The man on the right is a Turk named Fevzi. He hails from the city of Gaziantep which, according to Wikipedia, is the sixth-largest in Turkey. So it isn't because there's nothing else to do that Fevzi has developed a full-featured repertoire of automotive sounds that he can bust out at a moment's notice.

As you'll see in the videos after the jump, these include a diesel Ford Transit and diesel Mitsubishi Canter; a tractor; Suzuki and Yamaha literbikes; a Yamaha 115cc bike; a boat; and a hometown favorite in the form of a Tofas Sahin car. Follow the jump to rock the noise - the first video is the original, the second is from Fevzi's leap to Turkish television. Hat tip to Ozcan!
Remember Michael Winslow, the guy from the Police Academy movies and The Man of 10,000 Effects? When it comes to cars, this gent could be his follow-up act, having worked out his own technique for imitating a number of powerplants.

Introduced in 1963, the Porsche 911 is one of the most successful competition cars ever built. Despite its unconventional rear-engine platform, the 911 Carrera holds recorded wins in nearly every type of automotive competition. Continuously upgraded and refined, Porsche has introduced a mid-cycle refresh for the 2009 model year. While the cosmetic changes are immediately apparent, the most significant improvements - two new engines and a new double-clutch transmission - are hidden under its sleek skin. We spent a long day putting the 2009 911 Carrera through its paces on a race track near Salt Lake City framed by the spectacular snow-capped surrounding mountains of Utah. Read our impressions after the jump.

The Mercury News reporter tested six 2006 convertibles in recent months while the weather, he writes, was "perfect". His impressions of the convertibles include:

2006 Volvo C70 convertible
Nauman found it quite roomy for four while the turbo-charged engine made Sunday driving energetic. A low whir sound, which may have come from the hardtop, prove to be annoying.

2006 Pontiac G6 GTP convertible (pictured)
Nauman felt Pontiac's newest vehicle to be as solid as the C70, which he found surprising. Annoyances he found included the plasticky interior and the 2.2-cubic-feet of truck space when the hardtop was down.

2007 Jaguar XK8 convertible
He found the six-speed and 300-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8 engine to be "decent". The soft-top folded in 18 seconds.

2006 Mini Cooper S convertible
Nauman drove the limited full-tilt S model with John Cooper tuning kit. His enthusiasm over the Mini's style, design, and driving character marked him a fan.

2006 Honda S2000 roadster
Nauman admits he could never find a comfortable position in the S2000 despite being able to fit in the MX-5, Z4, and Solstice. He still found the convertible amazing to drive especially when hitting the corners.

2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T convertible
He found the Saab's design "dignified", while the turbo-charged engine made driving moderately fun.

We're particularly interested in trying out the Pontiac G6 GTP convertible for ourselves, as it appears the car's svelty styling and trick hardtop can't shake its cheap interior and low utility.

[Source: Mercury News]
Six tested 2006 convertibles so you don't have to originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 08 Jul 2006 17:02:00 EST.
