Honda is expanding its passenger's side Takata airbag inflator recall to affect an additional 1.39 million examples of the 2001-2005 Civic and the 2003-2007 Accord. In total, 2.3 million of the company's cars need the repairs just on that side.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is starting to announce the expanded Takata airbag inflator recalls. FCA has over 5 million vehicles affected worldwide, and BMW has over 420,000 in the US. Honda's expansion includes 350,000 more Civics and Accords.
Two leaked spec sheets claim that both the 2016 Honda Civic sedan and coupe have a starting price of $18,680. Two engines are purportedly available: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 165 horsepower and a 1.5-liter turbo four with 167 hp.
