Farboud GTS nearing delivery

Back in July we told you about the new Farboud AF10 that was shown at the British Motor Show. The new Z06 LS7-powered supercar from Arash Farboud and the rest of the gang at Farboud Sports Cars is still under development, but this item pertains to the company's first effort, the GTS.

The Farboud GTS is perhaps best known to U.S. enthusiasts via PGR3 on Xbox 360. Looking something like a Carrera GT, Exige and Koenigsegg ménage a trois lovechild, the car is finally nearing UK delivery. The company has announced that it hopes to have cars at dealerships by spring. And even better for U.S. fans, the development of the American version has been progressing nicely and U.S. deliveries should start soon after.

A dealership network including outlets in Maine, Oregon, New York and Michigan is in place and the first year production of 50 cars has already been allocated. Getting the car to comply with U.S. regulations and establishing warranty and service protocol have extended the initial delivery estimates, but it won't be much longer now according to the company.

Similar to the Nobles, the GTS is powered by a Cosworth tuned Ford V6, minus the turbo. In the Farboud the engine produces 275 hp, or 375 with the optional supercharger fitted. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but the last figure on record was just under £50,000. We can't wait to get our hands on one of these and see how it stacks up against the aforementioned Noble and other competitors.

Thanks for the tip, Mark. Cool site!

Cheap Thrills: new virtual supercars for the Xbox

Most of us are unlikely to drive a rare Ferrari 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" (above) or a Pagani Zonda F in real life (sigh), but if you're prepared to pop for an Xbox360 and Project Gotham Racing 3, the latest update for the popular video game will give you a shot at both.

Rumors about the latest "Style Pack" update to PGR3 list twelve new cars for you to try, including the aforementioned classic '70s Ferrari (nicknamed the Daytona after Ferrari's surprise 1-2-3 victory at the Daytona 24 hours, thrashing Ford's GT40s) and the modern-day Zonda F. Other rides include the RUF R.K. Spyder, a Ferrari F430 Challenge, the Gumpert Apollo Coupe and the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG. Enjoy!

Cadillac CTS-V racer promotes XBOX tie-in this weekend

Cadillac CTS-V racer in Project Gotham Racing livery
Last month, Cadillac announced its relationship with Microsoft's XBOX in the form of a downloadable expansion pack for the console's Project Gotham Racing 3 game. Gamers were given the ability to add three of Caddy's V-Series cars to the already-impressive group of rides included with the game.

This coming weekend, that relationship is going to get some high-profile exposure as the #16 CTS-V SPEED GT racing car will sport a new PGR-themed livery for the Speed World Challenge race at Infineon Raceway. Cadillac is pulling out all the stops to make sure the car does well, as Corvette Racing's Johnny O'Connell will strap in behind the wheel. O'Connell, who along with teammate Ron Fellows has won his last five ALMS races at Infineon, will see if he can work his magic with the Cadillac and finish atop the podium. Reigining SPEED GT champ and Cadillac teammate Andy Pilgrim will join O'Connell on the circuit in the #1 car.

The SPEED GT race is part of this weekend's NASCAR Nextel Cup festivities at Infineon, so a huge crowd and equally huge exposure for the Caddy/XBOX relationship are all but guaranteed.
