<br />
John Hennessey is no stranger to extracting power from already quick cars and giving them a unique appearance. More recently, Hennessey has launched a <a href="http://www.TunerSchool.com">Tuner School</a> to teach others his craft and help keep the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/SEMA/">SEMA</a> show floor populated with fresh creations.<br />
<br />
The 14-week program teaches students about engine building, turbo/supercharging and testing, and for next week's SEMA show in Las Vegas, Hennessey had his students participate in the creation of a matte black Genesis Coupe wrapped in what appears to be carbon fiber.<br />
<br />
However, the really good stuff is under the skin where Hennessey and his team of youngins boosted the Genesis' stock motor to 500 hp and 465 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a single 66mm turbo, fuel system with higher flow injectors and a host of other upgrades. The car is claimed to accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and passed the quarter mile traps in 12.5 seconds. Expect more info from the show floor next week, but in the meantime, make the jump for the official details.<br />

<br />
By and large, we live in a society obsessed with numbers. How much money do you make? How big is your home? How many ounces is that piece of steak? Of course, those of us who obsessively cover the auto industry are most often concerned with numbers like top speed and peak horsepower. This being the case, we find ourselves keenly interested in the latest offering from Hennessey, which <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/15/it-fits-hennessey-successfully-shoves-zr1-ls9-into-camaro/">packs a modified LS9 V8 engine</a> - more commonly found in the engine bay of the amazing Corvette ZR1 - in the new 2010 Chevy Camaro.<br />
<br />
So, wanna know how much power the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/08/hennessey-hpe700-bastard-love-child-of-camaro-ss-and-corvette-z/">Hennessey HPE700</a> is packing? Of course you do. How about 645 rear-wheel horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque? Yeah, that'll do nicely. These are the initial figures recorded on the HPE700's first dyno pull and were achieved with 14.5 psi of boost from the supercharger and 93 octane pump gas. Also, take special note of the dyno graph, which shows a squiggly line that isn't so much a torque <em>peak</em> as it is a torque <em>plateau</em>. Nice. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/22/video-ls9-powered-2010-camaro-ss-by-hennessey-gets-its-first-dy/">Click past the break</a> to watch the video.<br />

<br />Normally the twisting of an ignition key doesn't constitute news here at Autoblog, but this is one of the few exceptions. Back in January, Hennessey Performance announced the HPE700, a concoction born from the combination of an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/08/hennessey-hpe700-bastard-love-child-of-camaro-ss-and-corvette-z/">LS9 supercharged V8 from a ZR1 and a 2010 Camaro</a>. The Texas-based company only recently <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/15/it-fits-hennessey-successfully-shoves-zr1-ls9-into-camaro/">shoe-horned the engine into the engine bay</a>. A video camera was on when it was finally time to start the newly created monster, and the sound is nothing short of amazing. The result of open headers plus what appears to be a fairly aggressive cam makes for a sound that has the hairs on the backs of our necks standing on end. Have a listen for yourself by watching the video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/video-commencing-countdown-engine-on-for-ls9-powered-hennessey/">after the jump</a>. <em>Thanks for the tip, Brian!</em><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/">Hennessey Camaro HPE700</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/hpe700camaropa_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/hpe700camaropa_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/hpe700camaropa_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/hpe700camaropa_09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-ls9-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/hpe700camaropa_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv2yFzx9DTk">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/video-commencing-countdown-engine-on-for-ls9-powered-hennessey/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Commencing countdown, engine on for LS9-powered Hennessey HPE700</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/25/video-commencing-countdown-engine-on-for-ls9-powered-hennessey/">VIDEO: Commencing countdown, engine on for LS9-powered Hennessey HPE700</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 14:57:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Hennessey Performance HPE700 - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Hennessey Performance has successfully completed the most crucial step in developing its ZR1-powered <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/08/hennessey-hpe700-bastard-love-child-of-camaro-ss-and-corvette-z/">HPE700</a>: Getting the Corvette ZR1's LS9 motor to fit in the engine bay of the new Camaro. John Hennessey just sent over these images that show the before and after, and from the look of things, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 fits nicely. <br /><br />The engine cover that's visible through a polycarbonate window on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/11/review-2009-chevrolet-corvette-zr1-goes-to-hell-and-back/">Corvette ZR1</a> lines up nicely against the Camaro's firewall and it appears there's still some room left in front of the engine. While the LS9 normally