<br />
The illustrious <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/gt+r">Nissan GT-R</a> is, quite possibly, one of our favorite cars currently in production. Now entering its third year in America, Godzilla receives a few minor tweaks for 2011, including some minor suspension tuning, a double clear coat on its front and rear fascias, new rear cooling ducts and - wait for it - slightly darker wheel center caps than on the 2010 model that is pictured. Additionally, the 2011 GT-R - henceforth only available in Premium trim - gets more standard features, including auto on/off headlamps, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, Bluetooth, a USB iPod interface and XM NavWeather and NavTraffic. All of this can be yours for $85,060 (*including $1000 destination charge), which represents an increase of $1,020 over the 2010 GT-R Premium. Get your pocketbooks out.<br />
<br />
Curiously, the folks at <a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php">Nagtroc.org</a> are reporting that just 315 GT-R units are slated to come to the U.S. during the 2011 model year. That striking us as odd, we talked with Nissan spokesperson Darryll Harrison, and he says that the automaker can't confirm the limited production volume. Hmmm. The 2011 model is just now hitting the nearly 700 GT-R certified Nissan dealers across the country, though if the unit constraint holds up, it's likely that more than half of the approved showrooms will never see one. Either way, hit the jump for the full details in Nissan's press release.<br />

Although next year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/23/in-the-autoblog-garage-2009-nissan-gt-r/">Nissan GT-R</a> will <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/20/nissan-drops-launch-control-from-2010-gt-r/">reportedly (maybe) lose launch control</a>, it will get five more horsepower after a few electronics tweaks, going from 480 PS (473 hp) to 485 PS (478 hp), according to an official statement from Nissan UK. It will also be stickier thanks to the stock fitment of Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST tires - the same troublesome rubber that earned the GT-R its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/01/gt-r-drops-ring-time-down-to-7-29/">7:29 'Ring time</a> and the continued <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/30/porsche-accuses-nissan-gt-r-of-cheating-the-ring/">public complaints of Porsche</a> - and altered spring rate settings. <br /><br />Aesthetically, the Premium Edition GT-R gets rims in Gun Metal Grey, and the Black Edition wears the same wheels in black. And in a development straight out of a marketing roundtable, Pearl White simply wasn't cutting it as an exterior color, so it's been replaced by a "deep" white called "Storm."<br /> <br />Of course, all of this will cost you more and you'll have to wait longer: the base GT-R jumps 3.8-percent in price up to &pound;56,795, and you can tack on &pound;1,300 more for a Premium Edition or &pound;2,600 for the Black Edition. And then you can wait until 2010 for your car to arrive.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr">Review: 2009 Nissan GT-R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/nissanskylinegtr_abg_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/nissanskylinegtr_abg_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/nissanskylinegtr_abg_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/nissanskylinegtr_abg_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-nissan-gtr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/nissanskylinegtr_abg_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Nissan]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/08/european-nissan-gt-r-specs-released-with-more-power-grip/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>European Nissan GT-R specs released, now with more power, grip</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/08/european-nissan-gt-r-specs-released-with-more-power-grip/">European Nissan GT-R specs released, now with more power, grip</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 08 Dec 2008 16:59:00 EST. On Monday, July 7th, Nissan will begin delivering its first allocation of GT-Rs for the U.S. market to dealers. According to a Nissan spokesperson, the 70-percent preorder rate for the GT-R exceeded the automaker's expectations, and we somehow doubt Nissan will have a hard time finding buyers for the remaining 30 percent.<br /><br />Pricing for the GT-R remains the same, with the base model coming in at $69,850 and the premium model listed at $71,900. Destination and handling costs amount to $1,000 and the only options available on the 2009 model are an iPod converter ($360), GT-R floor mats ($280) and the "Super Silver" special paint ($3,000). <em>Make the jump for the press release.</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1">Nissan GT-R (US-spec)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/2009_gt-r01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/2009_gt-r010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/2009_gt-r011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/2009_gt-r012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-us-spec-1/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/2009_gt-r013_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r">First Drive: 2009 Nissan GT-R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_ab_first_drive_gt-r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_ab_first_drive_gt-r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_ab_first_drive_gt-r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_ab_first_drive_gt-r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-nissan-gt-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/05_ab_first_drive_gt-r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/27/nissan-gt-r-deliveries-begin-july-7th-70-percent-spoken-for/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan GT-R deliveries begin July 7th, 70-percent spoken for</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/27/nissan-gt-r-deliveries-begin-july-7th-70-percent-spoken-for/">Nissan GT-R deliveries begin July 7th, 70-percent spoken for</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 27 Jun 2008 15:28:00 EST.
