<br />
Gran Turismo 5. We've teased you in the past with constantly shifting <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/08/has-gran-turismo-5-been-postponed/">debut dates</a> and posted most <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/13/report-gran-turismo-5-to-get-weather-changes-night-racing-an/">every video</a> we can find. But today is a new day, and this time we're going to show you... another video. GT5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi sat down with <a href="http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-packaging-reveals-three-discs/?gr_i_ni"><em>GT Planet</em></a> to discuss how much work goes into the five-year project known as Gran Turismo 5, along with some speculation as to which vehicle will grace the game's cover. <br />
<br />
It's no secret that the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/09/pics-aplenty-mercedes-benz-unleashes-floodgates-on-sls-amg/">Mercedes Benz SLS AMG</a> will be featured in GT5, and Yamauchi actually took the uber-exotic <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/2010-mercedes-benz-sls-amg-0/#20">gull-winged</a> supercar for a spin on the legendary N&uuml;rburgring to ensure that GT5 has the proper driving dynamics. Both the 'Ring and the SLS AMG were digitally rendered pixel by pixel, aided by the game's physics calculation model. Yamauchi calls the game a driving simulator because the calculation model adds exact information about every physical aspect of each vehicle, ensuring that each one behaves in the game exactly how it drives on the road because "that's something we can't actually touch. If the original car is made well, it'll drive well." <br />
<br />
Yamouri likes the SLS AMG so much that the vehicle could hold the honored position of being the cover girl on the upcoming game's packaging. And speaking of the game's cover, the video also shows a few seconds of Yamauchi handing over what appears to be a GT5 box set to a co-worker. The glossy box contained what appears to be black, red and blue Blu-ray cases. We're thinking it's a special edition box set for the most rabid of fans, and we hope we're right.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/21/video-gran-turismo-5-box-art-and-packaging-sls-amg-may-be-cove/#continued">Hit the jump</a> to check out the video. Let's hope that Daimler's newest supercar isn't ready for a refresh by the time GT5 finally hits stores.<br />

<br />
We don't know if the marketing folks at Polyphony Digital are messing with us or if building one of the most impressive racing simulators of all time is just really, really hard. For some reason, the rumored release date of the hotly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 is jumping around like the rear axle of a gen one Cadillac CTS-V. We've heard <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/18/confirmed-gran-turismo-5-hits-stores-on-dec-29/">December 29, 2009</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/29/gran-turismo-5-to-ship-internationally-in-late-2009-after-all/">late 2009</a> and even a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/25/gran-turismo-5-will-launch-march-2010-in-japan/">March 2010 Japan release</a>. Now comes word on the Amazon website that GT5 is going to be released on March 31, 2010. Frankly, we liked "late 2009" a lot more, but it appears we have little say in the matter.<br />
<br />
Who knows, the constant date-shifting could be a heartless attempt by Kazunori Yamauchi and his minions to keep their perpetually forthcoming release in the news. We're thinking it's time to stop with the tomfoolery and get this thing launched. Five years and an all-new gaming console is long enough to wait for the answer to GT4.<br />

<br /> The folks who have crafted Gran Turismo for Sony's PSP have put together an opening movie sequence, and as you might imagine, it is chock full of supercars. And we mean bursting-at-its-pixelated-seams with just about every hot car you could ever want to drive on the road, the dirt, and the track. <br /><br />The rendered moments are drop dead (especially for a handheld), but even the gameplay intercuts look pretty sweet. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/29/video-gran-turismo-psp-opening-movie-here-come-the-supercars/">Click through to the jump</a> and check it out - it will give you something to until GT5 comes out. <em>Thanks for the tip, Will!<br /> </em><br /> [Source: <a href="http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/tv/d5056.html">GranTurismo.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/29/video-gran-turismo-psp-opening-movie-here-come-the-supercars/">VIDEO: Gran Turismo PSP opening movie - Here come the supercars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 29 Sep 2009 13:00:00 EST. Last week, Sony announced that Gran Turismo 5 would launch by <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/25/gran-turismo-5-will-launch-march-2010-in-japan/">March 2010</a>. The folks at Polyphony Digital don't see things that way, though, as company boss Kazunori Yamauchi told reporters at a GT5 event that the game could launch in late 2009. And Yamauchi has apparently mentioned that both U.S. and European street dates won't be far behind the game's Japan launch, but the GT5 founder says that the exact launch date will be determined by marketing. Marketing? How about a soft launch for the hardcore GT5 enthusiasts while the ad geeks figure out how to sell the most advanced version of one of the most popular racing game franchises in history? <br />
