And here's another to add to the docket: Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo's own 599 GTB Fiorano.<br /><br />The chairman's ride is being auctioned off online to raise scholarship funds for young aspiring researchers. The example in question features a deep red Rosso Monza metallic paintjob over an interior swathed in charcoal leather and trimmed with extra carbon fiber bits. It's also been outfitted with sat-nav and an iPod as well as carbon-ceramic brakes behind 20-inch wheels. This marks the first occasion that Ferrari has auctioned off one of its vehicles online, and will come accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the current owner, who carries a bit of clout around the factory. Follow <a href="http://www.ferrari.com/English/News/Ferrari-Research/Pages/Ferrari-Research.aspx">the link</a> for more information, including a video of Montezemolo presenting the auction, or to place your bid. Thanks for the tip, Patrick!<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/">Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/599gtb_hi_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/599gtb_hi_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/599gtb_hi_12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/599gtb_hi_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/599gtb_hi_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.ferrari.com/English/News/Ferrari-Research/Pages/Ferrari-Research.aspx">Ferrari</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/18/ferrari-auctions-off-montezemolo-owns-599-gtb-fiorano/">Ferrari auctions off Montezemolo own's 599 GTB Fiorano</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 18 Jun 2009 10:32:00 EST. Ferrari describes it as one of no more than 15 parts carved from a solid block of hardened steel. Bidding currently stands at &euro;700, or about $964.<br /><br />For the bargain shopper, a <a href="https://www.ferraristore.com/e-shop.des/page,auction.flypage_bid/product_id,Take-off-gear-from-Ferrari-F1-91-of-1991_12832/auction_id,8/">take-off gear</a> (pictured at right) from Ferrari's F1-91 is available with a current bid of only &euro;300, or about $413. <br /><br />These are either very limited mementos of Ferrari's Formula 1 domination, or very limited, very expensive paperweights. Either way, it's a lucrative method of cleaning out the Ferrari garage.<br /><br />The auctions end July 26, so you still have time to call your accountant to see what you can afford.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/17/ferrari-store-auctions-off-more-bits-and-pieces/">Ferrari store auctions off more bits and pieces</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 17 Jul 2007 10:55:00 EST.