produces 638 hp in the ZR1, as its name suggests, the Hennessey HPE700 will be shooting for over 700 horsepower. Only 24 examples will be produced and Hennessey has already sold 11. <br />As far as we can tell, John Hennessey and his crew have somehow warped time and space to create the 36-hour workday. With all the products the Texas-based tuner is coming out with, there's no other explanation. So in addition to creating the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/29/hennessey-unveils-705-hp-corvette-zr700-upgrade/">705-hp Corvette ZR700</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/08/video-hennessey-gtr700-rips-2-8s-0-60-with-launch-control-off/">715-hp GTR700</a> and a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/01/562-hp-hennessey-camaro-hpe550-is-the-z28-that-never-was/">duo of force-fed</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/08/hennessey-hpe700-bastard-love-child-of-camaro-ss-and-corvette-z/">Camaros</a>, Hennessey has decided to tackle the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2009CadillacCTSV/">2009 Cadillac CTS-V</a> - and in the process created a four-door ZR1.<br /><br />The team is releasing four complete packages for Caddy's M5-fighter, ranging from a 610 hp version all the way to a twin-turbocharged 800 hp variant. You can check out each package, including horsepower, torque, mods and performance times, along with corresponding videos, after the jump. And we've also got a gallery of the fire-breathing CTS-V below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/">Hennessey Performance 2009 Cadillac CTS-V</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/01-hennessey-cts-v_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/02-hennessey-cts-v_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/03-hennessey-cts-v_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/04-hennessey-cts-v_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-performance-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/05-hennessey-cts-v_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/ListItems.php?cart=vHLfCEpD&amp;DoThis=Cadillac+CTS-V+(2009)&amp;ActionReq=Where">Hennessey</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/01/zr1-sedan-hennessey-releases-600-800-hp-packages-for-2009-cadil/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>ZR1 Sedan: Hennessey releases 600-800 hp packages for 2009 Cadillac CTS-V</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/01/zr1-sedan-hennessey-releases-600-800-hp-packages-for-2009-cadil/">ZR1 Sedan: Hennessey releases 600-800 hp packages for 2009 Cadillac CTS-V</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 01 May 2009 19:58:00 EST. <br />You name it and John Hennessey will make it faster. From Vipers to Vettes to Challengers, Hennessey Performance will take competent sports cars and make them into tire-shredding speed demons with more horsepower than any street-going vehicle should ever logically have. The latest creation to come from the Texas tuner is the GTR700 based on the Nissan GT-R. The upgraded Godzilla now sports 715 horsepower and 662 lb-ft torque thanks to numerous modifications including a stainless steel exhaust system, new ECU programming, modified turbos with larger compressor wheels, 100mm cold air intake, high-flow fuel injectors, transmission cooler, clutch pack upgrades, and more. The result is stupefying. Sixty mph comes up in just 2.8 seconds, 100 mph in 6.7 seconds and 150 mph in 14.5 seconds. Compared to a stock GT-R, the GTR700 reaches 186 mph in less than half the time. Someone needs to take this thing to the Nurburgring. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/08/video-hennessey-gtr700-rips-2-8s-0-60-with-launch-control-off/">Hit the jump</a> to watch the Hennessey GTR700 hit a full 1.0g during acceleration on its way to a 10.87 sec @ 132 mph quarter mile run.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-gtr700/low/">Hennessey GTR700</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-gtr700/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/002_gtr700_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-gtr700/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/001_gtr700_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-gtr700/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/003_gtr700_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-gtr700/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/000_gtr700_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/08/video-hennessey-gtr700-rips-2-8s-0-60-with-launch-control-off/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Hennessey GTR700 rips 2.8s 0-60 with launch control off</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/08/video-hennessey-gtr700-rips-2-8s-0-60-with-launch-control-off/">VIDEO: Hennessey GTR700 rips 2.8s 0-60 with launch control off</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 08 Apr 2009 10:30:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Charles, one of our eagle-eyed readers, came across <a href="http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/ListItems.php?cart=wIuyfuUp&amp;DoThis=Ford+Taurus+SHO+(2010)&amp;ActionReq=Where">this page on the Hennessey website</a> announcing plans to offer upgrades for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2010FordTaurusSHO/">2010 Ford Taurus SHO</a>. A quick email and a subsequent phone call from Mr. Hennessey himself confirmed that the power-obsessed tuner is hoping to exploit the new SHO's potential later this year.