Mercedes G550 Night Edition is just for Japan

The Mercedes-Benz G550 Night Edition is the latest to join the queue of limited-edition vehicles lined up for some yen. Following closely on the wheels of the Japan-only C63 AMG Special Edition, the all-Nippon version of the G-Class is limited to 100 units and will only be shown at the Mercedes-Benz Connection in Roppongi - the swanked-up, nightlife district of Tokyo.

Buyers will get a G550 in Obsidian Black with fenders from the G63 AMG hovering over dark-finish, twin-five-spoke alloys. The interior can be optioned in either Classic Red or Porcelain White Designo. It will require 13,900,000 yen to be among the 100 (roughly $142,000 US), and if you're curious, it will roll into Roppongi on April 22.

Audi shows off R8 China Edition

An Audi R8 V10 provides the latest canvas for a China-specific special edition, and to make it easier to remember, it is called the Audi R8 China Edition. There will be only eight of them, and they'll be known by their colors: either two Malibu blue with Suzuka grey sideblades, or the inverse. The 19-inch, high-gloss black wheels with five twin spokes in a "Y" motif will also be a giveaway.

This is a color-and-ornament job, no tuning tweaks here. If you do get a chance to get inside, however, instead of black leather you'll find black shark skin with contrasting stitching, along with Alcantara, plenty of carbon fiber trim and Chinese characters on the shift knob identifying the production number. This is the first time an Audi production car has been embellished with the native language, and mindful of native manners, any number that includes "4" has been removed from the serial list.

We're fans of any R8, but our favorite thing about this one might be this line in the press release from Audi China: "It's not important if it's rare, the important thing is that... you own it." You'll find that line and more just below.

Automoblox unveils three new limited editions including touching tribute truck

It's no secret that the Autoblog staff loves it some Automoblox, and one of the latest limited editions is pulling on our heartstrings. The T900 Jim Hoffman Limited Edition starts as the company's T900 pickup truck, but with an exclusive green-and-gold paint job, the cool toy becomes a tribute to a truck that figured prominently in the history of Automoblox. Patrick Callelo, company founder and designer, says the limited edition was inspired by his father-in-law's Z-71.

"The T900 Jim Hoffman Edition is interesting because the colors were inspired by our very own '95 Chevy Z-71 that has been an integral part of our business since we started. It was the daily driver of my father-in-law. He loved that truck. Right before he died he was bragging to me about his new headers and exhaust. My wife bought it from the estate to remember her father. It's been our work horse ever since."

The Jim Hoffman edition T900 features an "I'd rather be fishing" tailgate decal, is limited to a run of 750 units and for the price of $50 comes in a keepsake box perfect for Christmas gift-giving.

The other two limiteds are the C9-SE and the X9-SE. Both feature Automoblox's first use of brilliant black chrome for the wheels and greenhouse, and both are signed by Callelo. These two are also limited to 750 units and come in a keepsake box. The C9-SE goes for $40, while the larger X9-SE retails for $45.

2013 Honda Accord Coupe HFP hitting dealerships next spring

The totally new 2013 Honda Accord has just now started trickling into dealerships across the country, but here at SEMA, we're already getting our first look at what the future has in store for Honda's midsize offering. Arriving in Honda showrooms next spring is this limited-edition HFP performance edition of the 2013 Accord Coupe, and although no power upgrades are on tap, there's some extra kit that will indeed make things more interesting out on the road.

Honda's HFP upgrades start with visual add-ons like 19-inch alloy wheels and a rear decklid spoiler, and further changes are found underneath that sheetmetal with the addition of a unique sport suspension that lowers the car by 15 millimeters and enhances overall handling. Of course, no sporty Accord would be complete without the necessary body enhancements to the front fascia, side sills and rear bumper, and don't worry, there will be plenty of HFP badges on both the exterior and interior.

Speaking of interior, the Accord HFP will have red illumination found throughout the cabin as well as - wait for it - specially branded floor mats.

A Honda spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the HFP package will be available with both the four- and six-cylinder engine. We've already had a chance to drive a two-door Accord with the V6 engine, and it's seriously good. The HFP add-ons should make this a truly sweet package.

Only 500 of the Accord Coupe HFP models will be produced, and the whole package will be offered as a $4,650 option package, not including the cost of installation. Scroll down for the full details in Honda's press release.

