<br />
A <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/22/in-the-autoblog-garage-lamborghini-murcielago-lp640/">Lamborghini Murci&eacute;lago LP640</a> starts at around $350,000 and can quickly crest $400,000 with the addition of a few options and a dropable top, and the LP640-4 <em>starts</em> at $450,000. That's a lot of coin to be sure, but in the spirit of pulling together to ride out this whole "recession" thing, Lamborghini is looking to ease the blow of $7,000 per month financing with a new 0% offer for the 2009 and 2010 Murci&eacute;lago coupe and roadster. The Italian supercar maker is offering 0% for up to 60 months for customers with credit scores over 740 and down payments somewhere north of 10% (the press release doesn't provide an exact number). That's a pretty big bargain considering a buyer picking up an LP640 for $400,000 with $80,000 down (20%) for $5,333.33 per month over 60 months, while the typical 5.9% interest rate would bring the monthly payment to $6171.63 with $50,297.67 in accumulated interest over the course of the loan. <br />
<br />
Lamborghini is also offering 5.9% interest for up to 12 years for customers with 10% down and a credit score of 700. That makes for a monthly payment of about $3,500 per month on a $400,000 LP640, with $143,000 in interest over the course of the loan. While those loan terms sound all right to us, we're sadly still a bit short on funds for the Autoblog garage. Hit the jump to read over the Lamborghini presser.<br />

<br />
The Lamborghini Murcielago may be getting old, but the raging bull still has some fight left in it. Some figure it just needs a little encouragement. Like JB Design. <br />
<br />
The German tuning house has released a comprehensive tuning package for the LP-640 that leaves no stone unturned. The engine can be upgraded to 714- or 750-horsepower specifications. The shift paddles have been replaced with an F1-style rocker lever. An extensive carbon fiber aerodynamic package includes front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser, front air intake side skirts, and front and rear hoods. The wheels have been swapped out for 20-inch Schmidt Revolution alloys with steamroller Michelin rubber. The interior has been refinished in custom leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber trim. The stock exhaust has been replaced by an adjustable system. And the body has been re-sprayed in a custom paint that costs 280,000 euros per liter ($414k).<br />
<br />
The cost of the modifications runs half a million euros (about $740k), but JB Design is looking to offload this particular demonstration car for 355,000 euros ($525k). Such a deal. Follow the jump for the full details in the press release and check out the images in our high-res gallery below.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Lamborghini Murci&eacute;lago LP640 by Premier4509 - Click above for high-res image</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> The end of Murci&eacute;lago is upon us. The steel-framed supercar from Sant'Agata has been on the market since 2001. Since then, Lamborghini has produced over 3,000 of them. But only 350 are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/08/pics-aplenty-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> spec, and you can bet the other 2,650+ owners are jealous. However, while the SV's 670-horsepower engine remains the exclusive purview of the most extreme Lambo to date, one aftermarket firm has risen up to the challenge of giving existing "base" Murci&eacute;lago owners the coveted look of the SuperVeloce.<br /> <br /> You may remember Premier4509 for producing body kits for such exotics as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/21/premier4509-launches-kit-for-outgoing-lamborghini-gallardo/">Lamborghini Gallardo</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/01/premier4509-announces-bentley-continental-gt-aero-body-kit/">Bentley Continental GT </a>and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/25/premier4509-limited-edition-body-kit-for-aston-martin-v8-vantage/">Aston Martin V8 Vantage</a>. Japanese tuner fanboys and gamers may sooner recognize its parent company, VeilSide. But the Japanese outfit has now released a simple visual mod for the Murci&eacute;lago to give it that SV look. Essentially all it is - for the time being at least - is a new bumper, blacked out on bottom and protruding like a cowcatcher. Coupled with a big rear wing and blacked-out quarter-panel intakes and mirrors, though, and it's a dead ringer SV. <br /> <br /> Premier4509 says they've got an accompanying rear bumper in the works as well, and will only produce 300 examples of the body kit, so there's another couple thousand Murci owners still left out in the cold. And while it may not have the power advantage, even an "ordinary" Murci&eacute;lago won't stick around long enough for anyone to notice.