Designed by the experienced hand of Henrik Fisker who also penned most of Aston Martin's current lineup, the original Latigo CS that debuted in Frankfurt back in 2005 was only produced in a limited-run of 150 units, with the first examples having been delivered less than two months ago.

With the paint hardly dry on his first batch, Fisker has gone back and updated the Latigo CS for a second run of 150 units. The car is now shorter, with both the front and rear ends mildly redesigned. The headlights are now slimmer, and the new lower air intakes up front are more aggressive and sharply styled, while the rear also gets new thinner taillamps. The hood also features a wider power bulge that flows into Fisker's trademark grille that can be ordered up in anodized aluminum or a black powder-coat. The Latigo also rolls on a new set of lightweight ten-spoke, three-piece 20-inch wheels.

Being based on the BMW 6-Series, this update for the Fisker Latigo neatly coincides with a mild refreshening of BMW's big coupe. The Latigo can reportedly also be ordered with the 650Ci as its basis, but why anyone wouldn't choose the mighty M6 as their canvas on which to paint is beyond us.

[Source: Fisker]

Gallery: 2008 Fisker Latigo CS

Fisker already updating exclusive Latigo CS originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 09 Aug 2007 09:25:00 EST.
New models scheduled for Geneva are beginning to pile up and the Autobloggers headed to Europe are looking luckier and luckier by the day. We told you a few months back about an upcoming Fisker supercar, and it looks like the Artega GT Coupe is that vehicle. Equipped with a VW-derived 3.6L V6, power will come in at around 300 hp. Those are some pretty lousy numbers for a supercar, but this Fisker isn't very big. At 13 feet long and 6 feet wide, the Artega is about the same size as a Mazda MX-5 and at less than four feet tall it is about the same height as a Lamborghini Gallardo. Top speed of the Artega GT Coupe is estimated at 165 mph.

Henrik Fisker helped design many of the current Aston Martins on the road today which makes every future vehicle he pens worth mentioning. The Fisker Tramonto and Latigo CS were great-looking too, but their basic shape and stance were borrowed from the Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG and the BMW M6. The Artega GT Coupe is definitely a departure from what Fisker has done in the past, but it just isn't ground-breaking. No word yet if the Artega will share a platform like the Tramanto or Latigo but we think there's a good chance that's the case. Production will reach 500 units per year and the price tag should be around €75,000.

Although his most recognizable creations are sitting in Aston Martin showrooms, Fisker decided to take a play from many early 20th century coachbuilders and start his own line of visually enhanced and reengineered vehicles.

Currently, Fisker Coachbuild has only produced two models. The first, began life as a Merc SL and after some impressive body modifications and engine tweaks, was born anew and entitled the Tramonto. The second, called the Latigo, found its basis in the current BMW 6-series chassis and, much like its sibling, benefited from a variety of exterior modifications. Since only 150 examples of each vehicle are to be made, exclusivity comes at a price, with sales expected to be in the $200-300k range.

According to an article at Pistonheads, Fisker's custom-coach line-up will gain one more model after it is debuted in Geneva. The price is estimated to be in the $100,000 range, however, the new vehicles identity, platform and production numbers have yet to be announced. Judging by the (relatively) low price of admission, it would be safe to assume that Fisker is planning a high-volume model to compete in the ever-expanding "super-premium" (read: $100k+) market.

We eagerly await more details.

Related Posts:
