<br /> It may be getting colder across the country, but in Porscheland, things are heating up. The German automaker just took the wraps off its ultimate tribute to sun and fun, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/02/2011-porsche-boxster-spyder-at-2009-la-auto-show/">the new Boxster Spyder</a>, in Los Angeles, and its merchandising counterpart is gearing up for sunshine with its new collection of gear for the spring and summer.<br /> <br /> The latest sport collection has items for the driver, runner, golfer, swimmer, sailor and tennis player, all made in collaboration with sportswear giant Adidas. Highlights include weatherproof jackets, shock-absorbing sneakers, and even the odd Bermuda or two. You can check it all out in the press release after the jump and in the high-res image gallery below. The collection is available from Porsche Design stores worldwide, and the best part is you don't have to own a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/porsche/">Porsche</a> to buy them (you little poseur, you!).<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/">Porsche Design Sport Spring/Summer 2010</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/12/02_300_0040_driving_fabricmixjacket_29800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/12/02_300_0060_driving_vnecklightknit_29801_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/12/02_300_0070_driving_newfunctionalshirt_29802_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/12/02_300_0130_driving_collapsable_29803_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-spring-summer-2010/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/12/02_300_0180_tennis_techsuit_29804_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Porsche Design]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/04/porsche-design-gears-up-for-the-sunshine-with-new-driving-and-sp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Porsche Design gears up for the sunshine with new driving and sportswear collection</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/04/porsche-design-gears-up-for-the-sunshine-with-new-driving-and-sp/">Porsche Design gears up for the sunshine with new driving and sportswear collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 04 Dec 2009 08:01:00 EST. <br />
Times are tough for the Porsche family. Amidst the merger with Volkswagen, their company just suffered a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/17/porsche-suffers-6-6b-loss-thanks-to-vw-share-writedowns/">$6.6 billion loss</a>. But we didn't think things were this bad for the descendants of Ferdinand Porsche until Bonhams announced they would be liquidating that family's watch collection to the highest bidder.<br />
<br />
Okay, we're exaggerating just a bit. The Porsche family stands to make a lot of money out of the Volkswagen merger, and the collection is being auctioned off for charity. And while we have no idea what charity that is, we have to assume it's not the Porsche family themselves.<br />
<br />
As it turns out, the family's interests extend beyond the automobile. Not only does their Porsche Design Group have its own range of watches, but some fourteen years ago they bought Eterna, one of the largest independent watchmakers in Switzerland. Eterna fabricates Porsche Design watches as well as their own brand, and several of the rarest examples will be included along with others among the 49 watches crossing the auction block on December 2 in London. <br />
<br />
Among those pieces Bonhams is highlight are included a rare 18kt gold Porsche Design prototype and an Eterna presented to family scion Ferdinand Oliver Porsche on his 40th birthday, along with rare timepieces from Rolex and Omega as well as Panerai (which makes watches for arch-rival Ferrari), Jaeger LeCoultre (which partners with Aston Martin) and Breitling (in league with Bentley). Follow the jump for further details, and check out the images in the gallery below.<br />

<br /> While the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/911">Porsche 911</a> stands as one of the most ubiquitous and storied sports cars of all time, another Porsche design was made popular by one particular individual.<br /> <br /> Throughout the Eighties, Yoko Ono wore the original Porsche Design shades so often they became known as the Yoko Ono sunglasses. She wore them at press conferences, for photo shoots (including the cover of <em>Rolling Stone</em> magazine) and on the covers of her albums. Now the German carmaker's Austrian product design studio has brought the design back back as the P'8479. <br /> <br /> The shield-style visor is supported by a Beta-Titanium frame secured by visible screws for an iconic retro look that may not be our cup of tea exactly, but we just hope their presence doesn't break up the VW merger like Yoko broke up The Beatles.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p8479-yoko-ono-sunglasses/low/">Porsche Design P'8479 Yoko Ono sunglasses</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p8479-yoko-ono-sunglasses/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/11/02_300_p8479a_yokoono_29693_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p8479-yoko-ono-sunglasses/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/11/02_300_p8479a_yokoono_2_29699_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Porsche Design]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/14/oh-no-porsche-design-revives-yokos-iconic-sunglasses/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Oh, No! <br />
