road. So let's get to it.<br />

<br />
If the economic downfall of 2008 had happened just a few years earlier, the <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/300">Chrysler 300C SRT8</a> probably wouldn't exist. Think about it: when the nation was on the verge of $4.00/gallon gasoline and people were doing everything possible to get out of their fuel-sucking SUVs and into smaller, more efficient vehicles, a 425-horsepower flagship sedan with a free-breathing 6.1-liter Hemi V8 doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But then again, did it ever?<br />
<br />
The 300C SRT8 is the product of a pre-castrated <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/chrysler/">Chrysler</a>. This was a time of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/dodge/viper+srt10">Viper</a>-powered <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/dodge/ram+1500">Rams</a>, Hemi-powered <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/jeep/">Jeeps</a> and SRT-badged Neons. "You want it, you got it." Chrysler wanted the 300C SRT8 to start a new trend of muscle sedans - a land where quarter-mile times reigned supreme, and booming exhaust notes were all that mattered. This trend never really caught on (save the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/cts-v">Cadillac CTS-V</a>, which has been honed to be one hell of a machine), and at the end of the day, Chrysler was left with a big, heavy, powerful sedan that didn't offer much in the way of refinement and carried a near-$50,000 price tag.<br />
<br />
But despite its flaws - and there are quite a few - we still think of the 300C SRT8 as a guilty pleasure. It has all the ingredients of an American muscle car wrapped in a four-door, luxury(ish) package. We'd probably never buy one or recommend buying a new one to a friend, but if we're totally honest, there's still something about the SRT8 that gets us all giddy when one comes through the Autoblog Garage. Make the jump to find out why.<br />

<br />
"It's the journalist special." That phrase, coined by our own senior editor, quite accurately sums up our initial impression of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/honda/accord">Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT</a> (breathe). The Accord may be one of the best-selling cars in America, but we'll bet our bottom dollar that only a very, <em>very</em> small percent of the already meager coupe sales are made up of expensive EX-L Navi models fitted with the manual transmission. But give or take a few nitpicky options, this is the way we'd spec our own Accord Coupe if asked to.<br />
<br />
Sure, it may seem that Honda outfitted this car just for us, but as we found out in our week-long test, there are plenty of reasons to like the two-door Accord. It's like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup on top - the safe, reliable, trusty Accord underpinnings with an extra helping of sweet stuff. Honda knows it isn't going to move many two-doors equipped like this, but we think potential Accord Coupe buyers would be wise to check out the V6/manual package. Follow the jump to find out why.<br />

<br />
Like it or not, the small crossover segment is booming. Not only are budget-minded automakers all putting forth their best efforts to create new-and-improved vehicles for the class, even higher-end manufacturers like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/bmw/">BMW</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/mercedes-benz">Mercedes-Benz</a> are getting into the act hoping to win over customers looking for a more premium experience. Why? These vehicles offer an excellent coupling of both utility and economy - two of the most important must-haves for the vast majority of new car shoppers.<br />
<br />
We recently invited the latest small CUV offering from <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/hyundai">Hyundai</a>, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/hyundai/tucson">2010 Tucson</a>, into the Autoblog Garage for a week, and found it to be a stylish, useful workhorse for everyday tasks that doesn't sacrifice too much in the way of driving enjoyment. What's more, with a sticker starting at $19,995, it's quite a bargain. But just because the Tucson carries a wallet-friendly price doesn't mean it lacks refinement or quality. Hit the jump to find out why.<br />

<br />
We hadn't been parked but a minute or two when it happened. After about a half an hour wringing out our test subject on what few curvy stretches of road suburban Detroit had to offer, we opportunistically pulled into a roadside fruit stand to snap a few photos before our ride got any dirtier. It was at exactly this point that a Lincoln MKZ rolled up, a window whirred down, and two gray-tufted heads popped out. "What is it?" inquired the couple in boisterous unison. Silence. "It's the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour," we eventually blurt out, my co-driver sounding suspiciously apologetic. "It's... it's gorgeous!" The late-sixty-something man isn't being facetious - in fact, he's gushing - taking his hands off the Lincoln's wheel and gesturing as if to reinforce his sincerity. <br />
<br />
If we're lyin,' we're dyin.'<br />
<br />
"It's absolutely <em>beautiful</em>." <br />
<br />
More silence.<br />
<br />
"Really? Would you like to take a closer look?" No sooner had we extended the offer than said window was rolled up and the MKZ hurriedly shepherded into a parking spot. Moments later, our curious seniors were all over Honda's latest like first-in-liners at an early bird all-you-can-eat buffet. They took in its daring fastback profile, sized up its cargo hold, fiddled with its power seat controllers and gooshed its soft-touch plastics. Not only were they clearly impressed, they loved the way it looked.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
We were headed on a road trip, because that's what you do when the summer draws to a close and something as gigantic as the Ford Flex rolls into your driveway. Destination: Brooklyn. Five miles into the journey, the Sony audio system belts out the Beastie Boys' "No Sleep Till Brooklyn," and the two sub-five-year-olds in tow agree. But we had an ace up our sleeve: our Flex SEL tester was packing a six-shooter augmented by Ford's EcoBoost turbo system, good for another 100 horsepower over the standard model. If the trip was going to be hellish, at least it would be short.<br />
<br />
<div style="border: 0px dotted black; margin: 5px; padding: 2px 3px; color: rgb(153, 0, 0); line-height: 120%; font-size: 1.5em; float: right; width: 220px; text-align: center;"><strong>There's newfound muscle to... flex.</strong></div>
