Another month, another car pack for Forza Horizon. This time it's the Recaro Car Pack featuring a motley gang of cars and trucks: the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500, 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR, 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition and 2012 Lotus Exige S.

It'll be up for download on Xbox Live on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 for 400 MS Points. As usual, if you have the Forza Horizon Season Pass you can get them all free, and Season Pass holders will also get a bonus car that's not pictured: the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster.

The Pagani is everything opposite to that Vandura, but while you might not ever win anything with the van, you can always use the back of it as a place to give out free hugs. Check out the video and press release below for more details.

Lexus confirms LFA Nürburgring record with new footage

The Interwebs were recently aflutter with rumors that Lexus had set a new Nürburgring production car record with its LFA supercar. The Japanese automaker has stepped forward to lend credence those rumors... by producing an official video of the record-breaking 7:14.64 run. That figure represents a mighty quick 20.6-kilometer jaunt, besting efforts put forth by a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Nissan GT-R and even a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

Lexus used an even more limited-edition version of its already limited LFA known as the Nürburgring Edition. Only 50 examples are to be built, which represents 1/10th of total planned LFA production. The differences on this limited, limited-edition car can be found in the added aero bits, track-tuned suspension, custom wheels and an extra 11 horsepower. That extra oomph brings total power up to 563 horses, compared to the "standard" car's 552.

That power boost is clearly enough to push the LFA around the track more quickly than any production car has gone before. However, the inquisitive minds at The Truth About Cars bring up a good point with regards to "production car" records set on the 'Ring. Lexus only built 500 examples of the LFA, and just 50 of those are Nürburgring Edition cars. Should we consider that small production run enough for the car to qualify? If so, why can't we consider the times produced by a pair of Radical entries and a Gumpert Apollo Sport as part of the production class? If we do, then the LFA's time would actually fall to fourth. None of the aforementioned vehicles are mass-market units, but they are sold in the States, if in very limited numbers.

Still, we don't want to take anything away from Lexus on a truly amazing blast around this famed German circuit. Click past the jump to watch the video ride-along for yourself.

It takes a while to get around the Nürburgring Nordschleife - around seven minutes in even the fastest of machinery with the best driver behind the wheel. But apparently it takes even longer to get around to releasing a special edition Nürburgring package that makes your go-fast supercar even more track-friendly.

We're talking, of course, about the Lexus LFA Nürburgring package, ToMoCo's six-figure V10 supercar fitted with extra kit for track duty. Lexus announced last May that they'd make 50 examples, and the better part of a year later, confirmed that it would finally be unveiled to the public at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Now less than a week away from its debut, Lexus has given us some additional details and images of the car which we only saw from three angles until now.

So what do we need to know? For starters, that extra ten horsepower isn't meant to give the Nürburgring package-equipped LFA a quicker acceleration time. Nor a higher top end, either. The ten-horse boost is included to counteract the drag of the giant rear wing that helps keep the track-focused supercar glued to the Karussell. Also, while we knew the 'Ring edition LFA could be had in white, black (matte or glossy) or orange (as pictured), Lexus has also confirmed that the interior can be trimmed in all black, black and red, or black and purple (a good match for the orange exterior if you were ever formerly known as 'Prince'), and only European customers, for some reason, will get the full carbon-fiber interior.

There are more details to soak up in the press release after the jump, plus a new crop of images in the gallery below. But we'll leave you with one more salient detail: Lexus is offering buyers one-on-one instruction from a 'Ring master (or mistress) and a year's free pass to lap the Nordschleife to your heart's content. Of course, this is included in the $70,000 premium that the Nürburgring package commands over the already lofty $375,000 purchase price of an LFA. Tack on another $20K for the matte black finish, of course.

Look what our spy photographers happened to catch at the Nürburgring recently: None other than the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition. You're looking at one of exactly 50 examples on the planet (assuming this isn't some sort of pre-production mule), and we have to say that the two-tone paint and wild wing look right at home lapping it up on the Green Hell. As you may recall, Lexus hasn't exactly dished out the meaty details on specifically how much power the racier LFA produces. Instead, we're lead to believe that the glass-shattering V10 delivers "more than 562" ponies, and is equipped with race tricks like an adjustable front splitter and tweakable suspension.

Lexus decided to roll out the Nürburgring Edition to honor the car's participation in one of the most grueling spectacles in motorsports - the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Those willing to lay down the cash to get their hands on the car will receive all kinds of perks, including individual instruction on the Nürburgring itself, a year's pass to the track and a stylish track-branded jacket. Word is you can also get the car in black or white instead of orange if that hue doesn't float your fancy.