<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.premier4509.com/">Premier4509</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/08/premier4509-gives-your-lamborghini-murcielago-the-sv-look/">Premier4509 gives your Lamborghini Murciélago the SV look</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 08 Oct 2009 18:00:00 EST. <strong><br /> </strong>People shouldn't dance on other peoples' exotic supercars. Heck, nobody should ever dance on someone else's Ford Escort Wagon. Unfortunately, Tom Green and Steve-O of Jackass fame didn't learn that lesson in common sense class and the air intake of a very expensive Lamborghini Murci&eacute;lago paid the price. At least the vehicle reportedly belongs to someone the two dimwits know, as celebrity gossip site TMZ says that it belongs to the pair's rap producer. <br /> <br /> We have absolutely no idea why the two have a rap producer, and we don't care. Among them all, the one that claimed most of our attention was that the next boss bull will "be wider and longer." The length isn't such a big deal, but the current LP640 already approaches the opposite of narrow, and it's already superbly planted. If that part is true, we don't know what the extra width would do except to make the car... well, wider. <br /><br />Design-wise, if the publication's rendering is to be believed, the Murci will get a lot of Gallardo and Revent&oacute;n up front. A trim strip of LEDs (458 Italia, anyone?) would replace the current multi-lamp unit, in front and back. The front intakes look to be lifted straight from its littler sibling, and the rear screams "Estoque!" - in a good way.<br /><br />AE suggests that the construction will be Audi spaceframe-esque, with a complete carbon fiber body (shedding the current steel roof and doors). With less weight and an expected jump to 700 horsepower, that ought to be enough to get the Murci to 60 mph in three ticks of the second-hand. AE posits that the car will retain its four-wheel-drive and will adopt stop-start and energy regeneration, the first in the family to do so. Expect to see it - and hear it roaring to life at valet stands everywhere- in 2012.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/241075/next_murcilago_gets_in_shape.html">Auto Express</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/03/rendered-speculation-next-murcielago-will-be-gulp-longer-an/">Rendered Speculation: next Murcielago will be (*gulp*) longer and wider</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 09:27:00 EST. <br />
Sure, there are some cars on the road more bonkers than the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/murcielago">Lamborghini Murcielago</a>. But not many. After all, how do you best over 570 horsepower driving all four wheels? Well, how about nearly doubling the output and channeling it all through half the wheel count? That's exactly what Heffner Performance has done with its twin-turbo upgrade for the aging raging bull. By bolting on a set of turbochargers, the Sarasota, Florida-based tuning garage has boosted the corral up to 1,100 horsepower, all driving through the rear wheels. <br />
<br />
As you can see from the photos in the high-res image gallery below and the pair of videos after the jump, the craftsmanship looks flawless. But it's the acceleration that really boggles the mind. With that much power channeled through two wheels, we don't want to ask about the standstill sprint to 60 mph, but Heffner's given us a hint at the twin-turbo Murci's in-gear acceleration times, which is really what it all comes down to. A stock Murcielago can jump from 60 miles per hour up to 130 in 9.5 seconds. Pretty impressive, but that's just for reference. The Heff? 5.1 seconds. In 90-degree heat. With "only" 950 horsepower dialed in. With all 1,100, Heffner figures she'll do it in less than four. <br />

<span style="float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 7px;"> <script> var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/Corvette_ZR1_Chasing_Lambo_LP670_4_SV_Around_Millbrook_VID'; </script> <script src="http://digg.com/api/diggthis.js"></script></span> On Monday we shared a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/10/video-monday-afternoon-corvette-zr1-chase/">very nifty video</a> of the lads at <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/VideosWallpapers/Videos.aspx?AR=242044&amp;Mode=B"><em>Autocar</em></a> and a fire-breathing Blue Devil corvette chasing <em>something</em> around the hill route at Millbrook. Obviously, speculation was rampant about what sort of car had the camera strapped to it. Some folks went ahead and checked out <em>Autocar </em>since it was their video, others simply guessed. Results: Some of you were right! Others, very wrong. But, like the good parents that we are, Autoblog loves all of you equally. Moving on.<br />
<br />
I'm going to go a little inside baseball for a moment, so <strike>bare</strike> bear with me. Yes, <em>Autocar</em> revealed that the chase car was indeed a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce about two weeks ago. Trouble was, the clip wasn't on YouTube, meaning that we couldn't share it with you here on Autoblog. A questionable decision, but a decision, nonethelss. Anyhow, look - a <em>Chevy Corvette ZR1 chasing a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV around a track!!!</em><br />
<br />
This really is an unbelievable video. First of all, you got two of the hottest cars in the world. Second, the Lambo should be a bit quicker than the ZR1, right? It has around 30 more horsepower, weighs about 60 pounds less and has AWD, allowing it to exit corners more quickly. Plus, the Lamborghini has a factory driver at the helm while the Corvette is being piloted by (gulp) an auto journalist. Only thing is, well... watch for yourself, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/13/video-the-corvette-zr1-was-chasing-a-lambo-lp670-4-sv-around-mi/">after the jump</a>. One more thing - not counting the "joke's on you, rich people!" Reventon, the LP670-4 SV is Lambo's most expensive vehicle and the ZR1 is (obviously) Chevy's. Can you image a race between the two brands' cheapest vehicles? Aveo vs. Gallardo LP560-4 strikes us as very funny.<br />

<div align="center"><strong><em><small>Lamborghini Reventon - Click above for high-res image gallery</small><br /></em></strong></div>