<br />
In the meantime, our compatriots over at Joystiq have the lowdown on some additional gaming specifics that could be of interest to rabid GT5 fanboys. For starters, there will be over 70 variations of 20 or more locations, and some 950 cars will be on offer. Check out our high-res image gallery and learn more at the link below.<br />

Here at Autoblog, some of the background chatter re: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/Forza3/">Forza 3</a> vs. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GranTurismo5/">Gran Turismo 5</a> reaches Ford vs. Chevy levels of fervor - this blogger and our Editor-in-Chief get into it on IM fairly regularly. You see, Forza is one of few topics that gets our generally mild-mannered Neff all exercised. We usually go back and forth a bit, with Neff touting the virtues of Xbox Live and dissing the PS3 in general. The conversation usually ends after he's asked how many Xbox 360s have died on him (Editor's Note: Only one, thank you very much). <br />
<br />
Jibber-jabber aside, one thing that's obvious to all interested parties is that that both games <em>look </em>great, and that car variety won't be a problem. Earlier this week, word circulated that the gull-winged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG would be one of the cars making the GT5 roster. Today, Daimler released images of the car in-game. Spoiler alert: it looks cool. What's not cool is that Gran Turismo aficionados are likely <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/24/gran-turismo-5-will-launch-march-2010-in-japan/">at least six months away</a> from the promised land. <br />
When Gran Turismo 4 was launched in Japan for the Playstation 2, George Bush was just getting ready to start his second term and the Chrysler 300 was the big buzz in the auto world. In other words, January 10, 2005 was a very long time ago, and we're probably going to have to wait a while longer before we can finally get our hands on the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5. After half a decade of waiting for GT5, Sony has finally announced that the racing franchise will go on sale - in Japan - in March 2010. That's six months after the PSP version of the game goes on sale, and we still don't know when we'll be able to get our hands on the PS3 version here in the States. <br />
<br />
When GT5 does arrive, all evidence points to a very dynamic gaming experience. Advanced damage rendering, weather changes, night races, NASCAR and incredible detail have all been promised, and since we're being forced to wait so long, we're holding Kazunori Yamauchi personally responsible for GT5's success or failure. <br />

<br />
We're pretty excited about the new Gran Turismo 5 video game for the PlayStation 3 and PSP, and the sneak peeks we've seen so far have been astonishingly good. We know GT5 will have some sweet <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/13/report-gran-turismo-5-to-get-weather-changes-night-racing-an/">damage rendering</a> capabilities, night racing and weather changes. Plus, we know the graphics are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/">damned impressive</a>. But clearly there's more on the table.<br />
<br />
GT5 will be all well and good, but what we're about to show you is about as eye-popping as anything you're going to see. After the jump is a video rendering of the rare and alluring Koenigsegg CCX done by a company called Proper Graphics. It is not, as originally thought, a teaser from GT5. <br />
<br />
The clip is only 1:47 long, the engine doesn't start and the tires don't even budge. It's just a series of hovering camera shots of the CCX on a beautiful cobblestone road, and the detail is just shy of breathtaking. The sheetmetal, carbon fiber and interior appointments are about as detailed as anything we've ever seen, and we're hoping that we can expect a taste of this sort of thing in future GT installments. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/19/video-gran-turismo-5-shows-off-rendering-power-on-koenigsegg-cc/">Hit the jump</a> to see it for yourself.<br />

<br />
