The package, done in partnership with the travel agency, TUI, is available on the Golf, Golf Plus, and Polo. The program is straightforward: purchase any of the VW Tour models and you get one free day on TUI vacation packages of 7+ days (no flight) or 14+ days (including flights). To qualify for the deal, the reservations need to be made between Nov 1, '06 and March 31 '07.

The cars each get a "Tour" graphic with the TUI smiley logo on the C-pillar, available Olympia blue pearlescent finish (nice), and a specific equipment group that includes upgraded wheels, A/C, a good audio system, the ParkPilot parking assist system, and cruise control (depending on engine selection).

Inside, the Tour editions receive interior trim kits, "popcorn"-look seat inserts, and leather coverings for the wheel and handbrake. There's an optional winter package that adds seat heaters, heated washer jets, foglamps, and a winter wheel/tire package that features steel wheels and hubcaps to go with the included seasonal rubber.

To sum it up, VW offers the free day's vacation as an incentive, and then trims the car to make the road trip there all the more enjoyable. Better or worse idea than a free guitar?

(Photos, press release after the jump)

[Source: Volkswagen]
Continue reading Volkswagen Euro-models go on Tour

Volkswagen Euro-models go on Tour originally appeared on Autoblog on Sun, 15 Oct 2006 14:47:00 EST.
