<br />
Over at <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus">Lexus</a>, F stands for performance. Think F as in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/lfa/">LFA</a>. Think F as in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/is+f/">IS-F</a>. And think F as in F Sport, the series of kits that ever so subtly change a <a href="http://autoblog.com/toyota">Toyota</a> luxury vehicle's attitude from sedate to sporty. So if you thought the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/gs">Lexus GS</a> sedan could use a shot of adrenaline, we've got good news for you, as Lexus has just revealed a new F Sport package for the GS 350 that will make its debut next week at <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/sema/">SEMA</a>.<br />
<br />
The package encompasses a new set of 19-inch wheels, sport-tuned adaptive suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, new bushing, and bigger brakes up front. Variable steering is also included for rear-drive models, while the interior gets a new driver's seat, unique trim and available red leather.<br />
<br />
Cap that off with a more aggressive aero kit and the GS is transformed, if not into an outright performance sedan - the 3.5-liter V6 remains unchanged, after all, at 306 horsepower - then into something a little more aggressive than what you'd expect to see in the local diner parking lot at five p.m. Check it out in the press release <a href="/2011/10/25/lexus-unveils-2013-gs-350-f-sport-ahead-of-sema/#continued">after the jump</a> and the high-res images in the gallery for a closer look.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/10/25/lexus-unveils-2013-gs-350-f-sport-ahead-of-sema/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Lexus unveils 2013 GS 350 F Sport ahead of SEMA</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/10/25/lexus-unveils-2013-gs-350-f-sport-ahead-of-sema/">Lexus unveils 2013 GS 350 F Sport ahead of SEMA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 25 Oct 2011 13:58:00 EST. The supercar's 10-pot wonder is "bespoke to LFA," which is ur-English for something custom made, but in this case we'll take to mean "None of you can have this engine if you don't drive an LFA."<br /> <br /> You'll note that the 106-character tweet deftly avoids confirming the existence of any sort of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/16/rendered-speculation-lexus-gs-f/">GS F</a> in the first place - a car that has existed solely as a fairytale for nigh on three years - with the deflection, "not going to comment on those." But at least now if the GS F <em>does</em> come, we know what it <em>won't</em> have. But hey, they didn't rule out a derivative, right? <em>Hat tip to Stan!</em><br /> <br /> [Source: Lexus Europe Comm via <a href="http://twitter.com/Lexus_Europe/statuses/7189614795">Twitter]<br /></a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/30/from-the-twitterverse-lexus-of-europe-says-lfa-v10-is-bespok/">From the Twitterverse: Lexus of Europe says LFA V10 is <i>bespoke</i>, not headed for GS F</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 30 Dec 2009 16:29:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Lexus LFA - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
We've been <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/02/enter-the-rumor-mill-is-lexus-working-on-a-gs-f/">hearing</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/16/rendered-speculation-lexus-gs-f/">rumblings</a> about a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gs-f">Lexus GS F</a> for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/07/lexus-execs-spills-the-beans-gs-f-model-1-series-fighter-hybr/">over two years</a>, with the most recent report indicating that the maxed-out super sedan was <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/11/lexus-delays-lf-a-gs-f-and-more/">put on hold</a> until the economic climate reached a balmy 75-degrees. However, the rumormongers at Japan's <em>BestCar</em> seem to think that the GS F is back on track, and not only that, it'll be powered by a detuned version of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lexus/lfa">LFA</a>'s V10.<br />
<br />
Although that sounds simply insane at first blush, the possibility of a 500+ hp V10 powerplant coincides with an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/01/2012-lexus-gs-f-to-use-500-hp-v10/">initial report</a> released way back in September of 2007. Not only that, but the GS F's closest competition -- the BMW M5 -- uses a bent-ten as well. However, even if Toyota is trying to spread out the costs of the LFA's development, with BMW's bahn burner <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2011+bmw+m5+turbo+v8/">about to get the twin-turbocharged V8</a> from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/x6+m">BMW X6/X5 M</a> and Mercedes-Benz' decision to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/15/report-twin-turbo-5-5-liter-v8-to-replace-mercedes-benz-6-2-li/">drop its 6.2-liter engines in favor of force-fed eights</a>, it could be bad timing... or a cunning marketing move, depending on your motivational perspectives.<br />
<br />
Speculation aside, if Toyota does pull the trigger and fit a reworked version of the 552-hp, 4.8-liter 1LR-GUE V10 into its staid sedan, expect the performance to strip the paint clean off it's swollen fascia while leaving you over $100,000 lighter in the process.<br />

Both models are aimed to attack luxury stalwarts Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz by offering a number of high-performance variants and also developing a new model that would slot in below the IS sedan to take on the BMW 1-series and the Audi A3. Toyota's luxury arm plans to release a redesigned five-seater RX next year, based off the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/23/tokyo-auto-show-2007-lexus-lf-xh/">LF-Xh concept</a> that bowed in Tokyo, although there's no word on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/15/7-seat-lexus-rx-on-its-way/">rumored seven-seat variant</a> due out before the end of the decade.<br /><br />Naturally, no conversation about Lexus would be complete without some mention of a two-door, coupe/convertible version of the IS, a model that's been sorely lacking from the Lexus lineup, plus, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/13/leakage-lexus-lf-a-convertible/">LF-A</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/01/09/detroit-auto-show-lexus-lf-a/">supercar</a>, which should finally come to market in 2011, but may only be available in left-hand drive.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept">Lexus LF-Xh concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-xh-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/lexus_lf-xh_live_17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible">Lexus LF-A Roadster</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/11_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/46_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/16_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/01_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-convertible/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/12_lf_a_roadster_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept">Lexus LF-A Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lexus-lf-a-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/lexus-lf-a---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23484754-13232,00.html">The Australian</a> via <a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/lexus/lexus-exec-confirms-gs-f-and-entry-level-models/">Motor Authority</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/07/lexus-execs-spills-the-beans-gs-f-model-1-series-fighter-hybr/">Lexus execs spills the beans: GS F model, 1-series fighter, hybrid galore</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Apr 2008 09:26:00 EST.
