<br />The Goodwood Festival of Speed took place last weekend at the Earl of March's home in West Sussex, England. Like every year, this event attracted throngs of auto fans from around the world, as well as celebrities (<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128112/">Jay Leno</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128052/">Peter Fonda</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128109/">Jesse James</a>, etc.), manufacturers and motorsports teams. <br /><br />The Hillclimb that takes place on 1.19 miles of Goodwood Estate's parkland roads served as the main attraction, and we've got plenty of shots of the action. Vehicles like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128035/">Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss</a> (driven by Moss himself, no less), <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128034/">Bertone Mantide</a>, a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128112/">McLaren F1 GTR</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128065/">Porsche 911 GT1</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128061/">Pagoni Zonda <strike>Cinque</strike> R</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/2128027/">Audi R15 TDI</a> and a whole bunch of F1 cars can be seen attacking the hill. A few NASCAR race cars from various eras even jumped the puddle to attend. We've also got photo coverage of the Forest Rally Stage, as well as shots of the general atmosphere on the Earl of March's lawn over the weekend.<br /><br />Check it all out in the gallery below, complete with descriptions to help you follow along.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/">Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwood09_timbrown009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ferrari 599XX" title="Ferrari 599XX" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwood09_timbrown019_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwood09_timbrown000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwood09_timbrown001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwood09_timbrown002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Photos: Tim Brown/ <a href="http://www.motion-captured.com/">Motion Captured</a>, <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/motion-captured/">Flickr</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2009-mega-gallery/">Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009 Mega Gallery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 06 Jul 2009 19:56:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>Goodwood Festival of Speed Audi Sculpture - Click above for image gallery of more GFoS sculptures</small></span><br /></div>
<br />The Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place this weekend, and every year the Earl of March, who manages the 12,000-acre Goodwood estate that hosts the event, commissions a giant art piece honoring that year's featured marque. Audi is the featured marque this year, which is timely since the Ingolstadt-based automaker is also celebrating its centennial. <br /><br />This year's sculpture that was commissioned for Audi is a big swoosh of tire tracks with a 1937 Auto Union streamliner and new Audi R8 V10 suspended at either end. Standing 135-feet tall and weighing 40 tonnes, as they say in Britain, the piece is made entirely of steel to support itself without braces or cables. <a href="http://www.judah.co.uk/">Gerry Judah</a> is the designer, as he has been for Goodwood's featured art installations since 1997 when he first designed one for Ferrari. This is also the second time he's produced a piece for Audi, the first one being back in 1999. <br /><br />It goes without saying that we all want to stick this in the flower bed in our front yard, but unfortunately you'll only be able to see it if you're in West Sussex this weekend to enjoy the Goodwood Festival of Speed. <br /><br />Check out more pics of this year's Audi sculpture, as well as art pieces from prior years, in the gallery below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/">Goodwood Festival of Speed Art Sculptures</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwoodsculptures000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwoodsculptures001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwoodsculptures002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwoodsculptures003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-art-sculptures/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/goodwoodsculptures004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Audi, Photos courtesy of <a href="http://www.judah.co.uk/">Gerry Judah</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/goodwood-festival-of-speed-featuring-135-foot-monument-to-audi/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Goodwood Festival of Speed featuring 135-foot monument to Audi</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/goodwood-festival-of-speed-featuring-135-foot-monument-to-audi/">Goodwood Festival of Speed featuring 135-foot monument to Audi</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 16:25:00 EST. And once again, we have a full calendar of events to keep our minds on the positive aspects of our industry. Show season is in full swing so you'll find plenty of concours events, cruise nights, and local shows filling July weekends. In America, Meadowbrook is the star of July, but there are also other interesting events like the GoodGuys Heartland Nationals, Hudson-Essex-Terraplane meet in Pontiac, New England Concours d'Elegance in Vermont, the First Annual Great American Car Show in Massachusetts, Micros on the Monument in Racine, International Bricklin Owners Club Annual Grand National Meet, and the Alfa Romeo Owners Club National Meet in Portland, among others.