7Karl Lagerfeld in absurd Opel Corsa cat photo shoot making-of video

With his shock of white hair and penchant for wearing gloves and black sunglasses, fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld isn't a hard guy to pick out of a crowd. But while he is best known for designing haute couture, Lagerfeld also has a passion for photography and his cat, Choupette. Both of them are being featured in bizarre advertising for the Opel Corsa in Europe, and a new, making-of video makes the whole process look even weirder.

Though its brand portfolio may have shrunk in recent years with the loss of Oldsmobile, Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, General Motors still sells its wares around the world under a wide array of brands: Chevy, Buick, Cadillac and GMC in its home market, Holden in Australia, and a whole mess of joint-venture brands in China. This latest YouTube stunner features the usual stock characters: A guy wearing track pants, his cheap 15-year-old hatchback, and an audience egging him on. We'll not give away the entire plot, but it involves an Opel with a trailer hitch, some high-tensile cord and a two-story brick wall. Let's just say that the guy was given enough rope, barely...

4Opel will offer two factory-installed LPG models, Meriva and Corsa, in France

The least alternative of the alternative fuels – LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) – has received some good news in the expanding market in France: Opel has decided to sell two factory-converted models there. The chosen models are the Corsa and the Meriva, even though the latter will be replaced soon. The Corsa version uses a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with a 34-liter tank.