We've all seen people stepping out of exquisite sports cars dressed like total slobs, and the whole image thing just goes up in a cloud of smoke. Porsche Design seems to have made it its mission to complete the package, and to that end has released two new product lines.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/porsche-design-the-essence-intense/#4"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/pd-scent_web.jpg" /></a>Among the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/17/porsche-design-races-into-the-summer-with-new-motorsport-collect/">sportswear</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/porsche-design-launches-fitted-luggage-collection-for-new-paname/">luggage</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/11/siemens-toaster-by-porsche-design/">appliances</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/11/porsche-design-gets-drilled-with-multihammer-p7911/">power tools</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/03/a-little-bigger-than-a-cayenne-porsche-designs-135-foot-catama/">mega yachts</a> and everything else the German automaker's Austrian merchandising studio has come up with recently, Porsche Design released its signature fragrance line - called <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/31/stink-fast-porsche-design-cologne/">"The Essence"</a> - about a year and a half ago, and has now followed up with a new take its calling "The Essence Intense." Not quite bottling that "new car smell," Porsche Design says Intense packs notes of myrtle, juniper and mandarin into a sleek bottle of frosted black glass and satin black brushed aluminum that goes a long way towards explaining the conspicuously strange shape of the new Panamera.<br />
<br />
Of more interest to the enthusiast, however, might be Porsche Design's latest line of driving shoes. Positioned a little higher than the sneaks designed for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/porsche-design-and-adidas-gear-up-for-the-winter/">Adidas</a>, the latest collection of Porsche footwear is formal enough to wear to the office, and is designed for heel-and-toe work: The right sole is grooved for quick transition from gas to brake, while the left sole is designed to grip the clutch pedal.<br />
<br />
Follow the jump for more information on both the new fragrance and the latest footwear collection, and check out the images in the galleries below. <br />

<br /> Sure, cars like the Cayenne and even the Panamera are enormous in comparison to the 911. But there's still only so big Porsche can go. That is, on land at least. Not one to be told to stick to its core business, Porsche's design arm has teamed up with a Singapore shipyard to design a state-of-the-art catamaran megayacht.<br /> <br /> We <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/supercars-to-megayachts-porsche-design-styles-135-ft-catamaran/">first reported</a> on the RFF135 by Porsche Design and Royal Falcon Fleet back when the idea was announced, but now that the project has started to materialize, the two companies have begun releasing details and images. Worlds apart from <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/21/porsche-gets-its-feet-wet-with-viper-power/">the speedboat which Porsche Design penned for Fearless</a>, the RFF135 is a massive twin-hull design measuring 135 feet in length (hence the name) with a 41-foot beam. That's enough space to accommodate 10 guests and 10 crew members below decks in 472 square meters of area, with another 208 square meters of deck space up top. <br /><br />That's almost unfathomably large, and to propel the vessel up 35 knots (about 40 mph), the catamaran will be equipped with twin V16 turbodiesel engines from German manufacturer MTU, each producing a massive 4,600 horsepower. Don't ask about miles per gallon - this puppy will drink down 750 liters of diesel every hour, but at least you're bound to look damned good doing it, right? Details in the press release after the jump and renderings in the gallery below.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/">Royal Falcon Fleet 135 by Porsche Design</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/rff-porschedesign-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="rff-porschedesign-03" title="rff-porschedesign-03" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/rff-porschedesign-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="rff-porschedesign-06" title="rff-porschedesign-06" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/rff-porschedesign-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="rff-porschedesign-04" title="rff-porschedesign-04" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/rff-porschedesign-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="rff-porschedesign-05" title="rff-porschedesign-05" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/royal-falcon-fleet-135-by-porsche-design/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/rff-porschedesign-07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="rff-porschedesign-07" title="rff-porschedesign-07" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Porsche