<br /><br />There's lots of racing in July, too. Most Formula 1 teams will make a brief stop at Goodwood before resuming their regular racing schedule at the N&uuml;rburgring, followed by the Hungarian GP at the end of the month. IndyCar hits Watkins Glen, the Streets of Toronto, and the airport course in Edmonton. NASCAR fans can look forward to races in Daytona, Chicago, and at the Brickyard. ALMS teams can take it easy after the marathon that was the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a two-hour stint at Lime Rock Park. <br /><br />There will also be plenty of other random racing action in July, with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/goodwood/">Goodwood Festival of Speed</a>, the Portland Historic Races, Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Kohler International Challenge with Brian Redman, and the New England Forest Rally. Green car fans can look forward to the Eco-Rally U.S.A. 2009, and bike fans can take in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix or AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio.<br /><br />If none of those events appeals to you, check the Google Calendar <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/event-alert-july-calendar-of-automotive-events/">after the jump</a> for even more listings, all with detailed info and links. Please use the comments section to add or modify listings. <br />In a press release announcing the cars it would be taking to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jaguar's own Mike Cross has officially confirmed the coming of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/28/jaguar-to-make-a-roaring-lion-xkr-goodwood-special-mooted/">Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special</a>. We noted before that it would be louder and faster and detailed in satin graphite, but now we find out it will get a lower ride height over 21-inch wheels and - are you ready? - "a unique Lime Green paint scheme and XKR exterior graphic" as shown above. Alrighty, then.<br /><br />That hard-to-miss car will join a few more trailers of Jaguar goodies, including the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/detroit-2009-faster-pussycat-jaguar-xfr-pounces-on-bonneville/">225 mph Bonneville XFR</a>, a 1957 Long Nose D-Type, a Le Mans winning C-Type, and the one-of-a-kind Jaguar XJ13. Goodwood is just around the corner (July 3-5), and you can read all about Jaguar's plans in the press release after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: Jaguar]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/jaguar-officially-announces-xkr-goodwood-special-in-lime-gree/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Jaguar officially announces XKR Goodwood Special... in lime green</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/jaguar-officially-announces-xkr-goodwood-special-in-lime-gree/">Jaguar officially announces XKR Goodwood Special... in lime green</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 30 Jun 2009 18:58:00 EST. <div align="center"><br /></div>
The love of motorsports starts at a young age for many racing fans, and countless enthusiasts owe their obsession to Hanna-Barbera's classic <em>Wacky Races</em> cartoons. The 60's-era animated series featured all manner of characters competing wheel to cartoon wheel in the most hilarious automotive concoctions ever rendered on celluloid. But what has remained for decades as the objects of childhood fantasy actually exist in real life and have taken to the streets of Chichester in West Sussex, England, ahead of their annual, real-life racing at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, held this year on July 3-5. Eleven vehicles in all have been painstakingly crafted for the event by the people at Goodwood - check 'em out in the gallery below along with some extra shots of them being run at last year's event. We've also got a video for you of their run last year <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/08/hanna-barberas-wacky-racers-take-to-the-street-ahead-of-goodwoo/">after the jump</a>.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/">Wacky Races in West Sussex</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/wacky-races-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/wacky-races-6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/wackyraces-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/wackyraces-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/wacky-races-in-west-sussex/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/wackyraces-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/06/wacky-race-cartoon-cars-come-to-life-in.html">CarScoop</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/08/hanna-barberas-wacky-racers-take-to-the-street-ahead-of-goodwoo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hanna-Barbera's Wacky Racers take to the street ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/08/hanna-barberas-wacky-racers-take-to-the-street-ahead-of-goodwoo/">Hanna-Barbera's Wacky Racers take to the street ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 08 Jun 2009 20:29:00 EST. </small> <br />The Earl of March has announced that the theme of the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) will be "True Grit - Epic