<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />When playing car racing video games, do you find yourself choosing vehicles or brands that you've owned in the past? We are definitely guilty as charged on this count, but it seems that this sort of logic works the other way too. People that play popular games like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gt5">Gran Turismo</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/pgr4/">Project Gotham Racing</a> have shown an affinity towards real-life vehicles that they used in the gaming realm. Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi Evolution anyone?<br /><br /><em>Financial Post</em> researchers recently conducted a brief study that put people in front of gaming consoles running car racing simulators. Other people were placed in separate rooms where the games were being broadcast, but not played. Afterward, both groups were surveyed, and the results were eye opening. Those that played the video games responded that they were 50% more likely to purchase vehicles that they used in the video games than those that just watched.<br /><br />Sure, these results don't necessarily prove anything, but <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/03/citroen-gt-concept-now-available-on-gt5-prologue/">automakers</a> and advertisers have certainly taken notice. Current estimates put the in-game advertising market at $1.8 billion within the next few years.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/">Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/tamora_006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.financialpost.com/executive/story.html?id=1222045">Financial Post</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/09/study-says-driving-cars-in-video-games-builds-positive-brand-rel/">Study suggests driving cars in video games could lead to more purchases in real-life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Feb 2009 16:56:00 EST. Other rides include the RUF R.K. Spyder, a Ferrari F430 Challenge, the Gumpert Apollo Coupe and the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG. Gamers were given the ability to add three of Caddy's V-Series cars to the already-impressive group of rides included with the game.<br /><br />This coming weekend, that relationship is going to get some high-profile exposure as the #16 CTS-V SPEED GT racing car will sport a new <em>PGR</em>-themed livery for the Speed World Challenge race at Infineon Raceway. Cadillac is pulling out all the stops to make sure the car does well, as Corvette Racing's Johnny O'Connell will strap in behind the wheel. O'Connell, who along with teammate Ron Fellows has won his last five ALMS races at Infineon, will see if he can work his magic with the Cadillac and finish atop the podium. Reigining SPEED GT champ and Cadillac teammate Andy Pilgrim will join O'Connell on the circuit in the #1 car.<br /><br />The SPEED GT race is part of this weekend's NASCAR Nextel Cup festivities at Infineon, so a huge crowd and equally huge exposure for the Caddy/XBOX relationship are all but guaranteed. <br /><br /><em>(Photo, press release after the jump)</em><br /><br />[Source: GM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/06/20/cadillac-cts-v-racer-promotes-xbox-tie-in-this-weekend/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cadillac CTS-V racer promotes XBOX tie-in this weekend</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/06/20/cadillac-cts-v-racer-promotes-xbox-tie-in-this-weekend/">Cadillac CTS-V racer promotes XBOX tie-in this weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 20 Jun 2006 16:34:00 EST. Elite-class Xbox Live gamers gain access to exclusive events, customized downloadable content and are eligible to win prizes.
