Yesterday, we got to see the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V, and today we have video of one of the missions. But wait just a second - this isn't a video game, it's real life.

An in-car video camera has captured footage of two unnamed Brazilian police officers going after some bad guys on a remote runway, Cops-style. One officer can be seen firing a machine gun, just before the driver rams the wing of a plane in an effort to prevent it from taking off.

According to the Associated Press, a Brazilian federal police spokesman indicates that the pilot and four others were arrested, but nobody was hurt in the takedown. The video does appear to show plenty of contraband electronics that were seized from the alleged smugglers, however.

You're a Miami police officer, so high-speed blasts down the highway probably aren't anything new to you. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that when you're late to your off-duty moonlighting gig, you'd run your marked, Miami-Dade Police cruiser up to 120 miles per hour through traffic and do whatever it took to clock in on time, right?

For officer Fausto Lopez, this also means leading an on-duty Florida Highway Patrol police officer on a five-minute chase down the turnpike when she wanted to pull him over for reckless driving. And since it's hard to get to work in handcuffs, we imagine Lopez didn't make it to his gig at the appointed hour.

There are two videos of the tense incident after the jump, the first is an ABC News report, the second is priceless dash-cam footage of the pursuit. As Lopez is being cuffed, he apparently says, "Oh man, I can't believe this." He's not the only one. Lopez is apparently only been charged with one count of reckless driving.
Continue reading Watch the Florida Highway Patrol chase down a speeding Miami cop in his own squad car

Watch the Florida Highway Patrol chase down a speeding Miami cop in his own squad car originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 31 Oct 2011 12:31:00 EST.
God willing, you will never party this hard. Police in Bainbridge, Ohio were recently led on a high-speed chase that saw a renegade driver clocked at 110 mph. According to Cleveland's Fox 8 News, after officers deployed spike strips to bring the fleeing sedan to a halt, they were met with a mostly nude, very intoxicated woman. The driver was wearing nothing but a g-string, a pair of tennis shoes and the skin she was born with. Police were eventually able to get the 28-year-old unruly nudist into the back of a cruiser (with some more clothes on), where she proceeded to go ballistic, attempting to kick out the cop car's rear window.

Erin B. Holdsworth has since been charged one count each of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing a blood-alcohol test, fleeing and eluding, criminal damaging, driving on a suspended license, speeding and, our personal favorite, reckless operation. Holdsworth was later released and is set to appear in court on November 2. Hit the jump to see a video of the pursuit and detention of Ms. Holdsworth.
Continue reading Ohio woman leads police on triple-digit topless car chase

Ohio woman leads police on triple-digit topless car chase originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 12:30:00 EST.
The 2011 Isle of Man TT has come and gone. Like everything in this day and age, it will continue to live on thanks to videos posted on the internet. One such video has nothing to do with the actual race, instead it shows a local policeman who knows how to have fun on the job.

The British Crown Dependency sees plenty of traffic around the time of the TT, and this particular cop has been tasked with directing the portion flowing through a central part of town. A crowd has gathered, and the policeman knows how to keep them entertained. He forces one rider to do a sobriety test, stages an impromptu drag race, lets another rider do a burnout while he tries to get the co-rider's phone number and basically keeps things lighthearted, much to the delight of the onlookers. Click past the jump to check out how one cop keeps things fun on the Isle of Man.
Continue reading Traffic cop at Isle of Man TT shows lighter side of policing

Traffic cop at Isle of Man TT shows lighter side of policing originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 15 Jun 2011 12:31:00 EST.
When a police officer stops you for speeding, even if they give you a ticket, they will often try to provide some sort of additional deterrent to keep you from lead-footing it again. This could be anything from mentioning the safety of other drivers to something a little sterner, like the <strike>unhinged tirade</strike> lecture this policeman gave a German tourist who was caught driving 98 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone.

And hey, it might have been a bit much, but it's not entirely false, either. And besides, despite blowing clean through the speed limit, the driver with the hidden camera didn't get a ticket (we're guessing the unidentified officer didn't want the paperwork headache that invariably accompanies international citations). Follow the jump to get schooled (*Warning: Language may be Not Safe For Work).
It's "Yes sir" and "No, sir" and "Thank you" while the officer is chastising us for whatever minor infraction we've incurred. All the while, you're thinking to yourself, "I was doing 8 mph over the speed limit. Shouldn't he be out chasing terrorists or something?"

So this video is for all of us who would have so very much enjoyed telling off the guy or gal about to make us pay potentially hundreds of dollars in fines and insurance costs just because we were in a little bit of a hurry to get to the house/work/that big sale at Autozone/etc. We held our tongues, took our punishment and probably avoided higher fines or, worse, jail time.

How the alleged offender in this video manages to keep his freedom is a complete mystery. That is one patient cop, and I hope he got a raise for putting up with this driver's degrading diatribe. The man's choice of adjectives earns it a NSFW, btw.

If you like this sort of thing, be sure to check out our source, Bluetube, for more .

[Source: Bluetube]
NSFW VIDEO: How NOT to get out of a speeding ticket originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 03 Apr 2008 19:59:00 EST.