McLaren MP4-12C Fire Black SGP Edition for Singapore, priced over $1M

Despite the fact that the design study of its all-new P1 supercar is set to debut in Paris next week, McLaren is still keeping busy selling its existing MP4-12C model. We've heard news of other special edition Macs, after seeing the one-off X-1 Concept at Pebble Beach, and now it seems that a limited edition MP4-12C will be made available for the supercar-inclined one-percenters of Singapore.

Slated to be delivered this weekend to coincide with the Singapore Grand Prix are three Fire Black SGP Edition McLaren MP4-12Cs. Very little is known about these specially modded Macs, save that they feature a unique paint scheme, matching interior, revised front and rear bumpers and lightweight wheels.

According to the rumor-dropper at Teeemspeed, each of the special-edition cars will command a whopping $1.28 million SGD (around $1.04 million U.S.) asking price. Lest you think that price is too steep for even the very capable MP4-12C, note that two of the cars have allegedly been spoken for.

Special edition 760Li celebrates 25 years of BMW 12-cylinder car engines

We don't remember our last encounter with a car that was built to celebrate an engine, but we have one now in the 2013 BMW 760Li: V12 25 Years Anniversary Edition. Created for the U.S. alone, and in a batch of just 15 cars, this 7 Series commemorates a quarter century of BMW making automotive engine blocks with a dozen combustion chambers. For a comparison of how far 25 years will take you, the 750iL with that first, naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V12 produced 295 horsepower, while the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 in today's 760Li gets 535 hp.

This special sedan wears a full merino leather interior in champagne with contrasting black wood trim, piping and floor mats, as well as leather on the pillars, a rear-seat entertainment package, Alcantara headliner and parcel shelf, 20-inch wheels and enough V12 badges throughout to start an eBay shop. Price is set at $159,695, which includes destination and is nearly $20,000 above the standard sedan. If you are one of the 15 buyers, you will certainly be able to add more options and more expense as you see fit.

Porsche announces super-exclusive 911 Club Coupe

Porsche has worked up a treat to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first two Porsche Clubs, the first of which was founded by seven gentlemen in Westphalia, Germany in 1952, and the second started by another six gentlemen a few months later. Those few enthusiasts and two organizations have grown into 181,000 members among 640 Porsche Clubs in 75 countries. In honor of those humble beginnings, Porsche has created the 911 Club Coupe.

Using the Carrera S as a base, the Club Coupe gets the Carrera S Powerkit providing an extra 30 horsepower, taking the total to 430 hp and dropping the 0-to-100-kph sprint to 4.0 seconds. The PASM option drops the car by 20 millimeters over its 20-inch Sport Techno rims, and the Sport Design package adds a new front fascia and a ducktail spoiler out back. The work is then coated in Brewster Green paint with an Espresso interior, and finished with glossy script on the doors.

The only bittersweet note concerning the 911 Club Coupe is that Porsche is making just 13 of them, and the company is keeping one for itself. The remaining 12 will be awarded to those who win the allotment lottery, entered by registering at the microsite. You have until June 16 to get your name down, and if you are among the chosen your name will be engraved on the door sill - but we assume that's after you've paid €142,831, or $175,580, before taxes for the privilege.

Camilo Pardo is a name many of you will recognize. He's the man responsible for bringing the Ford GT40 back to life in its modern Ford GT form. Besides penning beautiful automobiles, Pardo also works in other art mediums. The designer has created a very limited-edition run of prints, and the hand-signed work is available at a surprisingly affordable price. Each of the 45 prints is up on 1xRUN.com, a site dedicated to providing limited-edition artwork at low prices. The cost for each print is $80 - Pardo's other work often commands over a thousand dollars, so this is something of a bargain.

BMW releases limited Z4 Silver Top edition for Japan

BMW has a strong following in the Land of the Rising Sun, and has been gracing it with a number of special editions over the past several years. We recently reported on the 120i Performance Unlimited edition, and now BMW Japan has followed up with the new Silver Top edition of the Z4 roadster.

As you might have guessed the Silver Top is distinguished by its silver top. The contrast with the black body color gives it a rather Zagato-like profile, and the mirror housings get the same treatment. In case the look wasn't complete enough, the interior has been decked out in red leather as well. It's based on the sDrive23i trim level, pairing the 2.5-liter six with the six-speed automatic transmission.

