There's plenty to love about the madness that goes on at Hennessey Performance, but for us, it's the fact that the company has no loyalty to any brand or nameplate. If it's quick, it flies at Hennessey. The team recently turned their attention toward squeezing a bit more thrust from the latest-generation Ford Taurus SHO, and the result is the MaxBoost 445. Thanks to a cold-air induction system, new hard piping for the turbo, engine management calibration and a Corsa stainless steel cat-back exhaust, the car dumps 445 horsepower to all four wheels - a bunch more ponies than the standard car's already plentiful 365 hp. It even comes with a 1 year, 12,000 mile warranty.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.

Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Watch the Venom GT go from 0 to 230 MPH in under 20 sec.

The crew at Hennessey has finally gotten around to showing the world just how quick the Venom GT really is by pulling off a 0-230 mph sprint on runway. The best run took a scant 19.96 seconds to stick the speedometer at 228 mph.

That's the kind of speed that will peal your eyelids back if you aren't careful. Of course, it takes some pretty lofty power figures to generate that kind of velocity. The Venom GT benefits from a General Motors LS9 V8 engine pulled from the wicked Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

After some healthy tweaking, including abandoning the factory supercharger for twin ball bearing turbochargers, the 7.0-liter V8 spits up to 1,244 horsepower to the rear wheels. We're just happy to see all that thrust get put to task. You can check out the quick video of the Venom GT sprinting to glory below.

Watch Hennessey-tuned Cadillac CTS-V run over 220 mph on a Texas road

Texas holds the excellent honor of playing host to the road with the highest speed limit in the US. It seems no coincidence, then, that the speed-hungry minds at Hennessey Performance call the Lone Star State home as well. Hennessey recently turned its attention to the freshly opened toll road SH130 for a quick sprint, and with the help of the Texas Departments of Transportation and Public Safety, driver Brian Smith ran the VR1200 all the way to 220.5 mph before running out of road. That's right, the wicked, much-modified Cadillac CTS-V Coupe actually had more left in its top end.

As you may recall, the VR1200 gets its grunt from a twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 engine good for 1,226 horsepower and 1,109 pound-feet of torque. Hennessey paired that maniacal mill with a carbon fiber widebody kit and a set of carbon ceramic brakes, among other goodies, and the team says the VR1200 is good for a top speed of 242 mph. Hennessey Venom GT Spyder pops in at Cars & Coffee

Our own lensman Drew Phillips caught sight of this at Cars & Coffee in Irvine, California: the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. This is the first time it's been seen on our shores. The targa version of the Venom GT packs the same 1,200 horsepower as the coupe - which also debuted at C&C, one year ago - but adds $150,000 to the price.That means you'll need $1.1 million for that wind-in-your-very-rich-hair feeling.

We still don't have exact specs on the car beyond a very limited build and its "enhanced driving sensations," but the high-res gallery of photos above should fill in enough blanks for now.

Hennessey announces 2013 Venom GT Spyder

There's gilding the lily, and then there is this: An open-air version of Hennessey's 1,200-horsepower Venom GT supercar.

The Venom GT Spyder turns up the wick on its hardtop sibling to the tune of an additional $150,000, with a base price starting at $1.1 million. That's a pretty steep charge for a removable roof panel, although Hennessey Performance Engineering CEO Don Goldman says Venom GT Spyder buyers will also get "an even greater driving sensation." While we have yet to see official specifications or an order sheet for the Spyder, we imagine seeing "Extra wind and sound from the twin-turbo V8" listed under standard equipment. Regardless, we know which one we'd take the keys to if given the opportunity: This Vitamin D special.

Hennessey says it has already received orders for two of the five Venom GT's it will build for the 2013 model year. So if you're in the market for one of the remaining three cars, now you have a choice. Click past the jump for the press release.

Hennessey Venom GT making official U.S. debut at Monterey

Hennessey has announced that it will show off its Venom GT on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at
the McCall's Motorworks Revival during the Pebble Beach weekend, which will take place at the Monterey Jet Center. Of course, we've seen various images of the car along with a few videos thrown in for good measure, but the Texas-based company says this is the car's first official unveiling in the U.S. after making an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.

In any case, who are we to shun an invitation to gaze upon the glorious Venom GT? With 1,200 horsepower, a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed estimated at 267 miles per hour, this is one supercar that we're more than happy to drool over. Hennessey is once again bringing its super station wagon out to the drag strip. The Texas tuner has taken Cadillac's 556-horsepower fast family-hauler and tweaked it so that the 6.2-liter V8 now produces 650 hp. We previously showed you how it fared against an (outdated) Porsche 911 Turbo, and now Hennessey has brought the CTS-V Sport Wagon back to the track, and this time, the opponent in the other line is driving a Nissan GT-R.