Feats of Endurance." Think monumental drive and determination from motor racing legends like Jackie Stewart, who won the 1968 German Grand Prix with a broken wrist. That sort of thing. The Festival will take place July 3-5 and hopefully we'll be there to cover it for all of you. The 1.16-mile hillclimb is always a delight, with some of the most famous drivers in motorsports history driving the cars (and bikes) that made them household names. <br /><br />The 2009 FoS will also celebrate 100 years of Bugatti, Audi and Morgan, 60 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Motorcycle World Championship, 50 years of Mini and the Daytona Speedway, and the 40th anniversary of Jackie Stewart and Matra's dominant pairing. Like last year, festival attendees will also get to see another edition of the Cartier 'Style et Luxe' mini concours d'elegance, the BP Ultimate FoS-TECH technology pavilion, the Forest Rally Stage and the Junior Festival of Speed. We can't wait.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/">'08 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The highlights</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Alfa Romeo 8Cs" title="Alfa Romeo 8Cs" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Morgan Lifecar" title="Morgan Lifecar" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Parajet Skycar" title="Parajet Skycar" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Toyota iSwing" title="Toyota iSwing" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Vintage Dragster Display on Cricket Pitch" title="Vintage Dragster Display on Cricket Pitch" /></a></div><br /><strong><em><small>All photos copyright (C)2008 <a href="http://www.frank4cars.fotki.com/">Frank Filipponio</a>/Weblogs, Inc.</small></em><small><br /></small></strong><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/11/2009-goodwood-festival-of-speed-theme-true-grit-epic-feats-o/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed theme: 'True Grit - Epic Feats of Endurance'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/11/2009-goodwood-festival-of-speed-theme-true-grit-epic-feats-o/">2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed theme: 'True Grit - Epic Feats of Endurance'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 11 Dec 2008 16:59:00 EST. While we would have liked to have posted a gallery or two a day from the event, internet issues kept us from sharing anything else after firing off our initial couple of posts. To make up for it we have a few massive galleries of goodness from Goodwood planned. We start today with some highlights, but will try to show some of the special categories individually too in later posts. After all, it isn't really a race in the strictest sense of the word and the pics will keep you just as entertained now as if they come next week. So hopefully you'll appreciate what we have to offer and if it isn't your thing, feel free to move onto something else you like better.<br /><br />For those who want to stick around you can expect to see coverage of everything from the Cartier Style et Luxe concours to the Airbus A380 flyover. We'll also include some shots of the people and sights from around the grounds of Lord March's estate. Although the racing is what brings people here, it is truly the ambiance that keeps them coming back year after year. The photos are captioned as much as possible for your convenience, but look for supercars, celebrity drivers, vintage racers, classic cars, movie cars, wild track action and much more. We hope you enjoy our expanded coverage of the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed as much as we enjoyed being there and sharing it with you.<br /><br /><strong>All images copyright (C) 2008 Frank Filipponio/Weblogs, Inc.<br /></strong><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/">'08 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The highlights</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Alfa Romeo 8Cs" title="Alfa Romeo 8Cs" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Morgan Lifecar" title="Morgan Lifecar" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Parajet Skycar" title="Parajet Skycar" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Toyota iSwing" title="Toyota iSwing" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/08goodwoodfos-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Vintage Dragster Display on Cricket Pitch" title="Vintage Dragster Display on Cricket Pitch" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/14/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-highlights/">'08 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The highlights</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 14 Jul 2008 13:02:00 EST. <p>Less than two months after <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/20/spy-shots-jaguar-xf-r/">Jaguar XF-R spy shots</a> (followed by a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/21/spy-shots-ii-jaguar-xf-r/">second set</a>) emerged, our man on the ground at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/09/jaguar-to-celebrate-60-years-of-xk-at-goodwood/">Goodwood Festival of Speed</a> spotted the real thing doing double-time in front of the crowd. He was quick enough to snap five good shots of the fast cat at speed. Power is speculated to be in the 500 hp range, courtesy of a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Riding on performance rubber wrapped around 20-inch wheels, the sleek sedan will be sure to sink claws into its German rivals when it rolls into showrooms next year.</p>