Design]<br /> <br /><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/03/a-little-bigger-than-a-cayenne-porsche-designs-135-foot-catama/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A Little Bigger than a Cayenne: Porsche Design's 135-foot catamaran megayacht</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/03/a-little-bigger-than-a-cayenne-porsche-designs-135-foot-catama/">A Little Bigger than a Cayenne: Porsche Design's 135-foot catamaran megayacht</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 13:59:00 EST. If you're planning a trip to Germany, Stuttgart should be included in your itinerary. The city is home to both Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, but if factory tours aren't enough to make it worth your while, Porsche <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/26/new-porsche-museum-opens-this-week-in-stuttgart/">recently inaugurated</a> a new &euro;100 million museum displaying a collection that includes 80 of the company's most historic creations on 1,000 square meters of floor space housed in a dazzling new building. We <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/first-look-new-porsche-museum-in-stuttgart/">recently had a chance to check it out</a> in person, and we'd highly recommend any gearhead worth his or her pistons to do the same. And when you do, you'll probably want to bring some extra cash, because as you'd expect, the gift shop is packed with desirable items, the latest of which Porsche has just revealed.<br />
<br />
The new collection at the Porsche Museum shop includes sportswear - including the 356 Workshop Shirt for men and the retro "I too prefer Porsche" tee for the ladies - as well as books and DVDs outlining the company's history along with the usual suspects from metal signs and posters to keychains and exclusive 1:18 scale models. You can check 'em all out in the gallery below and the press release after the jump, but if you want to pick something up, you'll have to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/20/cant-visit-the-porsche-museum-in-person-try-this/">go in person</a>.<br />

While the rest of us are enjoying the summer, those working in the fashion industry at any level are already gearing up for the winter wonderland around the corner. So Porsche Design - the lucrative merchandising division - has released its latest Sport collection for the Fall and Winter seasons. <br /><br />Made in collaboration with sportswear giant Adidas, the latest Porsche Design collection includes lines for sailing, golf, tennis, running and skiing, but of course, we cut straight to the good stuff: the driving gear, including a fresh assortment of driving shoes, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, jackets and more. Naturally, they're all exquisitely designed, meticulously crafted and eager to keep you warm on a drive through the Alps. Follow the jump for the full press release and check out the images of the driving gear in the gallery below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/">Porsche Design Sport Fall/Winter 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/02_072_0450_hoodedjumper_detail_28647_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/02_072_0460_racerhi_detail_28650_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/02_072_0470_supercuphiltde_28652_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/02_072_0480_drivingclose_28654_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-sport-fall-winter-2009/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/02_072_0490_racerhi_28656_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/porsche-design-and-adidas-gear-up-for-the-winter/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Porsche Design and Adidas Gear Up for the Winter</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/porsche-design-and-adidas-gear-up-for-the-winter/">Porsche Design and Adidas Gear Up for the Winter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 10 Jul 2009 08:36:00 EST. <br />Say what you will about the styling of the Porsche Panamera, the company's merchandising division cranks out some seriously lust-worthy designs. Some of them have nothing to do with their automotive namesake, but here's an instance of Porsche Design working in concert with the automobile division to give drivers something a little more handy than a baseball cap or polo shirt. Okay, so the Panamera Collection includes plenty of those too, along with watches, coats and kids clothing, but it also includes a set of intriguing fitted luggage for the four-door sports car from Zuffenhausen.