Well, we can put all the rumor-mongering to rest. Reader Larry Spector emailed us this morning with confirmation that Gran Turismo 5 will hit the shelves (and obliterate the productivity of thousands of PS3 owners) on December 29. Is Larry a sneaky Sony employee? Nope, he's a regular Amazon user like the rest of us, and today, GT5 showed up as a Gold Box item for him. The <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Gran-Turismo-5-Playstation-3/dp/B002BSA1C6/ref=xs_gb_20_left-3_3_B002BSA1C6?pf_rd_p=451293501&amp;pf_rd_s=center-3&amp;pf_rd_t=701&amp;pf_rd_i=20&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=13FHAAZ92ZXZMT2EFYA8">pre-order page</a> now features the release date, so wives, girlfriends, and other assorted family members expecting holiday togetherness can now formally make plans to leave us alone as we spiral into full-on, anti-social gamer mode the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Though, we have to say -- releasing the game <em>before </em>Christmas might have been the smart move, guys. Regardless, order's been placed. What're you waiting for?<br />

Psst...PlayStation fans: Bet you've been getting a little irked about all these screen shots and details about <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/forza3">Forza 3</a> for the xBox 360, haven't you? Well we've got something for you: the first batch of screen shots of the new Gran Turismo 5 for PS3. So far, it's just five shots of the Japanese Super GT-spec Nismo GT-R, but it looks good.<br /> <br /> The long awaited and highly anticipated fifth installment from the iconic racing simulator franchise packs some 1000 different vehicles to choose from - according to Sony, more than twice as many as its "closest racing competitor" (wonder <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/02/they-come-from-a-land-down-under-australian-v8-supercars-join-i/">who they're talking about</a>) - brought to life in unprecedented quality with state-of-the-art damage rendering, rollover crashes and the whole nine yards. There's even a sweet little feature worked in to allow gamers to export their favorite replay footage straight to YouTube. Alright, enough hype. <strong><em><small>Gran Turismo 5 damage rendering - Click above to watch video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/19/video-gran-turismo-5-gets-its-damage-rendering-on/">after the jump</a></small></em></strong></div>
<br />
If you're a big fan of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series like we are, you were probably bouncing off the walls when you heard the news that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/">GT5 would finally have damage rendering</a>. We're pretty pumped too, but at the same time we have to ask, what took so long? After all, Forza has had damage rendering since version 2 (<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/12/forza-motorsport-3-celebrates-past-and-present-of-jdm-in-new-scr/">Forza 3 is on the way</a>) and damage rendering can already be had on the PS3 in GRID.<br />
<br />
With GT5 coming to a store near you at some point in time for this year's holiday season, creator Polyphony is ramping up its marketing blitz to keep our interest piqued. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/19/video-gran-turismo-5-gets-its-damage-rendering-on/">Follow the jump</a> to view actual video proof that shows just how good damage rendering is on GT5. The 1:27 clip features a Subaru STI getting absolutely pummeled by walls and other drivers. We know the driving is bad on purpose in order to demonstrate how destructive GT5's damage rendering is, but we're hoping Kazunori Yamauchi isn't at the controls anyway. <span style="font-style: italic;">Hat tip to Jeremy!</span><br />

<br />
An entirely galaxy could have been birthed in the time it's taking for Gran Turismo 5 to arrive, but at least Sony is trying to make it worth everyone's while when the <em>portable</em> driving sim shows up October 1. If you pre-order Gran Turismo PSP, you'll be able to add one of five cars in select colors, the most special among them being a 1974 Lamborghini Countach LP400 in luscious Arancio (that's orange). <br />
<br />
This is the first time Lamborghini has made it to the pixelated world of GT, and the marketing manager promised it won't be the last. The other vehicles available include a Bugatti Veyron in Black M, an Enzo in Giallo (yellow), the GTbyCitroen in a deeper hue of butter, and a GT-R Spec V in metallic blue.<br />
<br />
You can still get the cars later even if you don't pre-order, just not in those colors, but in the meantime check them out in the high-res gallery below.<em>Thanks for the tip, Seminole</em><br />

<br />The almost impossibly long and low GTbyCITRO&Euml;N, which started life as a concept car for the wildly popular Gran Turismo gaming franchise (part of Polyphony Digital Inc. and Sony's Playstation empire), has made its first real-life foray through London in a recreation of the video game's street circuit.<br /><br />Though originally designed as nothing more than a model to drum up interest in the quirky French automaker and the oft-delayed next installment of Gran Turismo, there has reportedly been so much interest in the GT that there is actually a very real chance that Citroen will <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/01/report-psa-to-decide-on-gtbycitroen-production-within-four-week/">put the supercar into limited production</a>, possibly powered by a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/citroen-gt-making-jump-from-video-game-to-production-car/">rumbling V8 engine from Detroit</a>.