There's a price premium to pay for the heavy breathing, but even at $40,000 as-tested, the kitted out Flex stickered for less than expected, and mitigating drawbacks seems to be a running theme with the EcoBoosted Flex. Its EPA estimated fuel economy in all-wheel drive trim of <strike>17/24</strike> 16/22 mpg city/highway, is exactly the same as the unboosted Duratec 3.5-liter, but there's newfound muscle to... flex. A turbocharged engine immediately makes thoughts of premium fuel dance through your head, but nope, the direct-injected V6 is happy to perform tricks on regular, though Ford recommends you run higher octane for maximum performance. <br />
<br />
In search of some kind of glaring downfall, we kept the Flex EcoBoost for a while, trying to suss out what penalties you might ultimately pay for the added brawn. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/12/2010-ford-flex-ecoboost-review/#continued">Follow the jump</a> to see how the big Ford fared.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> Remember back when you were a diapered enthusiast-to-be and you weren't allowed to venture beyond the end of your family's tree lawn? The sum total of your 'driving' experience was probably a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. If you were like us, your toddler self was all big dreams, bustling feet and arms akimbo, twirling around those front caster wheels, savoring your first taste of automotive freedom. <br /> <br />
<div style="border: 0px dotted black; margin: 5px; padding: 2px 3px; color: rgb(153, 0, 0); line-height: 120%; font-size: 1.5em; float: right; width: 245px; text-align: center;"><strong>Mazda created a timeless masterwork upon minting the very first MX-5 Miata back in 1989.</strong></div>
Small wonder, then, that Little Tikes' now 30-year-old bauble of rotation-molded plastic was <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/10/americas-best-selling-car-isnt-what-you-might-think/">last year's best-selling car</a> - it's timeless. Combine classic styling, unburstable robustness, an inexpensive sticker price and the fact that it remains just quick enough for its target audience, and you've got a recipe for lasting success. The CC's whimsical, animated face; rounded, friendly styling; unfussed interior; nimble handling and general affordability has meant that despite a decidedly casual model update schedule, the folks at Little Tikes still have the whole fun-to-drive thing knocked. Sound like anyone else we know?<br /> <br /> Oh, it may have taken them a decade longer to cotton on to the idea, but Mazda's designers eventually stumbled upon the same secret sauce as those wondrous toymakers from Hudson, Ohio. Perhaps inadvertently, they, too, created a timeless masterwork upon minting the very first MX-5 Miata back in 1989. All these years later, just like the Cozy Coupe, you can't help but smile a little when you see one. Just like the Cozy Coupe, you have to adopt the same mildly vulnerable, elbows-out-the-window driving position because of the cabin's pronounced narrowness. Just like the Cozy Coupe, both cars have more than their fair share of plastic in their interior. Just like the Cozy Coupe, road imperfections are transmitted directly through the modestly sized wheels into the driver's hands and back pocket - and in both cases, it's part of the fun. Most importantly, just like that Cozy Coupe of your youth, Mazda's minimalist masterwork will help you rediscover your inner enthusiast's childlike heart.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata">Review: 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/2009mx5review_001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/2009mx5review_002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/2009mx5review_003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/2009mx5review_004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/2009mx5review_005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> <em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 Chris Paukert / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/02/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata-is-still-the-drive-of-our-childhoo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata is still the drive of our childhood dreams</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/02/review-2009-mazda-mx-5-miata-is-still-the-drive-of-our-childhoo/">Review: 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata is still the drive of our childhood dreams</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 02 Oct 2009 11:55:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>2010 Acura TSX V6 - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
The 2010 Acura TSX V6 is something of a consolation prize. At the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, Acura showed off a new 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel and said it would launch in the U.S. this year. A few months later in New York, Honda's luxury arm showed off the all-new second generation TSX sedan, and we expected to be driving the culmination of the two right around now.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, a confluence of events a few months after the TSX was shown caused Acura to reverse course and put the diesel engine on the shelf. As world oil prices hit all time record levels, the never ending construction in China and Dubai seemed to be consuming the entire world supply of diesel, driving prices higher and higher. At about the same time, the world came to the realization that loaning money to people who couldn't pay it back might not be a great idea after all. With sales in the toilet everywhere, Acura decided that throwing a gasoline-powered V6 into the TSX might be a better idea. Was it?<br />