<br /><br />Instead of the usual (and usually exquisitely crafted) soft leather bags, Porsche has gone with a set of aluminum and polycarbonate hard-shell suitcases of various sizes and shapes. They're even available in the same colors as the Panamera, making this set of fitted luggage especially fitting. Check 'em out in the gallery below (along with the requisite clothing line) and the details in the press release <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/24/porsche-design-launches-fitted-luggage-collection-for-new-paname/">after the jump</a>.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/">Porsche Design Panamera Collection</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_072_0010_panamera_collection_28423_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_072_0020_panamera_aluframemtrolley_28424_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_072_0030_panamera_aluframeltrolley_28426_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_072_0040_panamera_aluframexltrolley_28428_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-panamera-collection/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_072_0050_panamera_chronograph_28430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/porsche-design-launches-fitted-luggage-collection-for-new-paname/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Porsche Design launches fitted luggage collection for new Panamera</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/porsche-design-launches-fitted-luggage-collection-for-new-paname/">Porsche Design launches fitted luggage collection for new Panamera</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 07:58:00 EST. Grill marks, of course.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.bbqgalore.com/crossray/xseries/">Barbeques Galore</a> and <a href="http://www.porsche-design.com/live/PORSCHE_DESIGN_STUDIO_en.PorscheDesign">Porsche Design Studio</a> have burned the midnight oil for two years while working on the the new X-Series Grill. Under its sleek, German-styled exterior lies some fairly hot grilling technology. Instead of the standard gas burners found in most grills, the X-Series uses four infrared burners that can crank out 52,000 BTUs using 50% less fuel with 80% fewer flare-ups. By our very rough shadetree estimates, that should be good for a zero to steak time of about 10 minutes. Or so.<br /><br />With a starting sticker price of $5,999 Porsche Design's first grill comes with a motorized rotisserie, an LCD temp display with remote probe, and an insulated double-walled hood. Step up to the X-Series Island (above) for $8,499 for a stainless steel finish and concealed cupboards and gas cylinder storage. <br /><br />All models are covered under a lifetime warranty for service, parts and repair. Also included is the right to brag to your numbers that you have a Porsche in your backyard.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/20/car-b-q-x-series-grill-by-porsche-design-studio/">Car-B-Q: X-Series Grill by Porsche Design Studio</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 20 May 2009 07:58:00 EST. But this spring the merchandizing division takes to the track with the Motorsport Collection.<br /><br />The men's lineup includes polo shirts, board shorts, fleeces, t-shirts and more, including a limited-edition Gore-Tex jacket of which only a highly symbolic 911 examples will be made. The Motorsport Collection also includes items for women and children, plus coordinating accessories, all done up in matching white and gray with red trim, complete with sponsor logos in case your own endorsement deal hasn't come in yet. <br />Like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/14/blackout-porsche-unveils-limited-edition-cayman-s-porsche-desig/">Porsche Cayman S Design Edition 1</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/04/porsche-releases-new-special-edition-boxster-and-cayman-s/">Boxster S Design Edition 2</a> before it, the Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 shows off what German automaker's industrial design shop can do. The Cayenne version continues the trend set by the Cayman S and Boxster S with special dark striping on the doors and hood that subtly contrasts with the unique Lava Grey Metallic paint color. The 21-inch SportPlus wheels are also cast in the same dark color and feature this spokes through which the GTS' braking hardware can be viewed. A roof spoiler, tinted glass and special "Porsche Design Edition 3" badging round out the exterior accouterments. The interior is finished with lots of carbon fiber trim, black leather and contrasting red stitching, while more "Porsche Design Edition 3" branding can be found on the tach face, door sill and a placard in the glove box along with the vehicle's serial number. <br /><br />While there are no real performance improvements to this limited edition version of the Cayenne GTS, which is already a capable performance SUV, you do get a sports exhaust and slightly lowered suspension. What may sway buyers more are the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/">Porsche Design accessories</a> that come standard, including a chronograph watch and four-piece luggage set. Only 1,000 examples of the Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 will be made, each starting at &euro;79,100 in Europe <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">where they'll be exclusively sold</span> and $89,900 in the U.S. where only 100 will be sold.