Although we were reduced to using a point-and-shoot, we thought you still might like to see some of the cars and sights at this year's Festival of Speed. Lord March puts on a fantastic event and the night before the whole thing starts the members get to attend a special dinner where the Bonhams auction offerings are open for viewing and the Central Display for this year's festivities gets unveiled.<br /><br />As this is a big anniversary for Land Rover, they were chosen as the featured marque. The display featured five special silver Land Rovers climbing a giant steel girder jungle gym of sorts. After seeing some of the cars in the auction tent and having a wonderful supper, the fireworks and unveiling were almost too much, but there was more. Among the many featured categories this year are some vintage dragsters from the '50s and '60s that still run in a special historic series. As a treat to the members, a few of them were fired up so the Brits could experience the sight, sound, feel, taste and smell of these Hemi-powered slingshots. With so few Americans in attendance, it was nice to see these racers being given such honored treatment. It truly brought tears to our eyes. Actually that was the nitro-methane. <p>The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/07/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-welcome-to-goodwood/">Goodwood Festival of Speed</a> is claimed to be "... the world's biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motor sport and car culture." Held on the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England, the event was founded in 1933 and has grown over the years to include a hill climb race, rally stage, design competition, technology showcase, and air show (this year's show will feature a fly-over by the Airbus A380). To celebrate 60 years of the XK, Jaguar will be bringing more than a few special cars to Goodwood this week. They include the XKR-S (the fastest ever production XK), XK 140, XK 120 'Montlh&eacute;ry' Fixed Head Coupe, D-type "Long Nose," and the XK 120 "NUB 120" (shown above). All will be accompanied by Jaguar's Le Mans winning XJR-9. This is an annual event you don't want to miss. Don't lose sleep if you can't be there in person this year... we've got someone on the ground covering everything beginning Friday. <br /></p><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/09/jaguar-to-celebrate-60-years-of-xk-at-goodwood/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Jaguar to celebrate 60 years of XK at Goodwood</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/09/jaguar-to-celebrate-60-years-of-xk-at-goodwood/">Jaguar to celebrate 60 years of XK at Goodwood</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 09 Jul 2008 18:58:00 EST. Just like last year, we hope to provide you with massive galleries chock full of high res pics of everything from the motorbikes to the rally cars, from the concours to the F1 action, from the special displays to the air show. As an overview of the event and of our coverage, we've posted a few essential lists after the jump. We understand that most of you can't attend, but for those going to Goodwood House on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the event schedule is below the break. There's also a list of the highlights expected at this year's event, which has adopted the theme: 'Hawthorn to Hamilton - Britain's Love Affair with World Motor Sport.'<br /><br />Picking highlights from an event like this is really a chore. The whole event is a highlight, with so many of the greatest vehicles from automotive history assembling in such a scenic location and being driven by some of the most legendary names from motorsports lore. And finally, Goodwood is all about special anniversaries, so there is also a list of some of the milestones being commemorated this year in West Sussex. For all of the other details about tickets, camping at the manor, directions and the like, visit <a href="http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content/festivalofspeed/Faqs.aspx#opening_hours">the official Goodwood site</a>. <br /><br />As for the focus of the show -- the cars -- we're especially looking forward to seeing the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AudiR8V12TDi/">Audi R8 V12 TDi</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AstonMartinV12VantageRS/">Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ArtegaGT/">Artega GT</a>, and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/MazdaFurai/">Mazda Furai</a> run; the flyover by the Airbus 380; the anniversary collections of cars from McLaren, Cosworth, Lola, and Porsche; the Gulf liveried cars; the Bond cars; the collection of dragsters that will be started twice a day on the Cricket Pitch; and of course the modern F1 cars. We hope you can make it down to Goodwood this year, but if you can't, we you know you're a click away when our coverage begins Friday.