The current Prius is baked from a refined recipe that results in a roomy, practical and efficient vehicle lurking under an eco-statement exterior, or at least we thought so. Ever see a car smile? It sure looks like that's what this redesigned Prius is doing testing out in Death Valley, as captured by KGP Photography and posted to Jalopnik. The vehicle as seen is not all that different from the current Prius model, just with a grinning grill and some changes to the headlights. Toyota is working on a redesigning the current model before the (delayed) next-generation Prius hits the streets.
Never content to rest on their laurels, Toyota has been applying kaizen to the Prius. Look for their next high-efficiency space capsule to bow in 2008 with significant tweaks and tweezes. The body shape remains familiar, though in actuality it's totally changed. Width is expected to grow an inch, while length will shrink the same amount.