A 2011 Nissan GT-R to be more precise. The model that produces 485 horsepower and runs down Hennessey's track in 11.8-seconds. That's a hair slower than the 11.7-second run ripped off by the Sport Wagon - an amazing time for the 4,398-pound American muscle machine.

However, the 2012 Nissan GT-R pumps out 530 horsepower, runs from 0-60 miles per hour in less than three seconds and will cover a quarter-mile in about 11.6 seconds. Now, you can take that to mean Hennessey should've run against the newer GT-R... or that they've built one hell of a station wagon. Click past the jump to watch the two cars run down the strip.

It may look like a steroid-fueled Lotus Elise that's had a few too many trips to the gym - and we truly mean that in the very best way possible - but this latest video proves there's no mistaking the fact that it ain't powered by no wimpy four-cylinder engine sourced from Toyota.

Yes, of course we already knew that the Hennessey Venom GT is powered by a 6.2-liter LS9 V8 as used in the Corvette ZR1 in one of three force-fed configurations: the base supercharged mill with 725 horsepower and 741 pound-feet of torque and a pair of twin turbocharged beasts that put out 1,000 hp and 1,200 hp. (See a dyno video here.)

But upon hearing this sucker start up and clear its pipes, even the mighty ZR1 cowers in the corner with its supercharged tail tucked firmly between its legs. It's a modern-day Shelby Cobra, complete with its British-sourced chassis and big, burly American V8 power. We can hardly wait to see the Venom GT with our own eyes next week at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is getting ready to take the stage at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, but John Hennessey and his band of tuners can't wait that long. Hennessey Performance has announced plans and specs for its upcoming, limited-edition 2011 Hennessey HPE700 Camaro Convertible.

HPE had a hit on its hands when it announced the 2010 HPE700 Camaro. That 725-horsepower coupe was limited to just 24 examples and they were all quickly spoken for. Since Chevrolet is bringing out the droptop Camaro, Hennessey has decided to produce another 24-car limited-edition run with the 2011 model. The 2011 Hennessey HPE700 will be available in both coupe and convertible form, and the cars stats are staggering.

The HPE700 ditches the LS3 mill found in the standard Camaro SS and in its place sticks the supercharged LS9 from the Corvette ZR1. Hennessey says the motor has been tweaked to produce 755 hp and 763 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 is able to hit those numbers thanks to revised boost levels and a more robust fuel system. Thanks to all that power, Hennessey has listed a 0-60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds. A trip down the quarter-mile happens in 10.9 seconds at 130 miles per hour. Those figures are for the hardtop version when fitted with optional Nitto drag radials.

It's not just a straight-line shooter though, as Hennessey adds more than power to its HPE700. The car is fitted with lightweight HPE wheels, 15-inch brakes with six-piston front calipers, larger sway bars and an adjustable coilover suspension setup. The exterior is fitted with numerous carbon fiber trim pieces. Inside, the HPE700 Camaro receives Hennessey logos on the headrests and floor mats, an HPE race shift knob and upgraded shifter, a numbered dash and hood plaque and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.

Currently, there is no set allocation plan for the coupe and convertible in the 24-car run. Pricing has been set at a stout $132,500, but that includes the cost of the base vehicle. It also includes a one-day performance driving course at Lonestar Motorsports Park. The quarter-mile dragstrip, which has been featured in many of Hennessey's videos, is located next door to the company's production facility and showroom.

We think the 304 horsepower Cadillac CTS Coupe is pretty cool and the 556 hp CTS-V Coupe is an outright badass. The power pundits at Hennessey think any car or truck could use a little more oomph than it leaves the factory with. John Hennessey's crew has massaged the blown LSA motor under the two-door Caddy's bulging hood and the results scream for themselves. The 2011 Hennessey V700 Coupe pushes out 700 hp to the rear wheels and makes nearly 740 pound-feet of torque.

How does that all that power do when the car is launched down the dragstrip? The trip from tree to finish takes just over 11 seconds. Hop the jump to see the action for yourself.

How much horsepower is enough? Many would say that the 725 horsepower in the Hennessey HPE700 Camaro should have enough oomph to quell just about anyone's desires for straight line speed, especially for a street car. Then again, we're talking about a car built by John Hennessey, who surely spends every waking minute concocting ideas on how to get every last horsepower out of cars. His latest creation, the HPE800 Twin-Turbo Camaro, puts out an amazing 815 horsepower and 788 pound-feet of torque thanks to twin turbochargers strapped to a 415ci stroker motor and a host of other upgrades.