<br />Just four short months ago <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/26/could-lamborghini-be-preparing-a-reventon-roadster/">a rumor surfaced</a> that Lamborghini would be making a topless version of its hottest model, the F22-inspired Reventon. Word is that today Lambo is showing off its most expensive ever ragin' bull to a super select cabal of people so wealthy that we'll never understand. Based on the Murcielago, the original carbon fiber Reventon was limited to 20 units (plus one for the museum) and cost just about $1 million. And therein lies the problem. As a Reventon owner, you have a 19 out of 6.5 billion chance of running into another person driving the same car as you -- not exclusive enough.<br /><br />This is where the new drop top Rev comes in. Limited to just nine examples makes the new Lambo more than twice as exclusive. As its price will climb to $1.6 million, it had better be. Besides losing the roof, the Reventon Roadster will be more powerful than its hard-top cousins, as the convertible will get the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SV's</a> stonking 6.5-liter V12 good for 670 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. You know, we could get used to this whole filthy rich thing.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/">2008 Lamborghini Reventon</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.egmcartech.com/2009/07/29/rumor-lamborghini-reventon-roadster-revealed-today-to-a-select-few/">eGMcartech</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/30/lamborghini-reventon-roadster-revealed-to-a-few-well-heeled/">Lamborghini Reventon Roadster revealed to a few well-heeled?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 30 Jul 2009 13:01:00 EST. <br />Reiter Engineering used last weekend's 24 Hours of Spa race to reveal its Murcielago LP670 R-SV, a GT1 race-ready version of the already hardened LP 670-4 SV. The box-stock Lambo already shed 220 pounds compared to its non SV brethren, weighing in at 3,451 pounds. The Reiter racer, stripped of any non-essentials and with a body rendered entirely in carbon fiber, drops further 921 pounds to weigh in at just 2,530 pounds (1,150 kg). <br /><br />Reiter is hoping the car will be one of the six allowable brands chosen for next year's FIA GT World Championship. <div align="center"><strong><small><em><strong>Lamborghini LP670-4 SV - Click above for high-res image gallery</strong></em></small><br /></strong></div>
<strong> <small><br /></small></strong>We were a bit shocked to see the newest Lamborghini supercar at our favorite weekly car gathering in Southern California this weekend. After debuting at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Geneva-Motor-Show/">Geneva Motor Show</a> back in March, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SV</a> skipped the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/New-York-Auto-Show/">New York Auto Show</a> and had its U.S. unveiling at a private event in Las Vegas recently. The guys at Lambo evidently figured Irvine was only a couple of hours away, so they swung by Cars &amp; Coffee to show it off. It received quite a bit of attention, although the crowd couldn't convince the Lambo rep to drift it <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/">&agrave; la Hubinette</a>.<br /><br />As we've told you before, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/officially-official-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">newest Murcielago</a> derivative gets a bump in horsepower compared to the 670, while torque stays the same at 487 lb&middot;ft. Combined with a 220-pound weight shaving, that's good enough to drop the 0-62 mph sprint to just 3.2 seconds and raise the vmax to 212 mph. Unless, of course the car has the optional, larger, fixed "Aeropack Wing," which this one does. That limits top speed to "just" 209 mph, but adds just the right amount of ostentatiousness this Lambo deserves.<br /><br />The LP670-4 doesn't look like your average Murci&eacute;lago in other ways, either. It features many of the styling cues first deployed on the mega-spendy Reventon. Up front the air intakes have been made larger for better brake cooling and the front spoiler extends much farther. A new engine cover also features a similar triple hexagon transparent polymer plate setup on a bed of carbon fiber. The interior has also been upgraded with a revised dash and Alcantara throughout, which features stitching that matches the exterior color of the car. <br /><br />We couldn't coax the driver into letting us take it for a spin, but hopefully we'll get one for a review before the temp in Hades dips below 32. Check out our latest gallery below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/">Lamborghini LP670-4 SV at Cars and Coffee</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><strong><br /><em><strong><small>All photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://www.frank4cars.com">Frank Filipponio</a>/Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/20/latest-lamborghini-supercar-stops-for-some-coffee-in-the-states/">Only Lamborghini LP670-4 in the U.S. unexpectedly stops for some coffee in California</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 12:38:00 EST. <br />Sam Hubinette is one lucky guy. The Crazy Swede gets sideways in an 800-horsepower Dodge Viper for his day job and does occasional stunt driving in his off time. Last year Lamborghini hired him to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/21/sam-hubinettes-lamborghini-lp-560-drifting-video/">drift the Gallardo LP560-4 in the streets of Los Angeles</a> for a commercial, and they must have liked it so much that they hired him again to burn rubber in the brand, brand new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> in Germany. The video is the first we have seen of the car outside the show floor of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Geneva-Motor-Show/">Geneva Motor Show</a>, and while shorter than the Gallardo vid, it does at least provide a soundtrack for the upgraded V12 that's now producing 670 horsepower. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-drifting-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-sv/">Follow the jump</a> to watch the video. <em>Thanks for the tip, Saikou!</em><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/">Geneva 2009: Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCJOEZO1lGA">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Hubinette drifts the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/">VIDEO: Hubinette drifts the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:29:00 EST. <br />Typical of Lamborghini special editions, the only thing that the Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce lacks is restraint. Its revised 6.5L V12 puts out 670 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque through its all-wheel-drive system, allowing the SV to rocket to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 212 mph. The Murcie's been lightened by 220 pounds and features Reventon-inspired front and rear fascias, along with a hexagonal engine cover and an "Aeropack Wing" to provide an additional bit of down-force when shooting passed the double century. <br />The 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Tokyo-Auto-Salon/">Tokyo Auto Salon</a> was loaded with the usual assortment of wild and wacky tuner fare - same as always. But tucked among the cars are hidden treasures like the wee beastie shown above. <a href="http://www.libertywalk.jp/lamborghini/custom/index.htm">Liberty Walk/LB Performance</a> are Japanese Lamborghini tuners, and in addition to showcasing a selection of the supercars they've worked on, they also showed off a couple of ATVs they re-bodied to look like <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_deformed">super deformed</a> little Murcielagos. Miniaturized dimensions, big alloys, low-profile tires - this is what Power Wheels would look like if they made 'em for grown-ups and cost $20,000. Dad, can we have one? Pleeeeeeeeeeease?<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/">Liberty Walk Lambo ATV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/small-lamborghini-(4)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/small-lamborghini-(6)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/000_lambosmush_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/001_lambosmush_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/liberty-walk-lb-performance-lambo-atv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/002_lambosmush_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.carzi.com/2009/01/13/lamborghini-murcielago-4x4-atv/">Carzi</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/23/embrace-your-inner-child-with-a-lambo-atv/">Embrace your inner child with a Lambo ATV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 23 Jan 2009 12:55:00 EST. <br />What happens when you combine a flamboyant Italian supercar with celebrity fashion designer Christian Audigier? You get... this. German tuner edo competition has teamed up with the clothing icon for a limited run of Murcielagos that feature custom design themes chosen by each customer. This ensures that each car is a one-off while simulaneously proving -- yet again -- that taste and income are mutually exclusive.<br /><br />On the positive side, the Lambo's been fitted with a completely new exhaust system along with more aggressive camshafts, upgraded cylinder heads, and a high-flow air filter that bumps output above the 700-hp mark. A new single disc clutch helps transmit the power to all four wheels, although edo also offers a conversion to rear wheel drive that shaves off nearly 90 pounds. Pricing gets a cue from the designer clothing industry, coming in at just over $690,000, nearly double the MSRP of a standard LP640. <em>Full details on the Audigier Edition Murcielago in the press release following the jump.</em><br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Lamborghini Murcielago SV</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Those who have been praying for a two-wheel drive Lamborghini, your wishes may have been granted twofold. <em>De Telegraaf</em> is reporting that Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed not one, but two different rear-drive-only Lambos for 2009. First up will be a Murci&eacute;lago LP640-2 with 640 HP coming from its mid-mounted longitudinal V12. The "2" at the end of the moniker signifies two-wheel-drive, separating it from the current LP640-4 equipped with AWD. It's still possible this model will be dubbed <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/15/spy-shots-lamborghini-murcielago-sv-snapped/">SV for Super Veloce</a>. It's no <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/17/adventures-in-rare-90s-supercars-the-lamborghini-diablo-svtt/">Diablo SVTT</a> or <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/15/reiter-engineering-offers-street-legal-version-of-murcielago-r-g/">Murcielago R-GT</a>, but it'll do.<br /><br />Next up will be the a new Superleggera Gallardo LP560-2, as in Superlight Gallardo, with a longitudinal 560 HP engine in back, also driving the rear wheels. That should keep the Gallardo neck-and-neck with the Scuderia from arch-nemesis Ferrari. The elimination of the AWD equipment should save quite a few kilos and make the driving experience a bit hairier for anyone intent on stepping up to wrestle these bulls. Expect to see them late next year, possibly as 2010 models.