This. Is. Awesome. Autoblog reader Jason L. over at Second Method Graphic Design has been so kind as to share a couple of skins he's devised for both the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and the McLaren MP4-12C in Forza Motorsports 3. Why do we care? Because these particular wraps are a tribute to a certain blog that obsessively covers the auto industry. Call us vain, but there's something cool about seeing our logo slathered all down the sides of two very lust worthy pieces of metal, even if they only live in the virtual realm.

Maybe we should talk to Cadillac about getting into a long-term tester with a similar theme. Something tells us that McLaren would be somewhat less receptive. Leder says that you can purchase either of the two designs through his Forza storefront for a nominal fee. The guy also has a slew of other very attractive liveries in case you don't feel like sporting your AB pride on your fenders. It's fine, we won't be offended. In fact, might we suggest The Simpsons-inspired Datsun 510 in Mr. Sparkle livery or the Ikea Saab 9-3?

The nine additional cars offered for your virtual gratification include the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG, Acura TSX, Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart, Fiat Punto Evo Sport, Kia Forte Koup, 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, 2011 Citroen DS3 and 2011 Mazda 2. There are exotics, and then there are exotics. Some are relatively commonplace, like Porsches, Lamborghinis or Ferraris. But some are decidedly, well... exotic. Like Spykers, Gumperts and Moslers, to name just a few. Those most exotic of exotics are the contents of the latest downloadable content package for Forza 3, the hit racing game for the Xbox 360.

Called, suitably enough, the Exotic Car Pack, it contains the SSC Ultimate Aero, Weismann GT MF5, Devon GTX, Spada Codatronca TS, Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85, Mosler MT900S, Rossion Q1, Radical SR8 LM and Gumpert Apollo S, plus an Australian exotic called the Joss JT1. The package costs 400 Microsoft points (equivalent to $5) on Xbox Live, but you can check them out now in the high-res screen-shot gallery below and the video after the jump.

Fall 2009 was supposed to be the next golden age of the racing game, with the genre's two heavy hitters - Forza Motorsport 3 and Gran Turismo 5 - scheduled for release. While Xbox 360 owners were rewarded with an incredibly good Forza 3, several delays of GT5 wrecked the plans of many a Playstation 3 owner, this writer included.

But since we were hell-bent on a new racing game, the decision was made to take a chance on another new racing game that was receiving some good press: Need for Speed Shift. We've spent the last two months playing Shift on PS3 to keep ourselves busy until GT5 is finally released. Were we disappointed or pleasantly surprised with the dark horse of the racing game pack? AutoWeek gets its own Forza 3 Car Show Pack, where's the love?

Forza Motorsport 3 will soon feature an add-on car pack featuring ten rides handpicked by the scribes at AutoWeek. Apparently, it took two podcasts worth of deliberations to settle on the finalists, but the AutoWeek Show Car Pack bundles the 2009 Audi R8 LMS, Audi RS 6, Lotus 2-Eleven, 2010 Aston Martin One-77, BMW Motorsport M6 Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Shelby GT500, Pagani Zonda R, Porsche Boxster S, and the almost imaginary Saleen S5S Raptor.

The pack comes online January 12, and you can get it for 400 MS points on Xbox Live. We'd like to take this moment to invite Forza to create an Autoblog Car Show Pack. We'll start with the Gumpert Apollo and Caterham CSR, and you readers can let the developers know which cars you'd like to see in comments. Turn10, check's in the mail. Promise.

We never cease to be amazed at just how good some folks are at video games. While we're as good at the button-mashing shuffle as the next guy, sometimes our brains and hands just won't cooperate. Drifting is a prime example. We know we need to rev the engine to get the tires to spin, but our finger sometimes run us into brick walls when our mind has us running the line. We know we're not alone here, but the post-jump Forza 3 drifting video is proof positive that some guys are just spiritually in tune with their XBOX 360 controller.