Not enough for you? Hennessey will build you an HPE1000 version complete with a twin-turbo 427ci LSX block and just about their entire catalog of go-fast parts for Chevy's musclecar. They recently strapped one down to a dyno, and the resulting numbers are just plain ridiculous: 847 horsepower and 801 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels. The 6.2-liter V8-powered Ford F-150 SVT Raptor went on sale less than two weeks ago and Ford tells us that it already has 3,000 orders signed, sealed and awaiting delivery. While that would spell disaster for the Blue Oval if we were talking about the run-of-the-mill F-150, we're talking about a purpose-built performance truck brandishing Fox shocks and massive 35-inch tires. Given the vehicle's niche audience, those kind of early sales numbers have Ford officials pretty excited. Make no mistake, the reason for all that interest has everything to do with the extra 91 horsepower under the Raptor's beefy hood, and the folks at Hennessey dyno'd the Little Mule to see just how much power transfers to those massive rear wheels. If you're wondering why Hennessey is interested in the Raptor, remember that the super tuner announced the 500 horsepower VelociRaptor back in February.

The post-jump video shows that, on the Hennessey dyno, the Raptor managed 326 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. Keep in mind that the 326 ponies are measured at the rear wheels, where drivetrain losses zap power. Ford quotes 411 hp and 434 lb-ft at the flywheel, which means the vehicle Hennessey dyno'd experienced a 19.5 percent loss from the flywheel to the rear wheels. By all accounts, the Hennessey Venom GT is an all-new level of bat-guano crazy. When everyone's favorite Texas tuner announced that it would be creating a hand-crafted, mid-engine terror, we all knew it was going to be special, even if our feeble little minds couldn't quite comprehend just how incredible the car would be. Now that the covers are off and we know that a 725-horsepower V8 feeds the rear tires a universe of punishment, we can't help but want a little seat time.

New footage of the $600,000 creation whipping around the streets and bi-ways of England has surfaced. Unlike the track video we caught a glimpse of last time, the new clip dishes up all the audio glory you'd expect from the behemoth. Hit the jump and crank it up.

The Hennessey Venom GT was out testing on track, and while the minute of footage tends toward the Zapruder end of 'gotcha' videos, there are still some pretty clear sights and sounds of the stretched and steroided Elise with the giant badonkadonk.

The insane Hennessey Venom GT won't be revealed publicly until this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed (but come back this Monday at midnight for the full scoop), however, the crew at PistonHeads have recently caught the car out in the open. We're definitely swooning over this one, what with its Lotus Elise-based body, Porsche Carrera GT proportions and Corvette ZR1-sourced powerplant.

We don't have the official details just yet, but we're told that this supercar stunner will produce around 1,000 horsepower. There are two kinds of people in the world. The first kind drives Cadillac's supercharged CTS-V, experiences the thrill of 556 horsepower paired with 551 pound-feet of torque and declares, "This thing is a monster. This is the fastest, most incredible American performance sedan ever made." Hennessey MaxBoost 435 for the MKS makes beautiful nonsense [w/video]

Talk about a sleeper. The folks at Hennessey Performance have gotten their hands on a Lincoln MKS fitted with Ford's new EcoBoost V6 engine, and the end result is pretty darn cool.

In its standard form, the twin-turbocharged MKS produces 355 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, but by adding Hennessey's MaxBoost 435 upgrade kit, that very same engine now cranks out a whopping 435 hp and 405 lb-ft. That means the Hennessey MKS is capable of putting down 0-60 times of only 4.5 seconds (that's as quick as a BMW M5) and will run the quarter mile in just 13 seconds at 106 mph.

The MaxBoost 435 package includes a dual cold air induction system, as well as a polished intercooler piping upgrade, engine management software upgrade, and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust. What's more, Hennessey installs all of the equipment itself and backs the package with a one year/12,000 mile warranty. Without any crucial suspension or brake upgrades, we doubt that the MaxBoost MKS will outrun an M5 on the track, but it'll certainly blow the doors off of your Grandfather's Lincoln any day of the week. We've just gotten word from Hennessey Performance that the Venom GT won't be making the trip to Switzerland to debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Instead, the Lotus Elise-based supercar will make its official entrance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July and make its first U.S. appearance in Monterey this August.

Testing of the 2,400-pound twin-turbocharged V8 coupe is underway, and according to our source, the reason for the delay was a lack of exhibition space in Switzerland. You can get the full details in our previous posts and expect more information to be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