<br /> It's been ten years since Honda released the S2000 to celebrate its golden anniversary, but since Autoblog's inception, we have somehow never managed to publish a proper review of the high-revving roadster. With the final S2000 having rolled off the line on August 7, we figured it was time to make amends and get some serious seat time in one of the few pure sports cars left in existence.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000">Review: 2009 Honda S2000</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/hondas2000---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="hondas2000---01" title="hondas2000---01" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/hondas2000---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="hondas2000---02" title="hondas2000---02" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/hondas2000---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="hondas2000---03" title="hondas2000---03" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/hondas2000---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="hondas2000---04" title="hondas2000---04" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-honda-s2000/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/hondas2000---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="hondas2000---05" title="hondas2000---05" /></a></div><br /> <em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 Sam Abuelsamid / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/review-2009-honda-s2000-is-a-champ-to-the-end/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Honda S2000 is a champ to the end</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/review-2009-honda-s2000-is-a-champ-to-the-end/">Review: 2009 Honda S2000 is a champ to the end</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 11:56:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>2009 Ural T sidecar motorcycle - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></span></div>
<br /> Despite its obvious link to Thirties-era wartime motorcycles from BMW, the 2009 <a href="http://imz-ural.com/">Ural</a> T sidecar motorcycle can't really be described as "retro." Instead, the three-wheeled machines rolling out of Ural's factory in Russia really are a direct link to the past - a bygone era of motorcycling that's sure to intrigue some and disinterest others. Which camp you belong to depends largely on your expectations for a bike. Many motorcyclists relish the opportunity to zip away from stoplights with telepathic ease, weave through dense urban traffic and slide knees from apex to apex. If those are your intentions, the Ural is most certainly not your mount. If, however, your motorcycling passions tend to favor leisurely strolls through the countryside and you'd like to share the experience with your significant other, we suggest clicking past the jump to read about our time with Ural's latest sidecar motorcycle.<br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle">Review: 2009 Ural T sidecar motorcycle</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/uralcycle_review002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/uralcycle_review003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/uralcycle_review000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/uralcycle_review001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/uralcycle_review004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>Photos Copyright (C)2009 Jeremy Korzeniewski/Weblogs, Inc.</small></span><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/15/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle-isnt-as-retro-as-it-look/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Ural T sidecar motorcycle isn't as retro as it looks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/15/review-2009-ural-t-sidecar-motorcycle-isnt-as-retro-as-it-look/">Review: 2009 Ural T sidecar motorcycle isn't as retro as it looks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009 11:55:00 EST. <br /> First impressions can be problematic, even more so when reviewing a vehicle. When the media gets its first shot at a new offering, the automaker typically invites journalists to a location of its choosing to drive under conditions that show the car in its best light. Such was the case with the 2010 Honda Insight. After our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/abg-first-drive-2010-honda-insight-63-4-mpg/">First Drive</a>, we came away with the impression that Honda's hot new hybrid was an engaging alternative to the Toyota Prius, but we quickly came to realize the Insight's limitations and flaws after a week behind the wheel on our home turf. <br /> <br /> Get our real-world impressions <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/review-2010-honda-insight-ex-familiarity-breeds-discontent/">after the jump</a>.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex">Review: 2010 Honda Insight EX</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/insight_reviewb000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/insight_reviewb001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/insight_reviewb002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/insight_reviewb003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2010-honda-insight-ex/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/insight_reviewb004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />

<div align="center"><strong><em><small>2009 Cadillac CTS-V - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></em></strong><br /></div>
<br />Despite recent products to the contrary, when much of America thinks "Cadillac," a lot of people still recall the land yachts of the '70s and '80s. Hoods and decks marginally shorter than your average aircraft carrier, and Sedan de Villes and Fleetwoods serving as hearses or transportation for those awaiting a ride in one. But something happened to Cadillac a few years back. After several failed attempts to compete with the Germans (Seville STS, Allante and Catera), General Motors began crafting a strategy to take on the luxury marques abroad. At the forefront of that movement is the Cadillac CTS and the pinnacle of their efforts is this, the CTS-V. To paraphrase and co-opt the grizzled Oldsmobile tag-line: "The 2009 CTS-V is not your grandfather's Cadillac." Not by a long shot.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v">Review: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/ctsv-review000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/ctsv-review008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/ctsv-review001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/ctsv-review002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/ctsv-review003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos Copyright (C)2009 Sam Abuelsamid / Max Abuelsamid / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/03/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v-supercar-performance-everyday-driv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V offers supercar performance, everyday drivability</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/03/review-2009-cadillac-cts-v-supercar-performance-everyday-driv/">Review: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V offers supercar performance, everyday drivability</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 03 Jun 2009 11:57:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />In the 23 years since Hyundai first entered the U.S. market, the Korean automaker has come a long away. What began as a budget-oriented brand for those who couldn't afford the higher-priced products from Japan has evolved into a credible contender in virtually every segment that it competes. In the early days, the primary emphasis was on affordable motoring, sometimes at the expense of long-term durability. Today, it's a different story. From the Accent to the Genesis sedan, Hyundai still offers some of the most affordable products, but the decades-old connotations of "cheap" have been largely laid to rest.