Stop lurking around your local Ferrari retailer, as the first F12 Berlinetta set to arrive on North American soil won't be sold through traditional channels. Instead, the Italian automaker will auction off its all-new flagship in Texas next weekend in an effort to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. According to Ferrari, proceeds from the special event will be donated directly to the American Red Cross (the money will be earmarked specifically to support the relief efforts).

The special Ferrari will be painted in Rosso Berlinetta with choice of black or cuoio (read: camel) upholstery. Special options will be available (e.g., the buyer may ask for its hood to be signed by F1 drivers) and the coupe will be delivered with an official letter recognizing its status as the first in North America. As an added benefit, the new owner may attend the Ferrari Corso Pilota driving course at a location of their choice (Fiorano, Italy or Mont-Tremblant, Canada).

Those looking to get in on the action should contact their local Ferrari dealership to bid in person, absentee or over the telephone. For those who can't swing the $300,000-plus price tag, Ferrari has also set up a special Ferrari-American Red Cross contribution page.
Ferrari auctioning first F12 Berlinetta in North America for Sandy relief originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 09 Nov 2012 18:29:00 EST.
Picture your dream garage, and we have a sneaking suspicion that a fair few of the vehicles contained therein would be Ferrari supercars. But which ones? An F40? The F50 roadster that followed? Would you skip the Enzo and go right to its track-focused cousins, the FXX and the Maserati MC12? Benny Caiola had all of these and then some, but now his collection's going up on the auction block.

The enviable stable of the late enthusiast and noted collector included an F40, F50, FXX Evoluzione (the even more advanced version of the Enzo-based customer prototype), an MC12, 333 SP (the last Le Mans Prototype Ferrari ever made), both a 430 Scuderia and an F430 Challenge racer, a 599 GTB Fiorano with the HGTE package and a '73 Dino, plus a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and a McLaren Mercedes SLR Roadster thrown in for good measure.

This lustworthy collection is all on the docket for Gooding & Company's auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, for January 21-22. Most of the New York real estate mogul's vehicles are estimated in the six-figure range, but several of them - notably the three V12 track monsters - are anticipated to fetch north of the million-dollar mark. Follow the jump for the full details in the press release and don't forget to click through the 52-image high-resolution mega gallery below for a closer look at each of the supercars on the roster.
And here's another to add to the docket: Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo's own 599 GTB Fiorano.

The chairman's ride is being auctioned off online to raise scholarship funds for young aspiring researchers. The example in question features a deep red Rosso Monza metallic paintjob over an interior swathed in charcoal leather and trimmed with extra carbon fiber bits. It's also been outfitted with sat-nav and an iPod as well as carbon-ceramic brakes behind 20-inch wheels. This marks the first occasion that Ferrari has auctioned off one of its vehicles online, and will come accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the current owner, who carries a bit of clout around the factory. Follow the link for more information, including a video of Montezemolo presenting the auction, or to place your bid. Either way, it's a lucrative method of cleaning out the Ferrari garage.

The auctions end July 26, so you still have time to call your accountant to see what you can afford.
Ferrari store auctions off more bits and pieces originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 17 Jul 2007 10:55:00 EST.