<br /><br />While this <strike>thinly-disguised photo opportunity</strike> passage through Piccadilly surely took place at a snail's pace, we can only hope the French supercar aqcuits itself well as it storms up the upcoming 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill as part of the Sunday Times Supercar Run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which starts on July 3. <br />That screen cap you see above? That's the first evidence that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GranTurismo5/">Gran Turismo 5</a> will finally have damage rendering. The image is courtesy of the new GT5 trailer (posted <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/">after the break</a>) Polyphony Digital released today at the E3 gaming expo. Other bits to note: fully-licensed <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/2052931/">NASCAR</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/2052913/">WRC</a> racing have been added for the first time, and, in typical Gran Turismo fashion, PD hasn't released a firm date for the game's release.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/2052947/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/gran-turismo-psp2-250op.jpg" /></a>However, even more compelling than GT5's imminent arrival is what joined the release of the PSP Go (right), a lighter, more compact version of Sony's Playstation Portable (priced at $249.99). When the new 16-gig PSP arrives on October 1, you'll be able to download the first portable version of Gran Turismo - aptly named Gran Turismo Mobile - to the device. According to Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the GT series, this won't be a stripped-down version of the game. It boasts 60 frames-per-second rendering, 800 cars, 35 tracks, career and arcades modes, and the ability to play against three friends over the PSP Go's wifi connection. We haven't been able to find out if Gran Turismo Mobile will work on the current PSP platform, but we might be willing to shell out the coin if it means we can practice running the Nurburgring on our next flight to Germany.<br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/"><br />Make the jump</a> to view the full GT5 and PSP Go trailers, and check the galleries below for plenty of brand new high-res screen shots.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/">Gran Turismo 5</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/01-gt5-high_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02-gt5-high_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/03-gt5-high_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/04-gt5-high_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/05-gt5-high_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/">Gran Turismo PSP</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/01-gt-mobile_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02-gt-mobile_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/03-gt-mobile_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/04-gt-mobile_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-mobile/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/05-gt-mobile_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.gtplanet.net/">GTPlanet</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: GT5 trailer released, Gran Turismo for PSP coming this October</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/02/video-gt5-trailer-released-gran-turismo-for-psp-coming-this-oc/">VIDEO: GT5 trailer released, Gran Turismo for PSP coming this October</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 02 Jun 2009 20:01:00 EST. After all, the Quattro company has created <a href="http://www.yukom-client.de/client_space/audi_ar_08/#/nuerburgring/realtiyandillusion">a website to promote its car</a> on the N&uuml;rburgring in real life and in the game, and it interviewed GT5 mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi about what fans can expect. Yamauchi-san revealed that the game is going to offer not only more vehicles, more online features, and increased detail, but it will also include night racing, damage rendering (previously confirmed), and weather changes. <br /><br />If you watch the Audi R8 Meets Gran Turismo 5 video, one of the game developers even talks of one day providing weather reports for an entire 24-hour race, and you can read the interview with Yamauchi-san by clicking on a PDF link <a href="http://www.gtplanet.net/weather-changes-night-racing-in-gran-turismo-5/audi-r8-meets-gran-turismo-5/">here</a>. <br />When playing car racing video games, do you find yourself choosing vehicles or brands that you've owned in the past? We are definitely guilty as charged on this count, but it seems that this sort of logic works the other way too. People that play popular games like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gt5">Gran Turismo</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/pgr4/">Project Gotham Racing</a> have shown an affinity towards real-life vehicles that they used in the gaming realm. Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi Evolution anyone?