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">UPDATE:</span> U.S. press release added after jump.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/">Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/000_cayennedesign3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/001_cayennedesign3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/002_cayennedesign3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/003_cayennedesign3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayenne-gts-design-edition-3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/004_cayennedesign3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/low/">Porsche Design Accessories</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/p09_0834_a5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/p09_0833_a5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/p09_0831_a5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-accessories/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/p09_0832_a5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Porsche]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/25/limited-edition-cayenne-gts-porsche-design-edition-iii-to-hit-th/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Limited-edition Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 to hit the streets</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/25/limited-edition-cayenne-gts-porsche-design-edition-iii-to-hit-th/">Limited-edition Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 to hit the streets</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 25 Mar 2009 12:59:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above to view the Porsche Design P'9522 mobile phone in high resolution</small></strong><small></small></em><small><br /></small></div>
<small></small> <br />Say what you will about Porsche's automotive design, its product design is at the cutting edge of style and technology. The company's merchandizing division, Porsche Design, has just upped the ante with its latest release, the P'9522 mobile phone. <br /> <br /> Unlike Porsche Design's previous phone, the slick <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/15/porsche-design-releases-p9521-phone/">P'9521 clamshell</a>, the P'9522 is designed around a straightforward "candy-bar" form factor, milled from a solid block of aluminum with a scratch-resistant touchscreen glass display. Avoiding getting your fingerprints all over this slick piece of tech would be an exercise in futility, so Porsche Design has incorporated a fingerprint reader to keep unwelcome users out. The P'9522 also features a five-megapixel camera with flash, GPS module, stereo MP3 player, WiFi and quad-band antennas for use around the world (except Japan and Korea). At &euro;600 (approx. $774), it ain't cheap, but it's about half the price of the P'9521 flip-phone. <br /><br />To celebrate the launch of the new phone, Porsche Design has commissioned nine photographers from around the world to shoot the P'9522 (though presumably not with the phone's built-in camera). The photos will appear in a travel exhibition touring the world, but you can see them all in the gallery below along with the more straightforward shots of the phone from every angle, with full details in the press release after the jump.<br /><br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/">Porsche Design P'9522</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/porsche-design-p9522-mobile-phone_0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/porsche-design-p9522-mobile-phone_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/porsche-design-p9522-mobile-phone_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/porsche-design-p9522-mobile-phone_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-design-p9522/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/porsche-design-p9522-mobile-phone_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Porsche Design]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/18/smooth-operator-porsche-design-releases-new-p9522-phone/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Smooth Operator: Porsche Design releases new P'9522 phone</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/18/smooth-operator-porsche-design-releases-new-p9522-phone/">Smooth Operator: Porsche Design releases new P'9522 phone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 08:28:00 EST. <br />Remember the 80's? Frankly, we'd rather not, what with all the neon colors and fifth-grader graphics. But some people just won't leave it alone. Like sneaker freaks, who need to have those Nike high-tops they had (or didn't) as a child. Or Porsche, with their obscenely bright-colored 911 GT3 RS. The two may seem at diametrically opposite ends of the spectrum, but it was only a matter of time before someone brought them together. