<br />
As much as we'd love to see a convertible version of the pulse-quickening <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/is+f">Lexus IS F</a>, it doesn't appear to be in the cards. Instead, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/lexus/">Lexus</a> is offering up plenty of F-Sport accessories for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/is+convertible">IS C</a>, including the new IS350C F-Sport Special Edition which goes on sale later this month. Only 100 of these F-tuned droptops will be produced, retailing for $58,375 (including the $875 destination charge).<br />
<br />
Available in either Obsidian or Tungsten Pearl, the F-Sport isn't any more powerful than a standard IS350, but it includes things like new 19-inch wheels, a front and rear brake upgrade and Blistein shocks. Additionally, new lowering springs set the IS one inch lower to the ground, and a beefier sway bar is in place to aid in better overall handling. Inside, there's a leather-wrapped shift knob, embroidered floor mats and a numbered badge, all with F-Sport logos, of course.<br />
<br />
While this is all well and good for the IS C, we can't help but think that, at over $58K, our money would be better spent on a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/3+series">BMW 335i</a> or <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/s5">Audi S5</a> cabriolet. Still, Lexus buyers looking for a more sporting edge should like the F-Sport touches, and with only 100 units being made, we doubt the automaker will have any trouble moving them off of dealer lots. Hit the jump to read all of the details in the press release.<br />

<br />In an effort to appeal to its more performance-minded customers, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/31/sema-2007-lexus-f-sport-performance-accessories/">Lexus launched its F-Sport line of accessories at SEMA in 2007</a>. Available for the IS model, the parts ranged from a ceramic brake upgrade to a beefier clutch that could handle 15% more torque. Coinciding with the launch of its IS hard-top convertible, Lexus is also introducing a line of F-Sport accessories available for both the IS250C and IS350C that will be available at the same time the cars hit showroom floors. Parts include 19-inch forged alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, performance suspension system, high-flow air intake, exhaust systems, and more. All of the accessories have been developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and are warrantied for 12-months or for the remainder of the car warranty, whichever comes first. Follow the jump for a full list of F-Sport parts available for the new IS convertible and try to determine out who would buy them in the comments below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport">Lexus IS C F-Sport</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/098_is_c_f-sport_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/099_is_c_f-sport_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/097_is_c_f-sport_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/096_is_c_f-sport_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-is-c-f-sport/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/102b_is_c_f-sport_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/15/lexus-is-c-gets-the-f-sport-treatment/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Lexus IS C gets the F-Sport treatment</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/15/lexus-is-c-gets-the-f-sport-treatment/">Lexus IS C gets the F-Sport treatment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 May 2009 19:25:00 EST. <p>The higher-ups at Toyota may have decided to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/12/lexus-cancels-next-gen-sc-toyota-cancels-next-avalon/">axe the replacement for the Lexus SC convertible</a>, but don't get too used to the idea of a world without a wind-in-your-hair Lexus. Word has it they've given the green light to a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/26/spy-shots-lexus-is-convertible/">convertible version of the current IS sedan</a>. Of course, lopping off the doors and roof of a four-door is hardly unheard of, as that's just what Audi did to make the A4 convertible, but while that 'vert is set to be replaced by the A5 cabrio, Lexus is going the opposite direction. </p>
<p>The IS cabrio is tipped to come in 250 and 350 varieties, with Lexus reasoning that there'd be no market for an IS-F convertible. But fret not, as the same reports suggest that a lightweight IS-F sedan is on its way, again going the opposite way of the Germans as <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/27/report-bmw-cancels-development-of-e92-m3-csl/">BMW just canceled the M3 CSL program</a>. Things are about to get a whole lot busier at the Lexus plants in Tahara and Ky?sh?.</p>

Toyota's luxury arm plans to release a redesigned five-seater RX next year, based off the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/23/tokyo-auto-show-2007-lexus-lf-xh/">LF-Xh concept</a> that bowed in Tokyo, although there's no word on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/15/7-seat-lexus-rx-on-its-way/">rumored seven-seat variant</a> due out before the end of the decade.<br /><br />Naturally, no conversation about Lexus would be complete without some mention of a two-door, coupe/convertible version of the IS, a model that's been sorely lacking from the Lexus lineup, plus, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/13/leakage-lexus-lf-a-convertible/">LF-A</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/01/09/detroit-auto-show-lexus-lf-a/">supercar</a>, which should finally come to market in 2011, but may only be available in left-hand drive.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept">Lexus LF-Xh concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible">Lexus LF-A Roadster</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/11_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/46_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/16_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/01_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/12_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept">Lexus LF-A Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23484754-13232,00.html">The Australian</a> via <a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/lexus/lexus-exec-confirms-gs-f-and-entry-level-models/">Motor Authority</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/07/lexus-execs-spills-the-beans-gs-f-model-1-series-fighter-hybr/">Lexus execs spills the beans: GS F model, 1-series fighter, hybrid galore</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Apr 2008 09:26:00 EST. <p>It may be hard to tell from the picture, but what you're looking at, according to our sources, is a test mule for a Lexus IS convertible. Information accompanying the spy shot suggests that the car is destined for production by the end of 2009 and will feature the full range of engines available in the Lexus IS sedan, from the 177-hp European diesel 220d to the 423-hp IS-F (!).</p>
<p>If the information is correct, the IS cabrio would be the first body style derivative of the Lexus sports sedan since the previous generation model spawned the SportCross wagon, and would slot in the Lexus line-up under the SC 430 convertible and, if built, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/13/leakage-lexus-lf-a-convertible/">LF-A Roadster</a>. However, as one forum member pointed out, by 2009 the IS sedan would be entering its fifth year of production and itself be due for replacement soon thereafter. <em>Thanks for the tip, Kevin!</em></p>