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.goodwood.co.uk">Goodwood</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/07/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-welcome-to-goodwood/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>'08 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Welcome to Goodwood</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/07/08-goodwood-festival-of-speed-welcome-to-goodwood/">'08 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Welcome to Goodwood</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Jul 2008 16:01:00 EST. Our hope was to help you experience the event for yourself, in case you missed it. While there have been tons of posts and pics along the way, we barely scratched the surface of what a visitor can see and do while at the FoS. It's one of the greatest automotive events we've ever attended. Part concours, part auction, part motor show, and part hillclimb, it's like taking the Monterey week and squishing it onto one estate. We've really had a great time and would like to thank everybody who made it possible. You know who you are. We have had the opportunity to see some of our favorite cars, old and new, gathered together for us, and in many cases, driven like they were intended. Cars from the earliest days of motoring all the way up to our modern F1 cars, and just about everything in between. This will serve as our final wrapup post on Goodwood. Attached is a huge gallery of the random sightings and so-far-unmentioned vehicles that made the week so special.<br /><br />In the gallery you'll see wheel-standing drag racers, rally cars, Wacky Racers, and Pike's Peak hillclimb cars. There's also a sampling of some of the cars that ran up the hill at night for the VIP ball. You'll also see a bunch of display vehicles and new cars that we don't usually see in the States. There's a few shots of people dealing with the torrential rain, including one family who finally waved the surrender flag and packed it in. Also, a couple of shots of the vehicles as they looked leaving the car park and a few shots of London in general. It's been a magical week of cars and stars, of sights and sounds, with a certain charm and elegance we haven't experienced before. A real dream come true. Hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Other stuff</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodother---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodother---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodother---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodother---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodother---13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/27/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-other-stuff/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Other Stuff</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 27 Jun 2007 15:33:00 EST. This time we're posting images of the various open-wheel racers that haven't been seen elsewhere in our galleries. Think Indy, vintage sports car, A1GP, and the like. A lot of highlights in this group: The 1933 Napier-Railton that was driven by Rowan Atkinson on Sunday, the "Blitzen Benz" that sounded like a biplane, Arie Luyendyk driving Emerson Fittipaldi's 1990 Penske-Ilmor PC-19, Sir Jackie Stewart driving the 1966 Lola-Ford T90 he drove in the 1967 Indy 500, and Al Unser, Sr. right next to him in a similar car. The most bizarre car in the group had to be the 1960 Milliken MX1 Camber Car. Driven by its 90-something designer and namesake, William Milliken, it really wowed the crowd with its 45-degree splayed motorcycle wheels. We swore it had already been pranged in the paddock when we first saw it emerge onto the track. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Open-wheel racers</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodopenwheel---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodopenwheel---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodopenwheel---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodopenwheel---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodopenwheel---13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/27/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-open-wheel-racers/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Open-wheel racers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 27 Jun 2007 13:05:00 EST. European sports car racing is way more popular. At Goodwood we got a chance to see some great examples of race teams and manufacturers who, over the years, have taken some of their best sports cars and fiddled with them enough to take them racing. OK, in some cases these were definitely not the company's finest vehicles, but for one reason or another they were converted to race duty and were none the worse off for it.<br /><br />The cars that were displayed or run at Goodwood represented a very eclectic mix of this theory. We saw everything from Sir Stirling Moss driving a Mercedes SLR (complete with scorch marks where the abbreviated exhaust pipes spit on the body) to Lyn St. James behind the wheel of the land speed T-Bird, from Richard Petty's IROC Camaro to a Ferrari 250 GTO. The list was staggering and included the resurrected Jaguar XJ13, last week's GT1-winning Aston Martin DBR9 and the older DBR2, Jaguar low-drag coupe and D-Types, Priaulx's 320Si, McLaren F1, Ferrari F40 LM, Daytona Comp, and 512 BBLM, and the Koenigsegg CCGT. Huge gallery, just click one of the pics.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Sports cars</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsportscars---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsportscars---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsportscars---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsportscars---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsportscars---13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><br />All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/26/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-sports-cars/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Sports cars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 26 Jun 2007 20:07:00 EST. One of the numerous highlights for us was undoubtedly the Formula 1 cars; from those outrageous beasts of the '30s and '40s, through the mid-engine revolution, and on up to the technically-packed computers on wheels we have today. Friday and Saturday they had a relatively dry track to play with, and most of them seemed to be taking advantage of the conditions. Sunday's rains meant it was a bit trickier to put together a quick time, but it provided a chance for many drivers to just put on a good show for the fans.