<br />
We'll be honest and say right off the bat that we have a soft spot for KTM. This particular blogger's first real two-wheeler was an old KTM 125 two-stroke that ate piston rings for breakfast, lunch and dinner... but boy was it fast! More recently, the traditionally off-road-focused Austrian marque has made a renewed plans to enter the U.S. market with an exciting line of streetbikes, and that's reportedly set to continue in full force for 2010.<br />
<br />
According to the boys at Hell For Leather, KTM plans to <a href="http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2009/11/ktm-plans-to-dominate-us-stree.html">bring its entire line of motorcycles Stateside</a>, and that includes the 990 Adventure R, Super Duke R, SMT and SMR along with the RC8 R superbike (finally!) and the full line of single-cylinder 690s. Speaking of which, also new for 2010 is the <a href="http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2009/11/2010-ktm-690-duke-r-690cc-of-s.html">2010 690 Duke R</a> that gets firmer suspenders, a bespoke paint scheme and carbon fiber fender and, most importantly, an enlarged engine with 70 horsepower and 51 lb-ft of torque. Hit the jump for a detailed PDF file that contains KTM's full line.<br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for more shots of the 2009 KTM RC8 R</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />KTM is set to go racing next year with its RC8 R superbike, which is hot off the presses from the EICMA show in Milan. Featuring a V-Twin engine that displaces 1195cc's (that's almost the maximum size allowed for racing against liter-class fours), the liquid cooled engine pumps out 165 horsepower or 180 with the optional race exhaust. We'd expect a significant chunk of torque from the 75-degree twin cylinder as well, which the machine will rely on as it goes up against the stratospheric revvers from Japan. <br /><br />Styling-wise, we're totally smitten with its angular bodywork and flat black paint colors. Combined with the orange frame and matte white highlights, the Austrian firm offers a distinctive look compared to the sensual Ducatis and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/22/officially-official-aprilia-rsv4-superbike/">Aprilias</a>, swoopy bikes from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/06/honda-announces-new-cbr600rr-and-cbr100rr-fireblade-for-u-k/">Big</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/29/suzuki-unveils-2009-gsx-r1000/">Four</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/28/kawasaki-updates-entire-motorcycle-line-for-09/">Japanese</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/08/yamaha-introduces-2009-r1-with-big-bang-firing-order/">manufacturers</a> and the purposeful <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/11/bmw-reveals-race-ready-s-1000-rr/">BMW</a>. We're not sure what KaTooM will charge for the priviledge of owning an R-model, but those unwilling to pony up the extra dough can still opt for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/08/officially-official-ktm-rc8-superbike-introduced/">standard 1148cc RC8</a>.<br /><br />Also new from KTM is a touring version of its 990cc V-Twin powered Supermoto, which gets a small fairing, more comfortable ergos and some luggage. There's also an R model of the Supermoto for those who wish to drag a foot instead of a knee as on the RC8. The Supermoto R goes the exactly opposite direction from the T by losing weight and upping the suspension and braking bits. Lastly, there's a new 990 Adventure R model that loses the ABS, adds 9 horses and gets better suspension and brakes. All the bikes get cool new looks, so be sure to click past the break for the rest of the galleries.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r">KTM RC8 R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/2009-ktm-rc8r-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/2009-ktm-rc8r-07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/2009-ktm-rc8r-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/2009-ktm-rc8r-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-rcr-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/2009-ktm-rc8r-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://ktm.com/KTM-News.223.0.html?nodeID=104983&amp;cHash=42f31abce0">KTM</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/06/eicma-2008-ktm-intoduces-rc8-r-supermoto-t-and-r-990-adventur/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EICMA 2008: KTM intoduces RC8 R, Supermoto T and R, 990 Adventure R</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/06/eicma-2008-ktm-intoduces-rc8-r-supermoto-t-and-r-990-adventur/">EICMA 2008: KTM intoduces RC8 R, Supermoto T and R, 990 Adventure R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 06 Nov 2008 09:57:00 EST. We can clearly see a new color scheme featuring white bodywork with black and orange highlights along with an orange frame and black swingarm. Note the Y-Spoke wheels and Brembo Monoblock brakes, both of which will surely add to the hooligan-machine's fun quotient. A forward-leaning riding position will help keep the front tire down, although it appears it may cut into the available fuel capacity, as well. <br /><br />We don't yet know if any changes have been made to the engine, but it probably doesn't matter. The Austrian firm's V-Twin makes plenty of power, especially for a naked bike with no wind protection. The Supermoto will most definitely rip on the corners and will be at its element at full lean angle, and that's what really counts for a bike like this. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-990-supermoto-r">KTM 990 Supermoto R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-990-supermoto-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/08_ktm_990smr_lean_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-990-supermoto-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/08_ktm_990smr_left_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-990-supermoto-r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/08_ktm_990smr_road_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://supermotocentral.blogspot.com/2008/09/new-ktm-990-supermoto-r.html">Supermoto Central</a> via <a href="http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2008/09/2009-ktm-990-supermoto-r-leaks.html#more">Hell For Leather</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/04/revealed-2009-ktm-990-supermoto-r/">REVEALED: 2009 KTM 990 Supermoto R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 04 Sep 2008 13:02:00 EST.
