Väth supercharges the Mercedes-Benz C63 Black to 756 ludicrous horsepower

With 6.2 liters of capacity and 510 horsepower on tap, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series would be enough for most any speed freak to play around with. But the tuners at Väth have taken it even further with a series of modifications.

For starters, Väth has supercharged the V8 up to 756 horsepower which is able to propel the beast to 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and on to a 217-mph top speed - good for those romps down the Autobahn. A stainless steel exhaust system, as well as new cats, silencers and exhaust tips are also on offer. An adjustable suspension is part of the package, as are upgraded rolling stock - 20-inch alloys on ultra-low-profile rubber - and (thankfully) upgraded brakes to keep it all in check.

The result is the V63 Supercharged, and buyers can select the individual upgrades they desire, along with an array of interior options. Check out the full press release below for all the details.

Mercedes-Benz shows off the dark side of the C63 AMG Black Series coupe

Mercedes-Benz has rolled out a new video for its vicious C63 AMG Black Series. The 510-horsepower machine spends a little time frolicking through an industrial complex before taking to an open stretch of track for a little more fun. The entire clip is appropriately shot in black and white and set to the riotous tones of the hefty 6.2-liter V8 banging off the limiter. Not a bad way to blow two minutes of your day.

As you may recall, Chris Harris recently lined the C63 AMG Black Series up against bruisers like Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the BMW M3 GTS for a little German showdown. Harris found the C63 to be a willing dance partner with appropriate levels of presence on the street, but still found the machine out gunned by the track-bred Porsche. We are currently barreling toward the end of the week, which means there's a good chance you're looking for ways to chip away at the time card. Allow us to lend you a hand. Chris Harris recently took it up on himself to line up a three very expensive, very powerful German track-bred machines for a little showdown. With names like the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0, BMW M3 GTS and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, the half-hour clip all but guarantees some giggles. Since these are all coupes that are supposed to be able to pull double duty on the street and on track, Harris puts one and all through a two-day drive.

Day One features plenty of time on the street, where things like how quickly the dual-clutch transmission in the M3 GTS don't matter nearly as much as a functional Bluetooth phone pairing system. Of course, Day Two is the fun stuff. That's when all three sports cars are pressed around a track to see which can return the best lap time. How does it turn out? We won't spoil it for you. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series turns in 7:46 lap on the 'Ring

Democracy, said Winston Churchill, is the worst form of government...except for all the others. You might say the same of the Nürburging. Not the track itself, but the ultimate bragging rights that have emerged from comparing lap times on it. Because while there are countless factors that can affect a car's lap time over such a long circuit, it's still one of the best ways to measure a car's overall performance.

And so the comparisons carry on, especially for German cars that call the Nordschleife their backyard. This time we're looking at the latest slice of awesome wearing the Three Pointed Star, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series coupe, which has reportedly posted a 7:46 lap time at the hands of local publication Sport Auto.

Breaking the eight-minute barrier is an achievement unto itself - one which the standard C63 AMG coupe just barely missed with an 8:01 - but stands up better to comparison: In the same group test, the new Porsche 911 Carrera S barely edged it out at 7:44, while the BMW M3 GTS hit it in 7:48, placing the Black Series right in the middle of the two.

Of course, another test under different conditions, with different drivers on a different day would surely come away with different results. But in an imperfect world, these are as close as we'll get to perfect figures.

Mercedes-Benz has a hankering for cranking out powerful luxury cars all day long. The power-hungry engineers at AMG take those vehicles and play crazy games with the horsepower and torque antes. Occasionally, Mercedes and AMG let the uncorked mad scientists loose and a Black Series vehicle is born. What you're looking at above is the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series coupe making an unscheduled debut, and that cackling noise you hear is the sound of a wild-eyed, frizzy-haired engineer welcoming his creation into the world.

Rumor has it that this super coupe will pump out 517 horses and 472 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to a slight reduction in weight and a broader track, the C63 AMG Black Series should be a beast on the street and at the track. We'll wait for official figures (and some sweet sweet seat time) before providing real claims on what this two-door is capable of. Still, we're giddy just from looking at these photos.