<br /><br />And the drivers themselves were a <em>big</em> part of the show. From Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Sir Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill, and Emerson Fittipaldi, to Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Anthony Davidson, it was a pretty impressive list. And sometimes the pairings were just magical, as when Damon Hill found himself behind the wheel of one of his father Graham's old single-seaters. As cool as it was to see the older legends in action, the real thrill comes from having so many current drivers and cars on hand.<br /><br />Davidson drove the 1987 Williams-Honda FW11B that Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet won the championship with. Ferrari had cars from 1960, '68, '93, '98, 2000 and 2006. Honda brought their latest car, the Earth-decorated RA107, in which Christien Klien took on the driving duties until Jenson Button showed up. McLaren-Mercedes, Red Bull, Toyota, and Williams-Toyota all brought out '06 or '07 cars as well. Because the competition was getting a little beyond the safety measures at the event, these cars weren't timed, but drivers like Coulthard and Hamilton really showed what the cars could do. Long burnouts while waving seemed to warm the hearts of the soaked crowd. Some drivers stayed for autographs, but with a race next week and all that rain still coming down, it was understandable that most could only be there for a short time. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/">Goodwood Festival of Speed: Formula One</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodf1---30_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodf1---46_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodf1---31_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodf1---5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodf1---34_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/25/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-formula-one/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Formula One</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 20:09:00 EST. It was called FoS-TECH, and inside we found some of the best show cars from the last few of years. The Toyota FT-HS, Peugeot's 908RC, H2O, and Quark, the Saab Aero X, the Nissan Pivo, the Tesla Roadster, the Citroen C-Airplay, Mazda's Hakaze, and the BMW Hydrogen 7 were placed throughout the hall. And unlike most motor shows, you could actually get up close and personal with them if you wanted to. <br /><br />It didn't even dawn on us until later, but what we had stepped into was actually a green car exhibit. Our brothers over at AB Green actually did a whole writeup of these cars and a few others that were also there. Besides the displayed cars, we were pretty impressed by the E85-fueled Concept Climax that ran up the hill with the supercars. But our favorite was probably the BMW hydrogen-powered, side-by-side ItalDesign Guigiaro Vadho -- cockpit on the left, engine on the right. Very nice. You can get all of the details about these cars by clicking <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/2007/06/22/goodwoods-festival-of-speed-might-as-well-be-called-the-festiva/">here</a>. Sometimes we are at events that focus on cars, but other vehicles are invited to play as well, and we tend to like those other vehicles as much as we love our cars. At Goodwood, you can find some of the most amazing cars from throughout history on display and racing up the hill. You can also find helicopters, boats, Quads, jets, and a bunch of other non-car vehicles. <br /><br />Those, however, are not running up the hill alongside the Goodwood House. But Motorcycles are. Quite a few as a matter of fact, from ancient to sci-fi. From leather belt driven Singers to swing-arm, no-fork Vyrus like the one Tom Cruise allegedly bought recently. The damp track kept most of the cycles from posting any serious times, but that didn't stop the riders from putting on a great show. Burnouts, donuts, whole-straight wheelies, and one rider even used his time on the hill to perform a personal stunt show. Chris Pfeiffer amazed everyone with his bike and body control all weekend. Particularly impressive were his dismounts. Whether off to the side or over the bars, he'd flip off the bike and just manage to get the stand out so the bike stayed standing. And he even landed upright most of the time. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Motorbikes</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodmotorbikes---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodmotorbikes---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodmotorbikes---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodmotorbikes---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodmotorbikes---13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/25/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-motorbikes/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Motorbikes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 15:04:00 EST. A group of the vehicles was arranged on the cricket pitch, including several from Bonneville Speed Weeks past. There was the 1960 Challenger 1 (4 engines, 400+ mph), The Blue Flame, which managed better than 630 mph in 1970, a Ford Coupe, some MGs, the 1949 SoCal belly-tank car (198 mph), and even the newest -- the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/dieselmax/">JCB DieselMax</a> that we have written about fairly extensively in the past year or so. There were many others as well, but none could top Babs. <br /><br />With its huge 27-liter Liberty engine, it set a record of 170 mph in 1926 before crashing the next year. The driver didn't survive and the car itself was buried in a hole in the beach for a number of years. It was finally dug up in 1969 and restored. And Babs was here this weekend, all 20-something feet of her. The best part of that story is that Babs was fired up, to the appreciation of the crowd, and run up the hill all weekend. Oversteering in the rain and everything. It was an absolutely amazing vehicle amidst so many other great stories here at Goodwood.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Land Speed Record cars</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodlsrcars---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodlsrcars---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodlsrcars---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodlsrcars---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodlsrcars---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/25/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-land-speed-record-cars/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Land Speed Record cars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 14:02:00 EST. It was quite a novel idea for an automaker to build vehicles exclusively for royalty and heads of state, and though It's been 80 years since Bugatti introduced the Type 41 Royale, the cars look as stunning as ever. Altogether, six Royales were built. Five of them were at Goodwood this weekend. At first, they thought it was only going to be four (<em>only</em> four?), but the Henry Ford Museum came through and brought over the fifth one at the last minute. All of the cars are unique, but one stands out in particular<em>. It's a stunning cream-colored two-door cab with coachwork by Weinberger. Very beautiful. <br /><br />Two of the other four Royales had to have special leave granted by the French authorities. They are normally on permanent display at the Mus&eacute;e National de l'Auto (Collection Schlumpf) in Mulhouse, France. The fourth Royale came directly from Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., and the last, the Kellner Coup&eacute;, was on loan from its owner. That's $60 million worth of cars gathered under one tent. Big and powerful (they have huge 300 hp, 12,763 cc engines), $60 million is a heck of a lot of money for five cars, but they seem so worth it in person. Not to sound greedy or anything, but it's a shame the American owner of the last Royale couldn't be persuaded to put his on display as well. Seeing one is rare, two is almost impossible, but five is simply unimaginable. Only the full roster of six could have topped it.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Bugatti Royales</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodroyales---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodroyales---10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodroyales---11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodroyales---12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodroyales---13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. </strong></em></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/25/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-bugatti-royales/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Bugatti Royales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 12:04:00 EST. Several soon-to-be-released models or Euro-only offerings were in the supercar paddock, and most would later be seen making the run up the hill. Even the rain didn't seem to discourage them. A veritable who's who of the mega-exotics has made the run up the hill so far -- Caparo, Bugatti Veyron, Aston DBS, Lotus 2-Eleven, GB Roadster, SLR roadster, the one-off Ferrari 612 P4/5 (above), the Giugiaro Mustang, Audi R8, Lambo Superleggera, Roush 600 RE, Maserati Gran Turismo, Invicta S1, Marcos, Morgan, a Ferrari 599 and the 612 Police car, the Tesla Roadster, a Mosler, and many more. Around the grounds you can find additional cars that are on display only, like a couple of Zondas, a Koenigsegg, a Carrera GT, an F40, the Peugeot 908 RC concept, a Diablo GT, the SLK 63 AMG Black Series, an Alfa 8C, KTM's X-Bow, and others. Supercars are just about everywhere you go here at Goodwood. Click through for tons of high-res photos of some of them on display or in action.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The Supercars</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodgtr---4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/goodwoodsupercars---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><em><strong>All photos (C) 2007 Frank Filipponio / Weblogs, Inc. <br /></strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/23/2007-goodwood-festival-of-speed-the-supercars/">2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The Supercars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:25:00 EST.
