The recall is Nissan's second <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/15/nissan-recalls-200-000-vehicles-over-passenger-air-bag-issue/">airbag sensor-related issue</a> in the past three months. The last recall involved passenger cars including the Altima. This particular recall mainly effects vehicles sold in the northern half of the U.S. where heavy salt usage during winter months can corrode the crash sensor. The corrosion can then cause sensor interruption, which will cause the air bag warning light to illuminate. <br /><br />To fix the problem, Nissan will replace the faulty sensors with an improved sensor. Owners of 2005-2009 Xterras, Pathfinders and Frontiers that live outside of the States where the recall is in effect will receive a 10-year extended warranty on the Crash Zone Sensors. Nissan hasn't yet set a timetable for the recall, but if your air bag warning illuminates, we'd suggest heading to your neighborhood Nissan dealer right away to get it fixed. Hit the jump to see if you live in one of the states affected by the recall. <em>Thanks for the tip, Owen!</em><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/results.cfm?rcl_id=08V690&amp;searchtype=quicksearch&amp;summary=true&amp;refurl=email">NHTSA</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/07/nissan-recalls-nearly-250-000-xterras-pathfinders-and-frontier/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan recalls nearly 250,000 Xterras, Pathfinders and Frontiers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/07/nissan-recalls-nearly-250-000-xterras-pathfinders-and-frontier/">Nissan recalls nearly 250,000 Xterras, Pathfinders and Frontiers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 07 Jan 2009 07:58:00 EST. Today, it shares the ladder platform with the Nissan Titan pickup and Armada SUV.<br /><br />Speculation, however, is that the next generation Pathfinder could go back to unibody construction. Nissan isn't yet saying what it will do, but with the need to raise mileage -- as well as comfort -- a new Pathfinder CUV could be a win for everyone. And, as seen with the repackaging of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/06/detroit-2008-ford-explorer-america-concept-says-bye-bye-to-body/">Ford Explorer America concept</a>, a unibody build would give Nissan designers a lot more leeway to create something new and fresh.<br /><br />The biggest issue appears to be what to do about the Pathfinder's different buyers in other countries. In America, the Pathfinder could probably sacrifice some off-road prowess and towing capacity and not suffer too much if at all. In Africa, every bit of the Pathfinder's off-road ability gets used, and customers there wouldn't accept the compromises of a softer CUV. It wouldn't be unheard of to keep building the Pathfinder on a ladder frame for other markets while creating a new one for America. The next generation is still a couple of years away, but Nissan will announce its decision later this year.<br /><br />[Source: Car and Driver]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/">2008 Nissan Pathfinder</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/09/nissan-pathfinder-may-return-to-cuv-roots-ditch-body-on-frame/">Nissan Pathfinder may return to CUV roots, ditch body-on-frame again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 09 Jan 2008 07:27:00 EST. <p>While the Pontiac Aztek was a sales failure, it did have the ability to quickly turn into a camping appliance with a rear end that could be converted into a tent. Nissan must love the idea since it has developed a dome-shaped tent attachment for its UK utility vehicles. The tent attaches to the back, where the rear liftgate can be left ajar to provide a more open area for additional sleepers. Four adults can sleep in the 9x9 enclosure, with a couple more campers bunking in the car. The vehicle can also be easily detached from the tent if errands need to be run.</p>
<p>While tent accessory is handy, it does come at a price tag well beyond most stand-alone portable living quarters. The Navara tent costs &pound;260<strong>, </strong>and the tent for the <font size="2">Pathfinder, X-TRAIL, Murano or QASHQAI will run you &pound;460. Here in the States you can get a gently-used pop-up camper for a little more than $1,000 USD. The safety of the tent may also be a question mark, as it isn't hard to imagine a Darwin candidate turning on the car to get some heat (and carbon monoxide) into the shelter. Lets hope that doesn't happen. The Nissan press release is pasted after the jump.</font></p>

<p>Nissan's new 2008 Pathfinder hit dealerships yesterday, boasting a new design on the outside, more gadgets on the inside and more power under the hood.</p>
<p>MSRP on the '08 Pathfinder starts at $25,700 for the Pathfinder 4x2 S V6 and $27,700 for the Pathfinder 4x4 S V6, jumping up to $30,600 for the Pathfinder 4x2 SE V8 and $32,850 for the Pathfinder 4x4 SE V8. </p>
<p>All engines are mated to a standard 5-speed transmission, and Nissan's 5.6-iter V8 engine is tuned for more towing capacity with an additional 44 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque over the 4.0-liter DOHC V6. The truck shares its platform with the Titan and Armada.</p>
<p>For the technologically inclined, the Pathfinder comes with an optional navigation system and 9.3-gigabyte hard drive, dubbed the "Music Box," for MP3 storage, along with Bluetooth capability.</p>

To recap, the Titan gets a new long-wheelbase version with a 7-foot bed, as well as an off-road PRO-4X trim. The one and only engine is an updated 5.7-liter V8 now producing 317 horsepower and 385 ft-lbs. of torque, which is good for a top tow-rating of 9,500 lbs. that falls below that of the domestics and Toyota's new Tundra. <br /><br />The Armada gets a refreshened face up front, but the bigger news is on the inside where a new dash makes this full-size SUV an easier ship to sale. Finally, the Pathfinder also gets styling tweaks inside and out, but it's big news is under the hood where a 300-horsepower 5.6L V8 is now an option. <br /><br />You can check all the numerous big and little tweaks these three trucks received in the press releases located after the jump, or check at all three galleries we've assembled of available high-res images. <br /><br />[Source: Nissan]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/">2008 Nissan Armada</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/armada-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/armada-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/armada-6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/armada-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-armada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/armada-16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/">2008 Nissan