<br />You remember turning 20? the end of teenage years, the beginning of adulthood...that's what Subaru Tecnica International - the performance division better known by its initials STI - celebrates this year, and to mark the occasion, Fuji Heavy is inaugurating the STI Gallery, a new museum in Tokyo that highlights the products and activities of its Subaru racing unit.<br /><br />Located at 3-9-6 Osawa, Mitaka, Tokyo, the STI Gallery will be open every day (barring certain holidays) from 9:30 am to 7 pm, when visitors can stop by and scope out STI in all its glory. The car exhibition zone displays STI vehicles both past and present, race and road. (Colin McRae's WRC New Zealand-winning 1993 Legacy RS is currently on display to celebrate the launch of the new Legacy). There's also an exhibit of various components and memorabilia and a history section outlining the division's past activities. Seems like a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon if you find yourself in Tokyo with some time to burn.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090605.003/sti-gallery-opens-in-tokyo">World Car Fans</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/09/subaru-opens-sti-gallery-in-tokyo/">Subaru opens STI Gallery in Tokyo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 09 Jun 2009 16:20:00 EST. Most are pie-in-the-sky turntable models that are the brainchild of a forward-thinking designer, but the McRae team is finally bringing the concept to production.<br /><br />The McRae Enduro was created by Jimmy and Alister McRae and is currently undergoing testing by the former, a five-time British Rally Champ. Powered by the same 240 hp, 2.7-liter diesel V6 found in a handful of Land Rovers, Jags and Peugeots, the caged monster will likely find a home in the garages of wealthy Middle Easterns and private teams that will be running the one-make Pirelli McRae Enduro Trofeo.<br /><br />The "S-SUV" is currently being produced in race guise and more refined, road-ready versions are likely to go on sale later in 2009 at a cost of around &pound;100,000.<br /><br />[Source: EVO]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/25/mcrae-enduro-set-for-2008-debut-road-going-version-to-follow-in/">McRae Enduro set for 2008 debut, road-going version to follow in '09</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 25 Jan 2008 08:57:00 EST. With perhaps the most fitting gesture so far, the Scottish Subaru Impreza Drivers Club formed a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/403244/">parade of Subarus</a> outside of McRae's home in Lanark, Scotland, leaving a makeshift shrine and a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/403248/">note</a> that said, among other sentiments, "May you enjoy going 'flat out' in God's special stage." Well known drivers in other types of motorsport also followed the career of McRae, and those who have commented on his death include Formula One driver David Coulthard, legend himself Jackie Stewart, and MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi. <br /><br />[Source: Reuters, Photo by Jeff J Mitchell/Getty]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/">Mourning for Colin McRae</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/76779550_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/76779560_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/76779985_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/76780010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mourning-for-colin-mcrae/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/76780011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/17/the-days-after-mourning-colin-mccrae-1968-2007/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Days After: Mourning Colin McRae (1968 - 2007)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/17/the-days-after-mourning-colin-mccrae-1968-2007/">The Days After: Mourning Colin McRae (1968 - 2007)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 17 Sep 2007 09:31:00 EST.