The proud owner of this virtual drift video chose a Datsun 510 as the super drifting car extraordinaire, and it's obvious that this guy or girl plays entirely too much Forza 3. Solid drifts quickly turn to masterful pirouetting and backwards drifts, sliding to within inches of virtual guard rails. Pretty amazing stuff. Hit the jump to watch for yourself.

So, you think the new Forza 3 is pretty awesome, huh? Well that's because it is. But it's about to get a little bit awesome-er thanks to the combined miracles of the holiday season and the internet.

That's right, the internet is the modern equivalent of Santa Clause - just as tangible and bearing more gifts - and here's what it's got in store for us this year: the Hot Holidays DLC Car Pack from Turn 10 Studios, the game company behind the Forza Motorsport franchise.

The package includes ten new cars, and Turn 10's already confirmed eight of them (one for each night of Hanukah, if you ask those dreidel-spinning journalists among us): the 2010 Audi S4, Nissan GT-R SpecV, Ferrari 599XX, Ferrari 458 Italia, Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, Lamborghini Murcielago MP670-4 SuperVeloce, Jaguar XFR and Porsche Panamera Turbo, plus two of the most devastating Le Mans prototypes - the #2 Audi R15 TDI and #007 Aston Martin Lola. The car pack is downloadable as of today (December 8) for 400 Microsoft Points directly on XBox Live, a magical place (headquartered at the North Pole, we gather) where no one gives a hoot if you've been naughty or nice. As far as art imitating life goes, it doesn't get much more realistic than Forza 3. But it was only a matter of time before life would in turn imitate art, and here it is: the Audi TT Forza Motorsport Edition.

Launched by Audi in conjunction with Microsoft, the Forza edition TT is being released to coincide with the rollout of the highly anticipated new video game. Of course, it comes with the requisite badging, but the real surprise is the bundled Xbox 360 Elite console, complete with a copy of Forza 3, in the trunk. We've yet to receive official confirmation beyond reports surfacing on overseas gaming sites, but sources suggest a retail price of about $35,000.

Forza Motorsport 3: Official car list and free DLC announced, new trailer released [w/VIDEO]

For the last several months, the folks over at Turn 10 Studios have teased us with previews of the cars that will star in Forza Motorsports 3. The highlights have included Ferraris, American muscle, sedans and SUVs, a variety of Japanese sports and racing cars, the almighty Bugatti 16.4 Veyron, and more. Now with the video game's official release less than a month away, Turn 10 has finally released the complete list of cars that will appear in the hotly anticipated video game. Buyers will be able to choose from more than 400 cars from over 50 manufacturers, all of which can be played using the new cockpit view and customized in the tuning and paint shop. Interestingly, although there are a number of historical Nissan GT-Rs from both street and track, the current car is not included in the roster.

But wait, there's more! In addition to releasing the full list of cars, Turn 10 also announced that those who purchase Forza 3 on launch day will receive a one-time-use token that will allow them to download ten additional cars and two extra tracks. On that list is the '57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and the '65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, which means we will be officially picking up the game on the first day it's out.

There are 29 Ferraris in Forza Motorsport 3, from the 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO to today's 599 GTB. And just for good measure, the kind folks at Forza threw in a few dream(ier) rides, including modern FIA GT cars, as well as the F40 and F50 Competizione models. You want more? Done. You'll be able to download the all-new Ferrari 458 Italia just in time for the holidays.

Ah, but what if you don't have an XBox? If you're one of the scores of devoted Gran Turismo fans, you won't be left out in the cold. Polyphony Digital is also including the brand new Fezza in GT5, and in an apparent game of one-upmanship, the GT camp and the Forza family have released their own Ferrari teasers. Can't wait until Forza 3 hits stores on October 27th? You're in luck! Turn 10 Studios has announced that a demo version will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace starting September 24th, allowing you to get a taste of the improved graphics and new features that will be a part of the third installment of the racing game. The preview includes the full circuit of the Camino Viejo racetrack, a mountain course inspired by roads outside of Barcelona, as well as a selection of five cars:

2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro
2009 Ferrari California
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
2009 Mini John Cooper Works

The demo will also allow you to experience new aspects of the game like the full cockpit view and the rewind feature. As with FM2, damage and rollovers are part of the game, meaning you'll have to avoid the guardrails if you want to cross the finish line in one piece. Need something more to whet your taste? Whatever kind of cars you're into, Forza 3 looks like it'll have you covered. The XBox 360 driving game from Turn 10 Studios is quickly emerging to be the best simulator yet, packed with four hundred cars from fifty automakers on a hundred different tracks.