<br /><br /><em>Financial Post</em> researchers recently conducted a brief study that put people in front of gaming consoles running car racing simulators. Other people were placed in separate rooms where the games were being broadcast, but not played. Afterward, both groups were surveyed, and the results were eye opening. Those that played the video games responded that they were 50% more likely to purchase vehicles that they used in the video games than those that just watched.<br /><br />Sure, these results don't necessarily prove anything, but <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/03/citroen-gt-concept-now-available-on-gt5-prologue/">automakers</a> and advertisers have certainly taken notice. Current estimates put the in-game advertising market at $1.8 billion within the next few years.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/">Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/tamora_006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.financialpost.com/executive/story.html?id=1222045">Financial Post</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/09/study-says-driving-cars-in-video-games-builds-positive-brand-rel/">Study suggests driving cars in video games could lead to more purchases in real-life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Feb 2009 16:56:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />We've been playing Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for about a year now on our PS3, and it looks like we'll be waiting another 12 months before we get our hands on the full version. Spanish newspaper <em>El Financiero</em> claims that senior executives at Polyphony point to a Christmas 2009 date for the full GT5. This comes after GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi told our friends over at Joystiq that the debut of GT5 might not happen until sometime in 2010. The full GT5 would contain far more race tracks and vehicles than the already competent Prologue, which we would welcome with open arms. Many are speculating that, like previous versions, GT5 will first be launched in Japan. That means it's highly likely that we'll have all the details on the prodigious racing game well before it hits our shores.<br /><br />While we're hopeful that GT5 finds its way underneath our Christmas tree next year, the GT racing series has been anything but timely. One example could be the promised GT4 for PSP. It was announced four years ago in 2004 and Polyphony execs insist that it is still forthcoming - after GT5 is finally released.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/">Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gran-turismo-5-prologue-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/tamora_006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/01/rumor-gran-turismo-5-on-track-for-holiday-09-release-in-europe/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/03/gran-turismo-5-could-arrive-stateside-in-late-2009/">Gran Turismo 5 could arrive Stateside in late 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 03 Dec 2008 07:57:00 EST. <br />Polyphony's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is about to get a pretty substantial upgrade. The next time you boot up your Playstation 3, an update will be available for GT5 that will add the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/02/paris-2008-the-gt-by-citroen-no-the-whole-thing-this-time/">GT by Citroen</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/02/paris-2008-ferrari-california-in-the-flesh/">Ferrari's new California</a> and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/22/london-2008-lotus-unveils-the-evora/">Lotus Evora</a>. Lotus fans <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/01/drive-the-lotus-evora-virtually-in-the-uk/">got a sneak peek</a> into the Evora's GT5 inclusion at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/BritishMotorShow/">British Motor Show</a> a few weeks back, and now everybody gets to join in on the aluminum-intensive fun. It's always a pleasure to strap yourself in a Ferrari, in real-life or virtually, and the California is the latest Italian Stallion around, so its addition was a foregone conclusion. The biggest news, though, is the new French GT, which its maker says was "a partnership between Citro&euml;n and Polyphony." In the game-realm, the new GT concept will be powered by electrons generated from a hydrogen fuel cell. Even if the technology isn't quite ready for prime time in your driveway, it can always make waves in digital form, running around various race tracks while emitting nothing but water.