Only 15 examples will be offered exclusively in Japan with a 5.590 million yen sticker price - about $69k by today's conversion rates - with deliveries slated to arrive in April 2011. Your best chance of seeing one, then, is likely the image gallery we've put together for your viewing pleasure, so check it out.

Report: 2011 Audi R8 GT priced from $198,000

Only 333 will be produced, so if you want a 2011 Audi R8 GT you'd better act fast. In fact, only a third of that number are slated to hit US soil. Audi has announced pricing for the R8 GT, and the limited-production sports coupe will cost you $198,000.

The most super of the R8 supercar family, the R8 GT drops weight and adds power. Audi has managed to shed 220 pounds from the standard R8 while pushing the output of the 5.2-liter V10 engine up from 525 to 560 horsepower. The car will only be offered with the single-clutch R-Tronic semi-automatic transmission. It's a shame we won't see an R8 GT fitted with the six-speed manual gearbox, but it's nice to see hi-po versions of popular cars arriving on our shores.

The Audi R8 GT is slated to hit dealer showrooms next summer.

BMW 1 Series M Coupé limited to just 2,700 units in three colors?

David Aviles, who works at Northwest BMW in Maryland, won a sales competition and so was invited to a European BMW event called The Power of M. While there, he apparently gleaned some info on the 1 Series M Coupé that, if true, is not going to make very many people happy. According to Aviles, there will be just 2,700 examples sold in either Alpine White, Jet Black or Valencia Orange Metallic, and every single one will come with a manual transmission.

BMW's been on a bit of a roll lately with special and limited edition M cars, but if Aviles' news is accurate, we didn't expect the production on this one to be choked off at such a low number. Aviles goes on to say that the U.S. will get the largest allocation, but numbers weren't disclosed. The pic above is a wallpaper rendering of the 1 Series M Coupé by Bimmerpost member Gerald, which might be the closest any of us gets to the car itself. Hat tip to Arash!

BMW's new Joy ad campaign looks to have made it to China with the M3 Tiger - or as one Autoblog commenter called it, "the M3 by Ed Hardy." Part of the continued celebration of a quarter century of M3s and the year of the tiger, the limited edition coupe took part in a photo shoot with a supporting cast so excited about the car they spend most of their time airborne.

On a more mundane note, the Fire Orange Metallic M3 will have black exterior accents and 19-inch wheels, while black Novilla leather will coat the inside and orange tiger heads are embroidered into the headrests. Only 250 M3 Tigers are set for production, and that may be 249 more than the world needs. Hat tip to Ragan!

The last time Mansory showed us one of its Rolls-Royce Ghost creations, it was OMG! drenched in blue and gold. But if you took that same car and re-hued it in white, well, all of a sudden we could be on to something. The White Ghost Limited is a three-of-a-kind special that adds a mild body kit and rear spoiler, LED running lights up front and on the mirrors, and a new dual exhaust out back.

The inside is a little more intense, but put into Mansory context next to the Bentley Vitesse Rose and Panamera Turbo, it's as subtle as an English butler. Thankfully, things are upgraded under the hood, with a 66-horsepower jump to 629 ponies and a boost of 60 pound-feet to 634. That means a 4.5-second run from zero to 62 miles per hour and a higher top speed of 180 mph. It'll run you €119,800 ($152,407 U.S.) on top of the price of the standard Ghost, but if you just prefer to window shop, there's a press release after the jump and a gallery of high-res photos below.

There was undoubtedly some freaking out at the annual Fiat Freakout held at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC this year. The Freakout is more respectably referred to as the annual gathering of Club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited, where owners and fans show their vintage love. This year, Fiat North America CEO Laura Soave personally rewarded the assembly with news that they would get first dibs on the first five hundred Fiat 500s to come to America, called the "Prima Edizione."

The special allotment will come in White, Red and Gray, get manual transmissions and special badging, and buyers will be able to choose their build number. Assuming the club members don't sponge up every one of Prima Edizione models, Fiat says it will give others a chance to get hold of one at "a later date" at www.ciaofiat.com. Black is the new black, at least when it comes to the special edition Mini Saville Row for the Japanese market. The black-as-deep-space hatch with the black roof is accented by polished chrome 17-inch wheels, gas cap, mirrors and trim outside and in. Privacy glass, bi-xenon headlights, white turn signal lamps and an anthracite headliner have been thrown into the mix as well. There will be 100 made, all with the 1.6-liter four-cylinder and automatic transmissions, costing ¥3,100,000 ($35,028 U.S.). That's a premium of about ¥400,000 ($4,519 U.S.) over the standard Mini.

