GM's hybrid transmission plant goes solar
For the past five years General Motors has had an ongoing effort to reduce energy consumption at all of its facilities. To that end they have reduced their energy use by twenty-five percent. So far renewable energy sources represent about 2 percent of all of GM's energy use. Considering how much energy is used in building cars and trucks, that's a lot of renewable energy. GM has has reduced their energy consumption from 94 trillion BTUs in 2002 to 72.5 trillion BTUs in 2006.