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/1251962/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike-gt3-web2.jpg" alt="" /></a>That someone is Purchaze, a German retro clothing company. Upon opening its newest location in Holland, a nearby Porsche dealership hooked them up with a Cayman S for promotional purposes. (We would have figured some neon-colored slant-nose would have served better, but what do we know.) As a thanks for the loan, Purchaze whipped up the series of sneakers you see above. Inspired, supposedly, by the GT3, each pair of kicks features the Porsche badge on the tongue and are colored in the shades of the GT3 palette: one pair in orange, one in green, another in black and a fourth in silver. The sneakers were presented to the team at the Porsche dealership, who are <strike>wishing they had irregularly-sized feet</strike> to use wear them in the pits at an upcoming race. If you want to get your hands on a pair of these, <strike>you may have less taste than boiled chicken</strike> you can't, because they were made exclusively for the dealership, but <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/14/from-sportscars-to-sportswear-adidas-by-porsche-design/">Adidas offers a line of Porsche Design shoes</a> that may not, you know, be a cause of embarrassment when worn in public. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/">Nike sneakers inspired by Porsche GT3 RS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike_porsche_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike_porsche_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike_porsche_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike_porsche_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nike-sneakers-inspired-by-porsche-gt3-rs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/nike_porsche_6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2008/01/12/nike-air-max-light-x-porsche-gt3-rs/">High Snobiety</a> via <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5121254/nike-air-max-light-gt3-rs-inspired-by-porsche">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/31/nike-outlet-puts-the-rs-in-sneakers/">Nike outlet puts the "RS" in "sneakers"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 31 Dec 2008 18:01:00 EST. That's why the automaker's merchandising division, Porsche Design, has come out with this Sportster children's sled, just in time for the holidays. It's made of aluminum and can support up to 220 lbs, so it's good for <strike>fat kids</strike> Dad, too. It'll even fold down if you're heading to the slopes in a Carrera 4 instead of a <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Cayenne</st1:place></st1:city>. Unfortunately, getting anything with the Porsche Design name on it doesn't come cheap, and this one sells for $490.</p>

<p>In case you hadn't had quite enough of German automakers producing cars themed after yachts - like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/27/lounge-on-deck-of-vw-caddy-topos-sail-concept/">Volkswagen Caddy Topos Sail</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/05/geneva-2008-audi-q7-v12-tdi-coastline-redefines-flagship/">Audi Q7 Coastline</a> - here comes one offshoot preparing to actually design a line of mega-yachts. </p>
<p>The Porsche Design boats are being penned for Singaporean shipyard's Royal Falcon Fleet, and will start off with RFF135, a 135-foot catamaran (that means two hulls for all you land-lubers). Australian firm Incat Crowther and Swedish outfit Kockums are also involved in the project, which is slated to include a variety of mega-yachts for the uber-wealthy with either two hulls or one. Yachts of this size typically leave the engine room up to the buyer's specifications, along with most everything else, but don't expect to find a bank of air-cooled flat-sixes below decks. If you're wondering how an automotive merchandise design firm could translate their competence to the entirely separate field of naval architecture, just remember that, following the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/21/porsche-gets-its-feet-wet-with-viper-power/">Fearless speedboat series</a>, this won't be the first time Porsche Design has tangled its toes in the water.</p>

<p>We know what you were thinking. "What my kitchen really needs is a Porsche toaster." Now tell us we're wrong. Siemens certainly doesn't think so, and so they've teamed up with Porsche Design to fulfill the need.</p>
<p>The TT911P2 2-Slice (it's even got the number 911 in there) is eye candy, but it's not <em>just </em>eye candy. It features an LED display that tells you how long it'll take to toast your bread, with eleven different settings for how dark you want your toast. It's got cool wall technology (not like the one on <em>Top Gear</em>, though there are plenty of Porsches on there too) so that the machine stays cool to the touch while your wonderbread gets the spa treatment by a state-of-the-art quartz heating element. Heck, it'll even remember what setting you used last time. All that adds up to serious performance of Porsche caliber. Your breakfast will never be the same.</p>

