When we first got word that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/14/rendered-speculation-what-will-a-harley-davidson-look-like-in-2/">Harley-Davidson</a> had a hot new model, little did we know they were referring to a <em>super</em>model. Marisa Miller may be known as the sexiest women on the planet for her work in <em>Sports Illustrated</em> and Victoria's Secret catalogs, and in light of her latest ad campaign with the Bar and Shield Company, we're not here to debate that. The girl just can't seem to get enough action - on her motorcycle, of course.<br />
<br />
We have to hand it to the advertising execs in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/19/beer-cheese-and-bikes-harley-davidson-may-be-named-state-motor/">Milwaukee</a>, they sure know how to combine all the right elements to pull at our <strike>draw</strike> <em>heart</em>strings. Ms. Miller will be out urging the world to "<a href="http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/2010c/ss/start-something.html">Start Something</a>" in this series dedicated to cutting out all of the typical reasons you have for not yet riding a motorcycle. We didn't need much encouragement, but if you do, Harley-Davidson has created a special ride guide and will even be giving away a few bikes to help those who are still on the fence. If you were wondering if Marisa ever put on a full set of proper riding gear... well, neither were we, however if you would like to see the behind-the-scenes video, just <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/19/harley-davidson-marisa-miller-advertising-perfection-w-vide/#continued">hit the jump</a>. And remember: your employment may vary, but the video and the gallery below might not be safe for work.<br />

Why? Apparently, the increased activity was spurred by speculation of a possible takeover by private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.<br /> <br /> We're anything but experts on the inner workings of Wall Street, but it seems that the hot action is on short-term March and April call options, which indicates that many traders are betting on a leveraged buyout of the historic American motorcycle manufacturer.<br /> <br /> Naturally, neither KKR nor Harley-Davidson is commenting on the matter, though neither party has declined the rumors outright. We'll keep our virtual ears to the ground, and if we hear anything more, you'll all be the first to know.<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN1625153120100316">Reuters</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/16/rumormill-is-harley-davidson-the-target-of-a-takeover/">Rumormill: Is Harley-Davidson the target of a takeover bid?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 16 Mar 2010 17:31:00 EST. Sure, there are plenty of die-hard HD fanatics who ride their bikes thousands of miles annually and attend faraway rallies to gather with other enthusiasts who share their passion. Many owners, though, spend more time polishing their chrome than out riding. Such weekend warriors make up a large portion of the cruiser market, and those owners are being forced to hold onto their current rides a bit longer than normal due to the slowing economy in the U.S. -- a country which easily makes up the bulk of cruiser sales.<br /><br />Harley-Davidson and the rest of the industry could see this change coming long ago, and the V-Rod was its opening defense to this looming issue... and it was a good one by most accounts. The Motor Company, though, has not been content to rest on the original V-Rod as the only alternative to its classic line of air-cooled V-twin powered bikes. Thankfully, we have machines such as the Night Rod Special to provide a welcome diversion from the rolling pieces of nostalgia that make up the majority of HD's line. Does the Night Rod Special's riding experience live up to the promise made by its menacing looks? Read on to find out.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special">In the Autoblog Garage: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/000_hdvrod_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/001_hdvrod_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/002_hdvrod_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/003_hdvrod_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/004_hdvrod_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Photos copyright Jeremy Korzeniewski / Weblogs Inc.</span><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/19/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>In the Autoblog Garage: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/19/in-the-autoblog-garage-harley-davidson-night-rod-special/">In the Autoblog Garage: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 19 May 2008 11:59:00 EST. The new Indiana Jones movie, titled 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull' features both Harrison Ford and Shia <strike>The</strike> Le Beouf riding what appears at first glance to be an old Harley. Upon closer inspection, the bike is actually a new model, complete with fuel injection and Harley's new six-speed transmission. The movie-crew manages to make the bike look much older by using parts from older machines, such as the old Sportster tank and pre-war "beehive" tail light. Look real close and you may even notice the fake kick-starter which must just be welded to the frame. <br /><br />As a celebration of the upcoming movie's use of the bike, every Harley dealership will reportedly get the chance to order 30 pairs of free tickets to the movie to be given away as a promotion to customers. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer">Indiana Jones Harley Springer</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/harley_jones_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/harley_jones_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/harley_jones_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/harley_jones_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/indiana-jones-harley-springer/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/harley_jones_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2008/04/27/indiana-jones-comes-back-on-a-harley-springer/">Cyril Huze Blog</a>, <a href="http://www.hfm2.com/photopost1/showgallery.php/cat/936">Harrison Ford Web</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/30/harley-davidson-gets-into-product-placement-in-new-indiana-jones/">Harley-Davidson gets into product placement in new Indiana Jones flick</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 30 Apr 2008 09:34:00 EST.