We've recently brought you screen shots and gameplay video footage of some of the most tantalizing machinery under the sun on Forza's virtual circuits - from American muscle cars and sport-utes to Bugattis and Japanese Super GTs - and now Turn 10 has announced a partnership with race organizers Down Under to include Australian V8 Supercars into the game as well. The additional car selection boils down to Holden Commodore VEs and Ford Falcons in a variety of actual liveries, so if you can't make it half way around the world to see the Aussie touring cars go wheel to wheel, you'll soon be able to drive them (virtually) at home. Forza Motorsport 3 developer Turn 10 Studios has decided to share some exclusive video footage with Autoblog (and our sister site Joystiq) that features one of our favorite cars: the Bugatti Veyron. When the game is released, you'll be able to take the wheel of the world's most expensive 'bug' without having to drop $1.6 million large. And of course, you'll get to customize it all you like. Take that, Sang Bleu...

Said Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt, "Including the Veyron allows our fans and community to experience one of the world's rarest supercars at an unparalleled level of realism. Few people will ever get to see this car in person, let alone race or drive one, so the fact that we have it in Forza Motorsport 3 where it's fully drivable, tunable, paintable and even damageable is a very exciting concept to us. Damaging the Veyron in the game wouldn't be as bad as overcooking the real thing into the Armco, but we still recommend against it. However, having driven the thing twice, we can say that if you can get the actual Veyron to lay down rubber or drift through corners, then please give us a call - we have a trophy for you... While we don't have much interest in what's going on at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this week, we do appreciate that it's cause enough for Turn 10 Studios to release 25 new screen shots and a video from the upcoming Forza Motorsport 3 video game. There's not really a theme to the cars featured - they range from a 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R to the 2008 Lamborghini Reventon - but we could really care less. It mostly just makes us want to put Forza 2 back in the XBox to try and whittle down some lap times and mess with suspension tuning in preparation for when F3 hits stores in October. Forza Motorsport 3 celebrates past and present of JDM in new screenshots

More and more folks are slowly but surely coming to the realization that old school Japanese metal is pretty cool. Stylish, too. For instance, have you ever noticed how much a Toyota Celica Supra looks like a Lamborghini Jarama? Or that a first generation Miata is a dead ringer for Lotus Elan? Before you start screaming about the Japanese being styling thieves, let's remember two things.

As Woody Allen has said, "Be original, don't steal. But if you do, steal from the best." The other is that if you counted up all the running Jaramas and Elans on the world, you'd have a very, very small number. So if not for the Japanese, these shapes would be lost. Then, of course, you have cars like the Datsun 510, a design that looks even sharper now than it did forty years ago -- especially the sedan. And then there's the 240Z, a true icon.

In recognition of this, the brains behind Forza Motorsport 3 are including a bunch of vintage JDM rides in their upcoming XBox racing game that's on schedule to be released this October. Including some racers like the 1997 Nissan Motorsports R390, a homologated Le Mans car, meaning two street examples exist, and they can hit 60 mph in 3.3. seconds, run the quarter in 11 seconds flat and top out at 220 mph. While we think 99% of the cars Forza's including are brillinat, we don't quite get the Scion xD. Thanks for the tip, Brandon!

Latest Forza 3 update highlights American Muscle

Turn 10 Studio's bi-weekly update on the new cars and tracks of the upcoming Forza 3 video game turned its attention to American Muscle today, offering a sneak peek of some of the current and classic American Iron that will be featured in the game. Not surprisingly, the latest round of muscle cars are on the 400+ car list including the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. You'll also be able to pilot the king of the Nürburgring, the 2008 Dodge Viper ACR, around the legendary German track and see how close you can get to the record time of 7:22.1. As always, many of the classics will be available including the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427, 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, 1967 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C and more.

