There are plenty of nay-sayers who are already shoveling dirt on Elon Musk's proposal that someone or some entity take up the design for a high-speed conveyance he is calling Hyperloop to create a 30-minute trip between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Hyundai has announced plans to build a new North American headquarters in Orange County, California. The $150 million project will take nearly two years, create a projected 1,530 new construction jobs and generate a total economic impact of around $273 million. At least that's what the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation is hoping.

Americans might know SuperRally as the Harley Davidson events, but it's actually a renaming of the European sport of RallyCross, which looks for all the world like motocross but with cars.
The news from Bob Lutz's opening keynote address for the LA Auto Show was that GM would be working with some California utilities to test a fleet of 100 Volts. But there was a lot more delivered in that speech and, in the best Lutz-ian tradition, the message was clear and simple: the Volt is GM's most important product. Oh, and he would not be addressing the abrupt resignation of GM CEO Fritz Henderson.