There will be just 20 examples built of the even more limited edition BMW X6 Performance Unlimited, also for the Japanese market only. Inspired by BMW motorsports, the crossover gets a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder with hybrid technology running through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The body receives silver pearl paint, a BMW Performance aero package, 21-inch alloys and a blacked-out grille, the interior gets Dakota leather and brushed aluminum pedals. The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been electromagnetic when it comes to special editions, nearly as powerful at attracting check-this-option-box versions as the Ford Mustang. The next one to be rung up is the MX-5 Miyako for those roadster-loving Brits. Part of the year-long celebration of 20 years of Miata production, the "summer special edition" Miyako gets the requisite leather interior upgrade with highlighted stitching and badging, unique colors and 17-inch wheels.

It is the first special edition that you can have in both ragtop and folding tin-top forms, with 500 each available to the consuming public. It goes on sale July 1, priced from £18,385 ($27,722 U.S.) on-the-road. Canadian buyers can now get a Mazda2 with "2"s all over it, since that's apparently what you've been dying for. The Mazda2 Yozora edition wears a suit of black as well as a rear spoiler, short antenna, chrome pipe and special alloys on ~~winter tires~~ summer tires, with an additional set of steel wheels on winter tires thrown in. And a decal theme that looks like it was designed by John Nash in A Beautiful Mind. Just five hundred will be made at a starting price of $19,280 ($19,178 U.S.). Vauxhall wants to shed inventory of its old Astra bodystyle and it's using the go-to tactic of a limited special edition to do it. There will be just 500 VXR Arctic Editions will get your polar needles spinning, and the extras above and beyond the VXR trim includes a black roof, mirror housings, window tints and fascia pieces, heated leather Recaros and 19-inch alloys.

The 240-horsepower VXR Arctic starts at £23,595 ($36,019 U.S.), which is £720 ($1,099 U.S.) more than a basic VXR, but throws in another £1,245 ($1,900) in free goodies. If you still don't think you've spent enough, you can always add the panoramic roof for another £920 ($1,404). They're on sale now, and sure to be going... from 0-to-60 in 6.2 seconds...

Roush and Barrett-Jackson pair up for special edition Ford Mustang

Two years ago, Shelby produced a special edition Mustang for Barrett-Jackson in the auction house's trademark black and red colors. This year, the auctioneers are back in the special edition Mustang game, this time with Roush Performance. That means a 540-horsepower, 510 pound-feet Roushcharged Mustang riding on a Roush-tuned suspension and 20-inch chrome wheels.

The car pictured is doused in two hues from the Planet Color Barrett-Jackson Collector Color Series paints: Back in Black with a Red Hot Chili Pepper stripe. There will be 25 examples made from the 2010 'Stang, and another 25 available as a 2011 model, and customers can order them in any of the 25 special colors in the collection.

The coupe will be auctioned with no reserve at Barrett-Jackson's Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday, April 3. For those of you keen to know more, check out the press release after the jump.

In The Pink: Fiat releases special edition droptop 500C

When we saw the Abarth version of the 500C in Geneva, we were suitably impressed at how beefy Fiat's performance division could make one of its most dainty (yes, dainty) products. But like there is no light without darkness and no heat without cold, here is the opposite end of the spectrum: the Fiat 500C Pink Limited Edition.

Following on the stiletto heels of the Barbie edition and the fixed-roof 500 Pink that followed, the 500C Pink is exactly what you'd expect: even pinker than that unfortunate Mansory Bentley we saw in Frankfurt. The flip side is that one look at this car is already relieving our indigestion, and leaves us craving some sort of carnival confection.

The special color scheme extends to the exterior paint, door mirrors and interior, and is complemented by chrome trim, 16-inch alloys and a smattering of other special touches. As you can see from the press release after the jump, the limited edition commands a £13,500 price tag in the UK's comparatively price-inflated market (that's around $20,600 U.S.), representing a £1,200 premium ($1,800) over the 500C 1.2 Pop model upon which it's based, but it also carries £1,870 ($2,860) worth of options.