Like the last update, which featured sedans and SUVs, Forza 3 also previewed some unconventional track vehicles like the 2008 Saleen S331 Supercab and the 2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10. Rather not take either of those on a road course? Well, you're in luck. The update also included news about a new track, Sedona Autopark Raceway - that's a drag strip. Gamers can set the distance of the strip anywhere from an eighth-mile to a full mile to test the acceleration capabilities of their digital rides.

It's been two weeks since Forza Motorsport blessed us with one of their Pit Pass blog updates, so that means it's time for another round of screen shots and a look at some of the new vehicles that will be in the third installment of the video game set to hit store in October. Previous installments have included a Le Mans and a Japanese theme, and but time the focus is on 'sport luxury' vehicles. We say vehicles and not cars, because Forza 3 will also feature an entire range of SUVs and crossovers. That's right, you'll be able to tackle Le Mans or Laguna Seca in a BMW X5 xDrive 4.8i, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Audi Q7 V12 TDI, Volkswagen Toureg R50, and more. Forza 3's updated vehicle list also now includes new models like the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, BMW E60 M5, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Pontiac G8 GXP, and more. More evidence of Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake?

In order to put real cars in video games, game studios need to buy licenses from automobile manufacturers. Remember that Cayman shooting brake/breadvan mule recently spotted on the streets of Europe and supposed by many commenters to be a fake? It's been captured in Forza Motorsport 3.

While this doesn't mean we'll be seeing such a conveyance on the roads any time soon, or that it is in fact a Porsche product and not a tuner special, gamemakers Turn 10 would need to have spoken to Porsche (or whomever is responsible) about including a car that no one even know about a few weeks ago. If this is all real then, after the unlikely Panamera, could the next item on Porsche's list really be a mid-engined mini wagon? Hat tip to Mike.

Turn 10 Studios has blessed us with another round of screen shots from the upcoming Forza Motorsport 3, as well as a few more hints regarding the tracks and vehicles in the game. The previous update had a Le Mans theme, but this time the focus is on Japan, highlighted by a selection of both cars and tracks from the Land of the Rising Sun.

While the complete line-up of Japanese cars hasn't been released, those listed give us a good idea of the range of vehicles due to be offered. You'll be able to drive everything from sub-compacts like the 2008 Toyota Yaris S and 2009 Honda Fit Sport to the race cars from the Super GT series including the Nismo Nissan GT-R. Of course, Japanese icons are also available, including the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Subaru Impreza WRX STi as well as the latest range of sports cars like the Lexus IS-F and Nissan 370Z.

As far as tracks go, you'll be able to drive on some of Japan's best race venues including the Suzuka, Twin Ring Motegi, and the Tsukuba. With over 100 real-world tracks available in the game, we're guessing this is only a small sampling of the list. Virtual Le Mans Is On: Forza Motorsport 3 confirms Circuit De La Sarthe

The real 24 Hours of Le Mans just ended, but thanks to the upcoming release of Forza Motorsport 3, you'll be able to recreate the battle between Audi and Peugeot any time you want. Turn 10, the developers of FM3, have confirmed the game's inclusion of Circuit De La Sarthe, including every famous turn and that most monster of straights, the Mulsanne. We're told that the entire 8.5-mile course and its 21 famously named turns have been painstakingly recreated - even the shorter Bugatti circuit will be playable.

La Sarthe is no stranger to being virtually recreated in video games. Most recently, the extremely addicting racer GRiD offered up Le Mans in between seasons while playing in career mode. The third installment of Forza, however, will be the most detailed recreation yet.

Turn 10 has also announced a partial list of race cars with which you'll be able to tackle the 24 Hours of Le Mans in your living room. In addition to this year's Le Mans-winning Peugeot 908, Audi's R8 and diesel-powered R10 will be available. There's no mention of the newer R15, but we expect Turn 10 to complete the roster of Audi LMP1 cars with some downloadable content later on.
