Nissan Intima Teana brochure leaked out

Click above for a gallery of the Nissan Teana brochure.

The Scoopers of Cars have gotten their hands on a scanned brochure of the production version of the Nissan Intima concept, and it seems that in addition to getting a mass-market makeover, it will also be sporting a Teana badge when it goes on sale in Japan. The transition from concept to production has been uncharacteristically kind to the Teana, with the tightly drawn headlamps, plummeting C-pillar and elongated tail lamps surviving, but the suicide doors and 22nd century interior must have been scrapped due to feasibility issues. We'll get our first official taste of the Teana when it's finally revealed on April 20th at the Beijing Motor Show.

Nissan teases production Intima ahead of Beijing show

Nissan's presence at the Beijing Motor Show (or 2008 Auto China, if you're kicking it new school) will apparently be marked with the unveiling of the production version of the Intima sedan, originally shown in concept form at last year's Tokyo Motor Show. The teaser above lends credence to spy photos procured by Autoblog Chinese that showed the coupe-ish sedan partially uncovered on its way to or from a photo shoot. The Intima will be positioned as a new flagship model for Nissan in China, but surprisingly, it doesn't carry the same forked headlamp arrangement that originally made its debut on the 2009 Maxima and is expected to infect the rest of Nissan's lineup in years to come.

Beijing '08 Preview: Nissan Intima to make production debut?

Nissan Intima production car?

Nissan Intima ConceptThe Nissan Intima concept that was unveiled during last year's Tokyo Motor Show looked very complete. Now we know why. Spy photos suggest that a production version of the Intima will make its world debut next month at the Beijing Motor Show. As you can see from the above photos, the covered car's side glass and taillamp design definitely seem to mimic those of the Intima show car. As part of the transformation, however, the production ride appears to have lost the smooth trunk-to-bumper transition that the concept displayed, instead wearing a posterior that protrudes a little more and features traditional exhaust outlets. Assuming this all comes to pass, the Intima should be Nissan's flagship sedan in China. More next month when things get underway in Beijing.

Tokyo Motor Show: Getting intimate with the Nissan Intima

Last time I saw a car door opened at that angle it had been bent that way by a taxi, but here the Nissan Intima's doors are opened to such extreme degrees "to aid access and egress." The guy behind the concept was keen to impress that the outwardly rotating seats are not purely for use by the elderly and infirm, but are to help the rest of us in and out too. Quite how many able-bodied folk have the patience to wait 15 to 20 seconds to be dropped at the curb is open to debate however.

More likely to see production in the foreseeable future is the Intima's clean diesel V6, outlandish lights, and perhaps even the expansive windshield cum sunroof. More pics lurk beyond the link.

Among the concepts from Nissan set to debut in Tokyo, the Intima may be the closest thing to a production-ready vehicle we'll see. With an emphasis on Nissan's "Modern Living" design theme, both the interior and exterior benefit from a high-class aesthetic that mates clean styling with luxurious appointments, right down to the matching toiletry set included inside.

The exterior styling takes all the familiar Nissan design cues and stretches them across acres of sheet metal, from the headlamps to the windshield. Inside, Nissan touts an eclectic mix of highly stylized components, including a front passenger seat that swivels 80-degrees to allow better ingress and egress.

Nissan's full press release is after the jump and be sure to check out the huge gallery of images below.