<br /><br />John, a former first-gen SHO owner himself, was impressed with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/officially-official-2010-ford-taurus-sho/">new SHO's specs when it was revealed last week</a>, and the hope is that enthusiasts will start looking for modifications once sales begin later this year. At the onset, expect intake and exhaust mods, followed by a boost controller, turbo and intercooler upgrades and possibly some suspension tweaks. <br /><br />Since Ford is primarily marketing its line of EcoBoost engines towards fuel-conscious consumers, there's little doubt that the automaker left something on the table. We're sure tuners are ready to take up the challenge, and it looks like John and his team will be at the forefront.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/">2010 Ford Taurus SHO</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0000_2010taurussho000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0000_2010taurussho001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0000_2010taurussho002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0000_2010taurussho003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus-sho-chic09/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0000_2010taurussho004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/16/hennessey-ready-to-tap-2010-ford-taurus-shos-potential/">Hennessey Performance ready to tap 2010 Ford Taurus SHO's potential</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 16 Feb 2009 19:31:00 EST. <br />Not satisfied with the 638 horsepower on tap in your <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/19/autoblog-first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/">Chevrolet Corvette ZR1</a>? Hennessey Performance has the solution. They've come up with a tuning package that includes a smaller supercharger pulley that increases boost from 11 to 14 psi, an upgraded intercooler, K&amp;N intake, stainless steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a reprogrammed engine management system that pushes output past the 700-horsepower mark. If that still doesn't meet your needs, Hennessey can keep the upgrades coming with high-flow cylinder heads and a more aggressive camshaft that puts the ZR1 at 755 hp. Hennessey's website says that 1000 hp is attainable, and we're guessing it involves a pair of turbochargers. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/29/hennessey-unveils-705-hp-corvette-zr700-upgrade/">Follow the jump </a>to watch a video of the Hennessey ZR700 knock out an 11.03 second quarter-mile with relative ease. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/ItemDetail.php?Item_ID=330&amp;cart=wWsYMfyL&amp;DoThis=Chevrolet+Corvette+ZR1+%282009%29&amp;ActionReq=Where">Hennessey Performance</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/29/hennessey-unveils-705-hp-corvette-zr700-upgrade/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hennessey unveils 705 HP Corvette ZR700 upgrade</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/29/hennessey-unveils-705-hp-corvette-zr700-upgrade/">Hennessey unveils 705 HP Corvette ZR700 upgrade</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 29 Jan 2009 10:58:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above to enlarge the Henessey HPE700 Camaro</small></strong></em> <br /><br />
<div align="left">Following in the footsteps of such legendary Camaro tuners as Yenko Chevrolet, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/hennessey">Hennessey Performance Engineering</a> has unveiled the HPE700, which mates a standard 2010 Camaro SS with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=ls9&amp;invocationType=wl-auto&amp;searchsubmit=">supercharged </a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=ls9&amp;invocationType=wl-auto&amp;searchsubmit=">LS9 V8</a> from the Corvette ZR1. As if that engine alone weren't enough, HPE has tuned the LS9 to produce 705 hp and 717 lb-ft torque. That should make for an awesome pavement pounder in the quarter-mile, or else a neat way to scorch the earth and create mushroom clouds of tire smoke.<br /><br />Other performance goodies include 15-inch carbon ceramic brakes cribbed from the ZR1, upgraded suspension bits and HRE alloy rims shod with Michelin PS2 rubber. HPE chose not to leave well enough alone in the looks department, either. The HPE700 has inherited the controversial see-through hood from the ZR1, along with a body package that includes a full carbon fiber ground effects kit and a unique front fascia with faux-hideaway headlights and a billet aluminum grille. We like it, you may not. <br /><br />The HPE700 is a lot of car, and to help drivers reign it in, a 1-day performance driving course is included in the asking price of $109,500. The first orders will be accepted next week to registered bidders at the Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ with regular orders being taken the following week. See the rest of Hennessey's official details in the press release after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: Hennessey Performance Engineering]<br /> </div>