<p>With both the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/13/first-drive-2008-porsche-rs-60-spyder/">Boxster RS 60 Spyder</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/15/la-2007-porsche-cayman-s-porsche-design-edition-1-is-ultimate-d/">Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1</a> already sold out, Porsche is moving on to its next pair of special edition mid-engine sportscars. Both of the new exclusive models feature a boost of a modest eight horsepower, but what differentiates them from their standard stablemates is more in the trim.</p>
<p>The Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 is now decked out in Carrara White, from the exterior body color and the 19" SportDesign wheels to the center console and instrument faces. Grey racing stripes and a grey roof with black leather, meanwhile, complement the white theme.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsche-cayman-s-sport-3/957980/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/cayman-sport-web.jpg" alt="" /></a>The Cayman S Sport takes more of a "GT3 Junior" approach. The car comes standard in either orange or bright green, with the scripted name popping out of the retro black stripe on the lower flank, which is complemented by black wheels, black sideview mirrors and a blacked-out interior. (Black, red, yellow, white and silver are also available for the exterior color.) The Cayman S Sport also comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a sports exhaust system, Alcantara grip trim, bi-xenon headlamps, the Sports Chrono Package and sports seats, and the ride height is dropped by fifteen millimeters.</p>
<p>Only 500 examples of the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 will be offered, along with 700 units of the Cayman S Sport. Check out the images in the gallery below and the press release after the jump for all the angles.</p>

<p>Porsche is known to have some of the best engineers in the business, constantly churning out new technologies for their vehicles. But, as we've often said - irking Porschephile commenters in the process - their designers always seem to be focusing on something else, which could go a long way towards explaining why every successive 911 iteration looks largely the same as the one it replaces. So, what is Porsche Design so busy with? Why, apparel, of course! Now we <em>know</em> that Porsche Design is not the same group of designers responsible for the cars, but it sure gets you thinking when the merchandising division comes up with new designs faster than the car folks.</p>
<p>Case in point: the latest Adidas collection from Porsche Design, marking four years of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/14/from-sportscars-to-sportswear-adidas-by-porsche-design/">collaboration with Adidas</a>. With the fashion industry already gearing up for the Fall/Winter seasons, Adidas and Porsche have come out with their latest cold-weather gear. Among the items in the new collection are the Primaloft stuffed vest, messenger bag, Tennis shoes, driving shoes and jump rope shown above - perfect for the dash from your Cayenne into the gym. <em>Press release after the jump.</em></p>

Yankee Candle should come out with an entire "Garage Line" of scents like "Winter Ether," "Hydrocarbon Bliss," or the more subtle "Mustang Interior," and "Exhaust." There's a veritable treasure trove of olfactory delight just waiting to be mined by a master nose. <a href="http://www.porsche-design.com/live/PORSCHE_DESIGN_en.PorscheDesign">Porsche Design</a> isn't waiting for someone else to cash in on this brilliant plan, and the company is releasing its own line of products called "The Essence." Porsche Design is a separate unit from our friends who screw together conveyances, and the firm focuses on industrial design when not fiddling with esters and bergamot. The scents are described as having a combination of cold metallic and warm organic tones, and will be available in aftershave, hair gel, body wash, and deodorant. Now, you can get all dolled up in your Porsche odorificness, slip on a Porsche polo shirt, and go drive that Boxster to the golf course while wearing Porsche sunglasses. Once there, of course, you'll use Callaway clubs. <em>Thanks for the tip, Tony!<br /><br /></em>[Site: <a href="http://www.acquiremag.com/life/body/cologne/porsche-design-the-essence.php">Acquire</a>]<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/31/stink-fast-porsche-design-cologne/">Stink Fast! - Porsche Design cologne</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 31 May 2008 13:41:00 EST. Nor is anything else, for that matter. Black is the new black, and always will be. That's why it's black. What white is, however, is the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/04/dupont-reports-most-popular-color-on-earth/">white-hottest color for new cars</a> these days. Porsche knows that as well as anyone else, and its merchandising division, Porsche Design, is celebrating the trend with a line of products in hot white instead of the usual black.<br /><br />The new Porsche Design White Collection is highlighted by a white version of the company's award-winning mobile phone, rounded out by items ranging from pens to jackets and laptop cases to sunglasses. Arriving just in time for a summer spent cruising around in a white 911 Turbo convertible, the collection goes on sale next month, its products available in any color you want... as long as it's white.