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-murcielago-sv-spy-shots/low/">Lamborghini Murcielago SV - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-murcielago-sv-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/w_lambolp640sv_priddy2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-murcielago-sv-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/w_lambolp640sv_priddy3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-murcielago-sv-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/w_lambolp640sv_priddy4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://74.125.93.104/translate_c?hl=en&amp;sl=nl&amp;u=http://autotelegraaf.nl/vanonzeredactie/%3Fnewsid%3D2815697&amp;prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlamborghini%2B2009%2Bsite:autotelegraaf.nl%26start%3D10%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den-us%26sa%3DN&amp;usg=ALkJrhipvYQ65OEiGMvY6sIaKwceXiIBtw">Autotelegraaf.nl</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/18/rumormill-lamborghini-working-on-two-rear-wheel-drive-cars-for/">Rumormill: Lamborghini working on two rear-wheel-drive cars for 2009 </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 19:01:00 EST. <br />The benefits of motorsports usually have a way of trickling down to road cars, although in this particular case the connection is fairly direct. Reiter Engineering, the factory-backed motorsports company that competes in the FIA GT1 and GT3, recently unveiled a street legal version of its Murcielago R-GT racecar at the Essen Motor Show. The supercar features race-oriented modifications including a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear wing, OZ Racing wheels, and upgraded brakes and suspension components. Reiter also added a new rear fascia, and moved the exhaust system up towards the rear deck lid. Apparently the show car is a one-off, although word has it that it can be had for the right amount of money, and the individual components on the car are also available for purchase.

<p align="left">As we all know, there are supercars, and then... there's the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. It has been called old and overweight, it has been called impractical and overpriced, it has been called out for its propensity to make 10-year-old boys lick its windows. When we got word that the LP640 would be stopping by the Autoblog Garage for a weekend, it was our chance to see if the childhood dream was still potent enough to answer adult desires. We've driven the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/28/first-drive-bugatti-veyron/">Bugatti Veyron</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/28/in-the-autoblog-garage-bentley-continental-gt-speed/">Bentley Continental GT Speed</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/06/pinch-us-autoblog-drives-the-2008-porsche-gt2/">Porsche GT2</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/19/autoblog-first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/">Corvette ZR1</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/08/first-drive-2008-dodge-viper-srt10-acr/">Dodge Viper ACR</a> and even Lambo's own <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/19/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/">Gallardo LP560</a>, and they were showstoppers. But when we finally met this Lambo, we had only one thing to say: Great googlymoogly!<br /></p>

All-wheel-drive, which has become an integral part of the "Lamborghini DNA" will continue, but when asked about the future of dual-clutch transmissions, Regginai simply said, "we have top performance in 0-100 kph with our cars, I don't understand why we'd want to change anything."<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/">2008 Lamborghini Reventon</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/reventon_2008_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/Industry-News/VW-group-design-future/?&amp;R=EPI-6269">CAR</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/24/reventon-style-for-future-lamborghinis-lightweight-architecture/">Reventon style for future Lamborghinis, lightweight architectures planned</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 24 Jun 2008 16:03:00 EST. Autocar has spied what's believed to be the Lamborghini Murcielago SV, a lightweight version of the Italian automaker's top model that will be sending its additional ponies to the rear wheels alone. <br /><br />Based off the current range-topping LP640, the SV will putting out around 680 hp from its mid-mounted V12 and will tip the scales under 3,500 pounds. The weight savings will come from the abandonment of the front differential and drive shafts that would normally also power the front wheels, along with nixing the <strike>ICE</strike> <em>stereo</em> and the system that raises and lowers the rear spoiler. Naturally, plenty of carbon fiber is part of the equation, including the doors, smaller rear wing and other assorted parts.<br /><br />There's no word on when the Murcielago SV will debut, but we've got a five-spot on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Paris-Motor-Show/">Paris Motor Show</a> later this year.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Lamborghini-Murci%C3%A9lago/232171/#">Autocar</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/10/spy-shots-lamborghini-working-on-rwd-murcielago-sv/">Spy Shots: Lamborghini working on RWD Murcielago SV?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 10 Apr 2008 15:56:00 EST.