<br /><br />With the introduction of the Tiburon, Hyundai finally dipped its toe into the sports-car segment, but as nice as it was, it simply didn't have the chops to play with the big boys of the performance set. Enter the Genesis Coupe. Hyundai's rear-wheel-drive two-door is the second salvo in the automaker's bid to flesh-out its premium Genesis sub-brand, while at the same time taking direct aim at a field of established competitors ranging from the Ford Mustang to the Infiniti G37. Does the Genesis have what it takes to play the game? We spent a week with a 3.8-liter Track model to find out.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track">Review: 2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/001_gencoupe_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/005_gencoupe_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/000_gencoupe_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/002_gencoupe_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/003_gencoupe_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos Copyright (C)2009 Sam Abuelsamid / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/07/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track-but-what-if-you-do/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track - but what if you don't have a track?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/07/review-2009-hyundai-genesis-coupe-3-8-track-but-what-if-you-do/">Review: 2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track - but what if you don't have a track?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 07 May 2009 11:58:00 EST. <br /> The Jeep Wrangler is designed to be one of the most capable vehicles on the planet. It can climb a 45-degree grade, tread through 30 inches of water and crawl down a rock-filled hillside - all with the top down and the doors off. Its shape hasn't changed much over the years, primarily because Jeep owners like the way the Wrangler looks and its aesthetic exists to support this rugged off-roader's functionality.<br /> <br /> The Wrangler has stood the test of time, but an influx of capable and comfortable SUVs meant that the tried-and-true Jeep was in need of an update. To appeal to Wrangler enthusiasts who need more interior flexibility, Chrysler finally decided to pull the trigger on a four-door model. To the surprise of nobody, the Wrangler Unlimited has been one of the few hits from Chrysler in recent years, at one point prompting a dealer waiting list for the longest-running Jeep. We wanted to try the four-door Jeep for ourselves, so we welcomed a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon into our garage for a week-long run.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4">Review: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4x4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/000_wrangler_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/003_wrangler_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/001_wrangler_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/002_wrangler_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/004_wrangler_review_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>All photos Copyright (C)2009 Chris Shunk / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/24/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4x4</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/24/review-2009-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-4x4/">Review: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4x4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 24 Mar 2009 11:58:00 EST. <br />Driving prototypes is practically useless. It's next to impossible to get a feel for what the production version is capable of, and you rarely get a chance to explore the limits. Our time with the <a href="http://www.ronnmotors.com/cms/">Ronn Motor Company</a> Scorpion didn't change that sentiment, but it did give us a glimpse into the upstart's future and how its program is progressing since the concept's introduction at <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-ronn-motor-company-unveils-the-200-mph-scorpion-hx/">last year's SEMA show</a>. Tooling around Sacramento in the V6-powered, hydrogen-injected roadster, the unmuffled exhaust made us almost as uncomfortable as the lack of seatbelts. But to the company's credit, the Scorpion is a rarity in the show-car world - a concept that actually drives. So when the call came from Texas to get some wheel-time in the Scorpion, we jumped at the chance. Hell, <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/1433942/">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a> personally invited the Ronn Motors crew to the Capitol to get a closer look... who are we to deny the chance to hold court with the Governator?<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1">Driven: Ronn Motors Scorpion</a></strong></p><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/03/000_scorpiondrive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/03/001_scorpiondrive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/03/002_scorpiondrive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/03/003_scorpiondrive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/driven-ronn-motors-scorpion-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/03/004_scorpiondrive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://bradthephotog.com/">Brad Wood</a> / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/16/driven-ronn-motor-company-scorpion-the-worlds-first-green-s/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Driven: Ronn Motor Company Scorpion, the world's first 'green' supercar</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/16/driven-ronn-motor-company-scorpion-the-worlds-first-green-s/">Driven: Ronn Motor Company Scorpion, the world's first 'green' supercar</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 16 Mar 2009 19:58:00 EST.