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/">GTbyCitroen, Lotus Evora and Ferrari California in GT5</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/2908390223_a8e58dd200_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GTbyCitroen" title="GTbyCitroen" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/2908378717_de4236bace_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ferrari California" title="Ferrari California" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/2908421063_5205365367_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Lotus Evora" title="Lotus Evora" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/2908391923_81454192da_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GTbyCitroen" title="GTbyCitroen" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gtbycitroen-lotus-evora-and-ferrari-california-in-gt5/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/2908391027_08cd7ceae6_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GTbyCitroen" title="GTbyCitroen" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/02/gran-turismo-5-prologue-update-available-now-and-includes-new-cars/">PlayStation Blog</a> via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/03/gt5-prologue-update-now-available-adds-3-new-cars/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/03/citroen-gt-concept-now-available-on-gt5-prologue/">Citroen GT Concept now available in GT5 Prologue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 03 Oct 2008 14:29:00 EST. <br />In a move more "Um, yeah..." than "Oh yeah!", Citroen has released the sixth teaser image of the car that will, one of these days, be revealed entirely to the world, all at once, front and back. We aren't even sure if this qualifies as a tease, since getting a glimpse at a front end we've already seen doesn't really ring the bell. What we can say is that one of our commenters appears to be right: the car does look like it's only 10 inches high. Relive the magic of the slowest reveal ever in the gallery of high-res photos below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/">Sony/Citroen GT Teaser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citr_gt_6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.4wheelsnews.com/citroen-releases-6th-teaser-of-the-gt-concept/">4 Wheels News</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/30/how-you-say-enough-in-french-citroen-releases-sixth-gt-teaser/">How you say "enough" in French: Citroen releases sixth GT teaser</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 30 Sep 2008 10:57:00 EST. <br />Citroen has let slip another drip in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/citroen+gt/">GT by Citroen</a> reveal, and this time it's a video showing off the dramatic shapes of "The Drive of Your Life." Dig those mirrors, and the glasshouse swept back in monumental fashion. Whatever is pushing the car's massive rims apparently needs a lot of air, with two raked scoops behind the canopy and two more on the sides ahead of the rear wheels. And the rear end of the car looks like -- dare we say it -- a tail... It's Mach 5 if the car comes together like we expect, or platypus if it doesn't. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ParisMotorShow/">Paris Motor Show</a> reveal is in but a few days, and you can mark us down as officially excited. Check out the video after the jump and more teaser pics in the gallery below. <span style="font-style: italic;">Thanks for the tip, Nick!</span><br /><br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/">Sony/Citroen GT Teaser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citr_gt_6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/movie/d2612.html">Gran Turismo</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/29/video-and-new-pics-citroen-gt-in-stereoscopic-darkness/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO and new PICS: Citroen GT in stereoscopic darkness</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/29/video-and-new-pics-citroen-gt-in-stereoscopic-darkness/">VIDEO and new PICS: Citroen GT in stereoscopic darkness</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 29 Sep 2008 12:59:00 EST. <br />It's time for your next dose of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/25/more-intensity-4th-citroen-gt-teaser-image/">GT by Citroen</a> concept. To the commenter who wrote that the front of the car looks like a catfish -- well, in a victory for symmetry, the back of the car looks like a catfish, too, and a couple of other gilled sea creatures. No matter its fishy similarities, it also look like it will be a lot of fun to throw this baby around Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The tease can't go on much longer -- the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ParisMotorShow/">Paris Motor Show</a> begins in a week. We'll be there with cameras and bait, just in case.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/">Sony/Citroen GT Teaser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citr_gt_6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sony-citroen-gt-teaser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/citrogtcap04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.zercustoms.com/news/Citroen-GT-rear-end.html">Zer Customs</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/26/hanging-back-gt-by-citroen-rear-comes-up-for-air/">Hanging back: GT by Citroen rear comes up for air</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 26 Sep 2008 11:31:00 EST.
