We can't imagine the thrill Mihai Panaitescu felt creep us his spine when he walked into the hall in Frankfurt and saw his design rendered in full form for the world to see. The winner of Peugeot's 4th annual design competition not only had the opportunity to see his creation brought to life, but he'll have the opportunity to drive the Flux in the virtual realm once it's included into the fourth iteration of Project Gothem Racing.

Back in July, we brought you a series of videos showing the making of the latest TV commercial for the upcoming XBOX 360 title, Project Gotham Racing 4. As you might recall, a Ferrari F430 was harmed during filming. Its closed-course playmates were a Tesla Roadster, SLR McLaren, a '63 'Vette and a sportbike (looks like it could be a Yamaha, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong). Well, today we get news that the final commercial is done. No surprise: it's cool. In other news, I really need to get an XBOX 360.

Though originally slated for a September 2007 debut, Project Gotham Racing 4 for the XBox 360 is now officially set to be released on October 2nd in the U.S. and October 12th in Europe. Bizarre Creations, the gaming house behind the PGR series, acknowledges it'll be two days late with the product, but according to Joystiq, they want to put "the finishing on the game to ensure it crosses the finish line at retail as the best titel yet in the 'PGR' racing franchise." Considering that PGR 4 is packed with a long list of cars and motorcycles, as well as featuring more weather scenarios than the Gulf of Mexico this time of year, we believe it will be the best of the series. Whether it's better than Forza Motorsport 2 or the also upcoming Gran Turismo 5 will have to wait until someone performs a proper smackdown comparison of the three.

Our colleague Noah will surely be saddened by this news and might want to avert his eyes now. An alert AutoblogGreen reader tipped off ABG the other night to some videos on YouTube of a Tesla Roadster street racing with a Ferrari F430, '63 Corvette, Mercedes-Benz SLR and a bike. After checking with Tesla, it turned that it was shot on a closed course while Microsoft was filming a commercial for the upcoming Project Gotham Racing 4 which will be featuring all those vehicles.

A visit to the YouTube account shows there are two more clips of the Ferrari alone. In these, the F430 drifts a bit too wide out of the corner and taps the concrete barrier with the left front corner. Fortunately, it didn't hit very hard and it doesn't appear much damage was done, although it will undoubtedly still be a very expensive day. Slabs of concrete are so much less forgiving than gravel pits! According to Tesla VP Darryl Siry, the finished commercial should appear on the old fashioned tube in mid-August with the game to follow from Microsoft in September.
