<br />With much of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/koenigsegg/">recent news regarding Koenigsegg</a> being about their acquisition of Saab, you might have forgotten that the Swedish auto manufacturer builds supercars. Well, probably not, but it was refreshing to see Koenigsegg throw a changeup and release details of their latest special edition model, the Trevita. <br /><br />Based on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/02/koenigsegg-drops-a-duo-ccgt-and-1018-hp-biofuel-ccxr/">CCXR</a> model, the limited-edition supercar appears to have a simple silver paint job from a distance, but a closer look reveals a bare carbon fiber body coated with a unique diamond finish put directly into the weave using a process specially developed by Koenigsegg. According to the company, use of the "Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave" (catchy, eh?) means that "When sunlight hits the car, it sparkles like millions of silvery white diamonds infused inside the visible carbon fiber weave bodywork."<br /><br />Along with diamond weave finish, the Trevita, which evidently means "three whites" in Swedish, features a double carbon wing, paddle shifters, an upgraded exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes, an infotainment system, and more. There's no word on pricing, but just three will be produced and we're guessing that they will demand a hefty premium over the "standard" CCXR. <br /><br />No official word yet on whether the Trevita will roll out at next week's Frankfurt show, but we'll have our SLRs at the ready just in case. For now, though, you'll have to content yourself with the high-res gallery below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/">Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ccxrtrevita_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ccxrtrevita_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ccxrtrevita_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ccxrtrevita_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-ccxr-trevita/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ccxrtrevita_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Koenigsegg via <a href="http://www.gtspirit.com/2009/09/10/koenigsegg-trevita/">GTSpirit.com</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/11/limited-edition-ccxr-trevita-to-shine-like-a-diamond-well-mill/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Limited-edition CCXR Trevita to shine like a diamond. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Koenigsegg CCXR Edition - Click above for a high-res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />According to a report by CarsUK.net, Koenigsegg will be limiting the already limited production versions of the CCXR and CCX Edition models due to the floundering economy. Although the report doesn't explicitly say that demand has plummeted, we can only imagine that the even wealthiest one-percenters are rethinking their high-dollar expenditures. The CCXR Edition will be limited to only four examples, while a scant two CCX Editions will be produced. While it might be the economy, with the unveiling of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/Quant/">Quant</a> at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GenevaMotorShow/">Geneva Motor Show</a>, Christian Von Koenigsegg might be looking to shift the automaker's efforts towards their next model before the CCXs begin growing long in the tooth.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/">Koenigsegg Edition CCXR</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/ccxr-special-ed_dh_02b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/ccxr-special-ed_dh_05b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/ccxr-special-ed_dh_07a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/ccxr-special-ed_dh_rear-view-01a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/koenigsegg-edition-ccx-and-ccxr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/ccxr_interior_special-ed_dh_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.carsuk.net/exclusive-koenigsegg-cuts-production-numbers-on-the-ccx-ccxr-edition/">CarsUK.net</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/20/more-limited-editions-koenigsegg-reportedly-cutting-productio/">(More) Limited Editions: Koenigsegg reportedly cutting production of CCX, CCXR models </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 20 Mar 2009 08:58:00 EST. Carbon-fiber saloons from the Swedish automaker have been undergoing testing for the past two years, with the new model set to be debut in concept form at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva Motor Show</a> in 2010. Sales of the car are planned for 2011 with a sizable allocation destined for the U.S. The other big market for the brand is the Middle East, where much of the development money is said to have been sourced. Powered by a 700-horsepower V8 not shared with Koenigsegg's other exotics, the new super saloon is expected to surpass 200 miles per hour. Pricing would almost surely be higher than its closest rivals, the upcoming Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide, but lower than the marque's other carbon creations.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/">Autoblog Drives the Koenigsegg CCX</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/ccxfirstdrive1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/ccxfirstdrive10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/ccxfirstdrive11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/ccxfirstdrive12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/autoblog-drives-the-koenigsegg-ccx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/ccxfirstdrive13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.carmiddleeast.com/index.php/main/getDetails/1/104/">CAR Middle East</a> via <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5039875/koenigsegg-to-build-700-hp-four-door-prototype-to-debut-at-geneva">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/21/koenigsegg-developing-700bhp-four-door/">Koenigsegg developing 700bhp four-door</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 21 Aug 2008 12:57:00 EST. The biofuel-powered car has a twin supercharged 4.8-liter V8, and will put out 1,018-HP at 7,200 RPM, and you'll get 740 lb-ft of torque out of it.<br /><br />And if you want to break those numbers down, you'll get from the stoplight to 60 in 2.9 seconds, and the good Swedes claim you can take it past 248 MPH. However, in order to make any use of those numbers you need to first get past this one: &euro;1,575,000, plus taxes and fees, to take it home.
