After watching <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/14/video-nsfw-more-scenes-from-jeremy-pivens-em-the-goods-em/">a few previews</a> for the Jeremy Piven comedy <em>The Goods</em>: <em>Live Hard, Sell Hard</em>, we were sold. After all, the movie showcases a hilarious cast, and it's about selling used cars. How can you possibly script a movie about super-elite used car salespeople that travel the country bailing out downtrodden dealers and not make it amusing? And those trailers, man were they funny - especially the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/14/video-nsfw-more-scenes-from-jeremy-pivens-em-the-goods-em/">raunchy, restricted viewing clips</a>. <br /><br />With visions of plaid suits and added-cost paint sealants dancing in our head, we hurried out to the nearest cineplex this weekend to see if <em>The Goods</em> was good enough to take its place in the illustrious pantheon of car salesmen flicks. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/16/movie-review-the-goods-live-hard-sell-hard/">Hit the jump</a> to see how the movie unfolded and to take part in our film poll.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/18/movie-review-i-the-goods-live-hard-sell-hard-i-warning-s/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Movie Review: <i>The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard</i> *Warning: Spoiler Alert* [w/POLL]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/18/movie-review-i-the-goods-live-hard-sell-hard-i-warning-s/">Movie Review: <i>The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard</i> *Warning: Spoiler Alert* [w/POLL]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 18 Aug 2009 15:41:00 EST. <br />We played with Transformers as kids and have a considerable appetite for anything automotive, making the second installment of the Transformers film franchise a must watch in an otherwise uninspiring summer blockbuster season. While we didn't dare hope for a compelling story line, we were pretty sure Director Michael Bay wouldn't let us down with regards to special effects. We hit the theater to see if <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> lived up to the considerable hype, and basically got exactly what we expected. Hit the jump to check out our brief review.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen">Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/26/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-great-action-even-worse-sto/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em><em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> - Better action, worse storyline</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/26/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-great-action-even-worse-sto/"><em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> - Better action, worse storyline</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 26 Jun 2009 12:57:00 EST. That knowledge doesn't make <em>Truth in 24</em> any less fascinating, dramatic, or exciting. The story of Audi's 2008 effort at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, <em>Truth in 24</em> provides a very rare glimpse behind the scenes as Audi Motorsport prepares for, competes in, and ultimately wins the world's most famous endurance race. Audi went to NFL Films to make the movie, and director Keith Crossrow has applied that outfit's uniquely compelling storytelling ability to motor racing -- a sport he was largely unfamiliar with by his own admission. The results, fortunately, make for one Hell of a watch.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/13/review-audi-and-nfl-films-find-i-truth-in-24-i/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>REVIEW: Audi &amp; NFL Films find <i>Truth in 24</i></em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/13/review-audi-and-nfl-films-find-i-truth-in-24-i/">REVIEW: Audi &amp; NFL Films find <i>Truth in 24</i></a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 18:57:00 EST. We were among the guests at a Ford preview screening of the new Bond flick last night, and after we walked past the gorgeous Aston Martin DBS placed in the lobby (talk about product placement), the movie got off to a promising start. The opening chase sequence with Bond's DBS being pursued by a crew of Alfa Romeo 159s was classic 007. In fact, the first third of the movie was actually quite promising. Unfortunately, my wife, who is a film buff, noticed something during the opening credits that is usually a bad omen: three different screenwriters. That's typically a sign that other writers had to be brought in to fix the original script. <br /><br />In this case there were a number of plot elements that seemed to pop up and then be forgotten, while others seemed to appear with no explanation. It's almost as though the three writers were each assigned one act to write and not allowed to read the work of the other two. Given that Ford hosted this screening, it should come as no surprise that Ford vehicles figured prominently. Fortunately, having multiple brands in the family allows for some extra variety in the movie vehicle fleet. While the Ford Edge dominated after the opening, Volvos, Range Rovers, and Jaguars also appeared. Now that Aston Martin, Land Rover and Jaguar have been divested, it seems unlikely that Ford will be a part of the next Bond Film. What about the stuff besides the cars? Read on after the jump.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8">Quantum of Solace</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/qos-wallpaper-1-lg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/qos-wallpaper-2-lg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/qos-wallpaper-3-lg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/qos-wallpaper-4-lgb_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-8/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/qos-wallpaper-6-lg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/13/autoblog-goes-to-the-movies-no-solace-in-this-quantum/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Autoblog goes to the movies: No solace in this quantum</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/13/autoblog-goes-to-the-movies-no-solace-in-this-quantum/">Autoblog goes to the movies: No solace in this quantum</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 13 Nov 2008 10:34:00 EST.