That still won't be enough for a lot of people (especially folks who want to win <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/03/video-drag-race-between-zr1-599-gt-r-and-gt2/">seriously competitive drag races</a>), so Hennessey is offering GT-R upgrades that beef Godzilla up to 600 hp. The seven mods in the kit don't do anything crazy to the car -- items like stainless steel turbo downpipes and a wastegate actuator upgrade -- they simply combine to add 120 hp to the corral already on hand. As far as we're concerned, we'd take that over a 520 hp V Spec any day... we can rip out the rear seats ourselves.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/ListItems.php?cart=tNlJwTcV&amp;DoThis=Nissan+GTR+(2009)&amp;ActionReq=Where">Hennessey</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/15/hennessey-offers-600-hp-tuning-package-for-nissan-gt-r/">Hennessey offers 600 hp tuning package for Nissan GT-R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 15 Dec 2008 19:01:00 EST. </small> <br />Hennessey is perhaps more closely associated with Dodge Vipers to most people, but they also do work on Ford's late, great supercar, the Ford GT, too. What Hennessey does with the GT is sort of up to you. One option they can do is a swap, wherein the factory supercharger is removed and a pair of turbos are fitted. With additional modifications, that car can reach more than 235 mph. If it strikes you as a sacrilegious thing to do to a rare factory-supercharged car, you can keep your blower and simply add the twin turbos as well. They call that one the Ford GT1000 for the metric tonne of horsepower it produces. It can squirt from 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and cover the quarter in 10.6 on its way past 240 mph. The company had one of each on hand at SEMA this year in front of the duPont Registry trailer. Decisions, decisions. We'll take one of each.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/">SEMA 2008: Hennessey Ford GTs</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/hennesseygts---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/hennesseygts---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/hennesseygts---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/hennesseygts---4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hennessey-ford-gts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/hennesseygts---5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><strong>Photos copyright (C)2008 Frank Filipponio/Weblogs, Inc.</strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/09/sema-2008-hennessey-shows-a-pair-of-turbocharged-ford-gts/">SEMA 2008: Hennessey shows a pair of turbocharged Ford GTs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 09 Nov 2008 18:34:00 EST. They now offer a myriad of performance upgrades for the Challenger SRT8 including naturally aspirated versions of Chrysler's 6.1L VEMI V8 that increase power up to 575 horsepower, as well as supercharged and turbo versions producing up to 725 hp. There's clearly a power upgrade for everyone, but the most impressive appears to be the Challenger HPE600 Turbo, also known as the SRT600, which Hennessey reports has ripped off a quarter mile time of 11.9 seconds at 121 mph. The company called the car's launch during the run "conservative", though it was wearing optional Nitto Drag Radial tires at the time. <br /><br />Of course, any big bump in power should be accompanied by equal improvements to the suspension and brakes, and Hennessey will also fit your car with a KW adjustable coil-over suspension, larger anti-roll bars, new bushings and unique StopTech brakes. The cost of a complete Challenger HPE600 Turbo package (including Hennessey embroidered floor mats but not the cost of the donor car, of course) is $74,950, though one can opt for just the engine upgrades and be liberated of only $29,500. In total you could be spending well north of $100,000 on a 725-hp Challenger if you find Hennessey's approach appealing, but look at this way, you'd probably be the only one.<br /><br />Check out high-res pics of the Hennessey Challenger HPE600 Turbo in the gallery below and video of its quarter-mile run after the jump.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-challenger-srt600/low/">Hennessey Challenger SRT600</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-challenger-srt600/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/challenger-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-challenger-srt600/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/srt600-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-challenger-srt600/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/engine_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hennessey-challenger-srt600/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/shifter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Hennessey]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/22/proof-of-hennessey-challenger-srt600-turbos-punch-11-9-sec-1/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Proof of Hennessey Challenger SRT600 Turbo's punch: 11.9 sec @ 121 mph</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/22/proof-of-hennessey-challenger-srt600-turbos-punch-11-9-sec-1/">Proof of Hennessey Challenger SRT600 Turbo's punch: 11.9 sec @ 121 mph</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 22 Aug 2008 14:55:00 EST. <p>It's been less than a month since Dodge officially took the wraps off the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/chicago-2008-dodge-challenger-srt8-live-reveal/">Challenger SRT8</a>, and horsepower fanatic John Hennessey already has a performance package available called the SRT700 that will have muscle car fans tingling with excitement. Since there's no replacement for displacement, Hennessey adds extra cubes to the 6.1-liter V8 with a stroker crankshaft, pushing it out to 426ci. For good measure, a 67mm turbocharger system is added as well, complete with an air-to-air intercooler. Forged aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods, high-flow cylinder heads, and a 3-inch exhaust system are also added, among other upgrades. The result is a tire-shredding horsepower increase of nearly 75% - 725 bhp @ 5200 rpm and 750 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm. Hennessey claims it's good enough for the Challenger SRT8 to hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds (with the optional drag radial tire upgrade) and top out at 190 mph. Yep, sounds like pretty typical Hennessey stuff.</p>
