We aren't sure what country this is, but parking-lot etiquette is clearly a foreign concept. Even without the the guy who thinks it's just peachy-keen to block everyone else in, this lot is a circus.

When faced with adversity, however, those affected by their fellow motorist's lack of consideration respond with aplomb. While we'd have just hopped the curb and driven across the grass to avoid the melee, the drivers in the video embedded after the jump above took it upon themselves to do a little rearranging.

With some careful pushing and shoving, a little guidance and a healthy dose of skill, these guys manage to weasel their way out of what an infuriating situation. In the end, they even returned one of the cars they moved to its rightful spot. When life gives you lemons...

We love kids... other people's kids, that is. Yours truly doesn't have any progeny of his own to look after, so the need for a vehicle that has loads of interior space is mostly lost on me. If you do have some screaming little'uns to look after, though, your vehicular choices suddenly become a bit narrower in focus, and things like folding rear seats, power liftgates and rear-seat entertainment systems begin to look less like unnecessary expenses and more like valuable life- and time-savers.

Regardless of whether or not you have kids of your own, you've surely been trapped inside a moving vehicle full of the little buggers. Assuming that's the case, we'll step a bit further out on the limb and figure that you've had your own thoughts on how best to deal with the, ahem... problem. Anything you can do, ~~men~~ I can do better. Sometimes, it seems that those of us who are of the male persuasion seem to think that we can do just about anything. And we're right, most of the time. There do exist those rare occurrences, however, when that hubris gets in the way of actual life.

Fortunately, there are women. For the most part, these fairer creatures don't seem to be struck with the tendency to want to prove their ~~masculinity~~ femininity at every possible juncture. And, as we recently learned, men tend to be worse off behind the wheel because of it.

Such is the case with today's Funny Car Commercial of the Day. Three men from South Africa embark on a bass-ackwards journey just to prove a point. Oh, and despite the ending, we feel the need to mention that the men did, in fact, make it to Capetown as promised. Point made. Mazda's commercial advertisements have long relied on the "Zoom Zoom" catchphrase, denoting that the assorted vehicles from the Japanese automaker are more fun to drive than their more staid competition. But eventually even Mazda drivers need to find a parking spot after Zoom Zooming themselves around all day.

Plus, even the smallest and most practical of cars, in this case a diminutive Mazda2 from the United Kingdom, have trouble parallel parking into the tight confines of an urban parking spot... unless, of course, there happens to be a Rube Goldburg-esque (though imminently more simplistic) contraption in place to ease the sketchy situation.

Football fans - or, if you happen to live in the United States... soccer fans - are well aware that 2010 is the year of the FIFA World Cup. The international competition has been run every four year since 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not contested because of World War II. Stay tuned for this year's festivities in June and July from South Africa.

What does ~~soccer~~ football have to do with cars? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Unless you are Renault, it would seem. The French automaker has been associating itself with the sport for the last few years with a series of print and video advertisements for its Megane hatchback.

Having since moved to the sunny state of Arizona, however, dealing with the scenario particular situation isn't on this blogger's agenda any time soon.

Just like with their furry companions, it seems that dogfishes are so much more interesting and fun than catfish. We don't know of anyone that keeps a catfish as a pet, and even if they did, catfish don't like to go on walks or for car rides. Heck, catfish don't even want to get out of the water. Dogfishes do all of these things. What do they have to do with cars? We have no idea. Identity crisis? Repressed brand allegiance? People who intentionally rebrand their rides have reasons all their own. Take this pickup I encounted on my drive home yesterday. Maybe the giant bowtie on the tailgate is trying to compensate for something, but size doesn't matter here; there's no hiding the fact that this thing's still a Ford Ranger. Bowtie stickers also get applied to the front fenders, but the proverbial cherry on top revealed itself when I pulled ahead. Yep, that's a genuine gold bowtie badge where the blue oval ought to be. If you want to make your car or truck a member of the transbranded community, all you need is a few badges, some adhesive, a sense of humor, and maybe an ASE certified technician. Hey, everybody's doing it.

Used Integra, CHEAP!

Normally, the phrase "only rolled once" isn't considered a positive attribute in a used car ad. For the sellers of this distressed 1999 Acura Integra, however, it's a defining characteristic. The high points (now low, due to the vehicle's inverted status) are that the parts should be in fine shape on this 60,000 mile example. If you needed an engine, trans or interior from a low mileage donor, this might be your car. We do hope that it didn't stay upside down for long, though, for the engine's sake. If not, all the oil that's likely filled up the cylinders will make starting a challenge.

Attention teen drivers: Dysfunctional driving video keeps it real

When I took driver's ed, the short movies we had to watch decades old and horribly dated. The techniques shown, which applied for bias-ply tires and rear wheel drive, didn't cross over neatly to front wheel drive cars shod with modern radials.

Tipster Martijn turned us on to this amusing bit of satire that's a send-up of driver-ed instructional fare created by Bruno Bozzetto. Though not the newest video to hit the web, it still very, very funny. Consider it a reminder of how being alert and aware is the most important thing you can do in any situation, and how the "herd mentality" usually spells trouble. Well, that's what we took from it, anyway. Enjoy the show after the jump.

In the "Easily Amused" category for today is this video of an unfortunate racer who loses an all-important component -- a tire (or tyre, if you're so inclined to use the British spelling). The wayward appendage put on quite a show for the cameras, bouncing without interrupting the rest of the race and then lands in just about the funniest place possible -- play the video to check it out.

Woodward Dream Cruise 2006: the funny cars of Woodward gallery

In addition to classic, exotic, and muscle cars inching up and down Woodward Avenue this weekend, there were also vehicles that defy discription and brought a smile to the face of everyone they passed. Take this one, for instance. We saw the Metro hot-rod cruising the avenue and finally caught it parked, but sans owner. The Geo Metro's stock three-cylinder motor has been replaced with a more potent mill and rear-wheel drive drivetrain.

Ford Futura Spring GT/A Wagon shows C&D's lighter side

With all the talk of impending doom in Detroit, Car and Driver decided to ease the tension in its current June 2006 issue with a mock review of the 2006 Ford Futura Sprint GT/A Wagon. The facts, figures and specs surrounding the Futura Sprint are written with such a straight face that at times author John Phillips has us believing this punchline exists.

Some interesting notes about the fictitious Ford include its dual driver's side and mono passenger side doors, single three-person front bench seat (that's it for seating), airbag-less five-spoke steering wheel, Hurst shifter and narrow-angle Miller-cycle 3.0L V6.

If you look closely at the pictures you can see a Mazda6 wagon peeking through the expertly applied Photoshop, but the engine pic looks like the Yamaha 3.0L unit from the Taurus SHO, the taillights are from the Fusion, and the dash from the Mazda6. Shout out if you see any other car parts in the Futura's collage.
