For an encore, try this: the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS/4. Based on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the German tuner adds new headlights and a night vision system, more of that widebody-and-vents thing, with LEDs hidden in the vents ahead of the front wheels. The inside is bathed in leather, Alcantara, and carbon, and the rear bench is bisected by a center console. The package is lowered on 22-inch wheels and is powered by a 750-horsepower engine.

If you want to turn the volume on your tuned Cayenne down a bit, then try the Gemballa GT 500 Aero 3, which wears less ostentatious aero lowered over 22-inch wheels, a new exhaust, and a revised interior.

Both SUVs are slightly tweaked and repainted versions of the Tornado 750 GTS and GT 500 Aero 3 that Gemballa released earlier this year. Techart Porsche Cayenne Turbo - Click above for a high-res image gallery

There's something magical about 200 mph. The double century has become a benchmark for modern supercars, although it takes just as much courage as pavement to do the deed. As we found out at World Class Driving earlier this year, sometimes that isn't even enough. Techart, the well-known German Porsche tuner, recently headed to the Nardo test track in Italy to see if they could break the 200 mph mark in one of its more unlikely speed demons: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Obviously, an SUV isn't exactly the ideal vehicle to reach terminal velocity, but it seems to be a popular trend lately. Just last week we told you about the Brabus GLK V12 that reached 200.3 mph at Nardo thanks to its 750 horsepower twin-turbo V12. The Techart Cayenne Turbo with just 680 horsepower wasn't quite as fast -- 321.2 km/h or 199.5 mph, but seriously impressive nonetheless. Techart is still declaring a world record, though, claiming the title of the planet's fastest "full size" SUV. Trivial? Yes. Pointless? Undoubtedly. But wealthy soccer moms that rejoicing during their daily commute on the autobahn. Learn more about the Techart Cayenne Turbo and its record-breaking top speed run after the jump.

ENCO Exklusive Gladiator 700 GT Biturbo - click above image for hi-res gallery

Or at least it looks that way. Maybe it's mad that the new BMW X6 M is stealing all the Porsche Cayenne's uber SUV thunder? Or maybe the Gladiator is mad 'cause ENCO Exklusive dressed up the "Zuffenhausen" Bull in a Bugatti-like two-tone (and silly looking) black and crimson paint job? Regardless, if you're a fan of buck wild SUVs, you be hard pressed to find a more extroverted aftermarket example.

And just check what ENCO did to the stock Cayenne Turbo's engine - bigger turbos, freer-flowing exhaust, high performance cats and some new manifolds adds up to just about 700 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. As ENCO says of the 700 GT Biturbo when it's at full gallop, "the Gladiator carries such an incredible amount of kinetic energy that a bazooka could hardly stop it." You know what? That would be fun to try.

The brakes are equally kooky, especially up front - 16.1 inches, twelve piston calipers. But how do you fit such a massive stopping system into a wheel? Make sure said wheel is twenty-three inches in diameter. Even with those alloys, ENCO found a way to lower the ride height by about two inches. Not only that, they took four of the carbon fiber bucket seats from the GT3 RS and stuck 'em in the cabin. We have to say that four sport buckets are the way to go, regardless of the car. You'll also notice that the interior is liberally doused with bright carbon fiber. So much, in fact, that you might think for a second ENCO was concerned about weight (they're not - the Gladiator still weighs 5,000 pounds).

So there you have it, the Gladiator 700 Biturbo is about as close to a four-seat GT3 RS as you'll ever see. Unless ENCO - or Porsche - decides to do a Panamera. Anyhow, have fun in the comments and remember that beauty is but skin deep and in the beholder's eye, etc. In fact, let's just coin a new term - this here ENCO is all SEMA'd out. Full release after the jump, high-res glory below.
If you have a Cayenne Turbo, TechArt can make the power thing happen for you as well (with or without the aero kit, presumably). They're also more than happy to trick out your interior and modify your Cayenne's active suspension (on trucks so equipped) to drop the lowest ride height an additional 30 mm. It's all business as usual at TechArt, where the only real constraint is the size of your child's college fund.

[Source: Techart]

Gallery: Techart SUV kit for 2008 Porsche Cayenne

Continue reading TechArt offers up aero kit for '08 Porsche Cayenne

TechArt offers up aero kit for '08 Porsche Cayenne originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 20 Sep 2007 08:37:00 EST. In addition to the expected static displays, MPH '06 ups the motor show ante by incorporating a Jeremy Clarkson-hosted live demonstration of supercars like the Magnum in a theatrical setting (see video). This gives showgoers the opportunity to see the cars in all their tire-smoking powersliding glory.

To rewind a bit: the Magnum made its official debut at last year's Frankfurt show, and benefits from the fitment of larger turbos, a new intercooler, TechArt intake and exhaust, new air filter and a reprogrammed ECU. Complementing the SUV's 600 horses is a healthy 638 lb ft of torque. 62 mph arrives in a scant 4.5 seconds and the top speed is a ridiculous 181 mph.

Equally ridiculous, unfortunately, is the TechArt body kit that turns the Magnum's front end into a busy mess. We know that the Cayenne is not exactly an easy starting point, but a look that works for the Cayman does not fare nearly as well here. Too bad, because from the rear and sides, the Magnum looks sharp. Hopefully, the refreshed Cayenne will give tuners more to work with up front.

All that said, we'd gladly pay the price of admission to see the Magnum shriek across the stage as Clarkson dishes out the one-liners. 600 horses is a lot, and like we said, TechArt knows what it's doing. Should be a helluva show.

(Rear view shot, press releases after the jump)

[Sources: MPH '06 / TechArt]
Continue reading TechArt Magnum: 600HP Cayenne Turbo to appear at MPH '06

TechArt Magnum: 600HP Cayenne Turbo to appear at MPH '06 originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 16 Aug 2006 11:02:00 EST.