Titan</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/08_titan_10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/08_titan_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/08_titan_17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/08_titan_18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-titan/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/08_titan_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/">2008 Nissan Pathfinder</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-pathfinder/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/pathfinder-9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/02/nissan-releases-more-images-and-info-on-trio-of-2008-trucks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan releases more images and info on trio of 2008 trucks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/02/nissan-releases-more-images-and-info-on-trio-of-2008-trucks/">Nissan releases more images and info on trio of 2008 trucks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 02 Feb 2007 15:38:00 EST. Joining the familiar V6 is an optional 5.6L V8 that delivers 300 horsepower and a message to the domestics that Nissan's looking to swipe some of their V8 SUV customers. Count us as fans of those new 12-spoke wheels, too.<br /><br />Inside, a reshaped center stack is home to the all new switchgear, including the same audio and climate controls found in the Armada. Navigation and a hard drive-based entertainment system are available as options, and you might notice that Nissan has ditched its squared-off shifter for a classier-looking rounded unit. Check it out after the jump.<br /><br />We got an inkling that something new was coming for the Pathfinder when we saw a disguised one on the highway as we made our pre-dawn drive into Detroit proper for day 2 of NAIAS. While the changes are subtle, they look to be well-executed inside and out.<br /><br />[Source: Kicking Tires]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/01/chicago-preview-2008-nissan-pathfinder/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago Preview: 2008 Nissan Pathfinder</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/01/chicago-preview-2008-nissan-pathfinder/">Chicago Preview: 2008 Nissan Pathfinder</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 01 Feb 2007 08:33:00 EST. Ecko will market a co-branded clothing line through his Ecko Unltd. and Marc Ecko Cut &amp; Sew collections, the proceeds from which will support the designer's nonprofit organization, <a href="http://www.sweatequityenterprises.com/">Sweat Equity Enterprises</a>. In addition to the clothing line, Ecko designed a pair of SUVs -- a pathfinder and an Armada -- which will be used for promotional purposes. Ecko went to <a href="http://www.uniqueautosport.com/UAS.html">Unique Autosports</a> to turn his designs into reality. Unique, for those of you who may not be familiar with it, is Will Castro's auto customization outfit that's featured on SPEED TV's Unique Whips. As you might expect, the Ecko Nissan jobs were filmed and will be featured during the program's upcoming season. <br /><br />The Armada sports enormous laser-etched deep dish wheels, a new grille, two-tone cream and orange exterior, landau top (!), and a fully-overhauled interior done in Florentine leather to match the body's color scheme. it represents the themes seen in Ecko's more upscale Cut &amp; Sew line. <br /><br />The Ecko Pathfinder is reflective of the Ecko Unltd. brand, and as such sports a grey urban camouflage paint job that upon closer inspection reveals details like Ecko's signature rhinos, which "hide" in the camo. Shots of orange accent the grey exterior. Like the Armada, the Pathfinder gets a bit of a facelift in the form of a revised grille. Huge five-spoke wheels with orange rim lines fill up the wells and make the Pathfinder's brakes look ridiculously small. The orange-painted calipers are meant to accent the overall color scheme, but they also serve as beacons that draw your attention to the small discs they clamp down on. Inside, driver and passengers get to sit in black button-tufted leather seats, backed by polished molded wood. The center console and instrument cluster is trimmed in orange lacquer. And what would a ride out of Unique be without an utterly monstrous A/V system. The front headrests have embedded LCD screens, while the cargo area is stuffed with JBL amps and woofers. <br /><br />Unfortunately, we only have the full set of publicity shots for the Pathfinder at this time. Once we get the suite of Armada shots, we'll update the post with them as well. In the meantime, you can check out Unique's galleries of both SUVs <a href="http://www.uniqueautosport.com/ugallery.html">here</a>. <br /><br />(Photo gallery and a pair pf press releases after the jump)<br /><br />{Sources: Nissan, Marc Ecko Enterprises, BusinessWire]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/28/nissans-marc-ecko-pathfinder-and-armada-revealed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan's Marc Ecko Pathfinder and Armada revealed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/28/nissans-marc-ecko-pathfinder-and-armada-revealed/">Nissan's Marc Ecko Pathfinder and Armada revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 28 Oct 2006 09:31:00 EST. Nissan's fuel-miser will get an additional $100 stuck onto its sticker price, due to, well, we don't know why, just because. The 1.8-liter, six-speed equipped "S" model will come in at $12,550, with an automatic tranny setting you back an additional $800. The SL model with a stick comes in at $13,350, while the automatic will have an MSRP of $14,550. Add a CVT to the mix and tack on another grand.<br /><br />Now, onto the big boys.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/06/nissan-announces-pricing-on-2007-trucks-and-suvs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan announces pricing on 2007 trucks and SUVs</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/06/nissan-announces-pricing-on-2007-trucks-and-suvs/">Nissan announces pricing on 2007 trucks and SUVs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 06 Sep 2006 09:59:00 EST. We're not totally certain the above image is actually a rendering of what Mr. Ecko has planned, but Nissan says the pair of SUVs will be unveiled soon enough in October, before heading out on a cross-country tour. Hopefully they'll be stopping in Las Vegas for the SEMA Show in November so we can inspect Mr. Ecko's handiwork first hand. If all goes well, who knows? Nissan may be offering Ecko Pathfinders and Ecko Armadas in the near future.<br /><br />[Source: Automotoportal]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/28/nissan-teams-with-marc-ecko-for-pair-of-custom-suvs/">Nissan teams with Marc Ecko for pair of custom SUVs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 28 Aug 2006 14:01:00 EST.
