<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of our time embedded with Team HUMMER</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The swan song (or would that be swan hummer?) has come for HUMMER's involvement with Rod Hall Racing. HUMMER has announced it's ending sponsorship of the team that has brought it numerous race championships and victories. Last year's accolades include first in the stock full class in the Baja 1000, and season championship honors in SCORE's stock mini and stock full class, and the Best in the Desert series.<br /><br />With General Motors a little light right now on the cash front, and with HUMMER up for sale, the move had to be expected. We had a chance to ride with Chad Hall in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/11/autoblog-does-the-baja-500-round-2-the-race-w-video/">last year's Baja 500</a>, and we can tell you that the Hall family and the trucks they drive are first class. The <a href="http://www.race-dezert.com/cgi-bin/trader/atl.cgi?ct=5&amp;md=second&amp;id=1180">H1</a> and <a href="http://www.race-dezert.com/cgi-bin/trader/atl.cgi?ct=5&amp;md=second&amp;id=1181">H2 SUT</a> trucks are up for sale, so if you're keen to get in the dirt with some proven tech, there's probably no better place to start.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing">The Baja 500: race day with Team HUMMER Racing</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/baja_500_race_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/baja_500_race_day01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/baja_500_race_day02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/baja_500_race_day03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-baja-500-race-day-with-team-hummer-racing/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/baja_500_race_day04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.hummerguy.net/hummer-news/gm-cancels-hummer-sponsorship-of-rod-hall-racing">Hummer Guy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/02/hummer-ends-sponsorship-of-rod-hall-racing/">HUMMER ends sponsorship of Rod Hall Racing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 02 Jan 2009 15:32:00 EST. The catch: the businessman is a HUMMER dealer, and the pumps are next to his dealership. The station is called Classic Clean Fuels, and it is intended to make a statement for next year's H2 and H2 SUT, which will be the first production models to be Flex-fuel capable. <br /><br />You won't need to drive a HUMMER to get E85 at the station. The pumps are open to the public, a first for a dealer-owned gas station. By 2010, GM has said all HUMMERs will be biofuel-capable. GM plans to market 15 Flexfuel models next year, but only one percent of the country's service stations sell E85. GM is using that as an opportunity to open the public's (and dealers') minds to putting alternative fuel stations in alternative places.<br /><br />Said GM's Larry Burns, "Down the road we may even want to consider hydrogen dispensers at dealerships."<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080328/ANA02/99999064/1186">Auto News</a>, sub req'd]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/30/2009-hummer-h2-and-h2-sut-will-be-e85-capable/">2009 HUMMER H2 and H2 SUT will be E85 compatible</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 30 Mar 2008 16:03:00 EST. In case that's you, PickupTruck.Com speculates that the coming <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/13/spy-shots-hummer-h2-sut-or-is-it/#comments">H2T</a> (the new name for the H2 SUT, to bring it in line with H3T naming) could be offered with a diesel. The clue is in the big-bore tailpipe seen in the spy shots, which could indicate the use of a 'venturi-effect' tailpipe. It's the kind of setup GM uses on its Silverado and Sierra HDs to keep the oil burners from spewing black smoke. <br /><br />PickupTruck also wonders if this is the first truck we'll see with GM's 4.5-liter light-duty diesel. Sure, it's all guesswork right now, but we're betting GM would make more than one person happy by offering diesels in its revamped H2 line -- especially if, as some people are saying, it's going to get even larger in its next iteration.<br /><br />[Source: PickupTruck.Com]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/17/spied-hummer-h2t-actually-a-diesel/">Spied HUMMER H2T actually a diesel?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 17 Dec 2007 16:31:00 EST. Available for the H2 and H2 SUT, the limited-run package also includes a low-profile, roof-mounted light bar, chrome bits dotting the exterior and 17-inch chrome wheels. We take umbrage with the decision to use carbon fiber appearance accents on the interior, but dig the rear-vision camera system that displays video from a camera out back on a 3.5-inch display that slides out the side of the rearview mirror. Other premium touches include a heated windshield wiper system and rear-seat DVD entertainment system with headrest-mounted screens and wireless headphones. All these premium bits add up to a premium price tag, with the SUV starting at $66,030 and the SUT at $65,575. That's a pretty big jump over the $54,255 base price of a standard H2 SUV, though even those can be optioned up with packages to hit $60k pretty easily. We'll likely see the "Victory Red" at the Chicago Auto Show, and it will be arriving in dealerships sometime in February.<br /><br />Check out our <a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/">high-resolution gallery</a> of the HUMMER H2 Victory Red Limited Edition and GM's official press release after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: GM]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition">2008 HUMMER H2 Victory Red Limited Edition</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/x07hm_su008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/x07hm_su009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/x07hm_su010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/x07hm_su011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/x07hm_su012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/31/gm-announces-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GM announces HUMMER H2 Victory Red Limited Edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/31/gm-announces-hummer-h2-victory-red-limited-edition/">GM announces HUMMER H2 Victory Red Limited Edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 31 Jan 2007 11:01:00 EST. Because he has the new HUMMER Happy Meal toys before everyone else. <br /><br />Starting tomorrow, one of eight toy HUMMERS will be packed in each "boy" Happy Meal ("girl" meals will feature Polly Pocket, so don't fret if you've got a daughter, moms and dads). The full HUMMER lineup is represented, from the now-defunct H1 to the H3T Concept pickup. There's even an alternative-fuel H2H, whose hydrogen tank glows green when the car is pushed. It also comes with "Hydrogen" decals that can be applied to the bodywork to ensure maximum political correctness.<br /><br />Admittedly, the level of detail on the toys is pretty good for a meal throw-in. We might just have to take a ride over to Mickey D's ourselves...<br /><br />(More Ronald, toy shots, and a press release after the jump)<br /><br />[Source: GM, McDonalds]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/03/get-a-hummer-in-your-happy-meal/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Get a HUMMER in your Happy Meal</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/03/get-a-hummer-in-your-happy-meal/">Get a HUMMER in your Happy Meal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 03 Aug 2006 18:02:00 EST.
