In a rare automotive example of life imitating art imitating life, the Nissan Skyline that Paul Walker drove in the latest <em>Fast &amp; Furious</em> movie was stolen from its storage facility in Los Angeles.<br /><br />Although dressed up to look like a full-on R34 GT-R for the movie, the car underneath was actually a lower-spec GT-S. Reports indicate that thieves, evidently knowing the car was inside, broke through a metal door and ripped off that specific car, leaving the rest but sideswiping a Studebaker and a Porsche Boxster on the way out. And to make matters worse, the car, valued at around $75,000, wasn't even insured. Considering the movie<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/06/vin-number-fast-and-furious-shatters-records-with-72-5m-opening/"> grossed $72.5 million</a> in opening-weekend box office sales alone, we doubt the seventy-five grand will be terribly missed.<br /><br />[Sources: <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5252387/car-thief-swipes-fast-and-furious-r34-nissan-gt+r">Jalopnik</a> and <a href="http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=148010">Inside Line</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/17/i-fast-and-furious-i-skyline-stolen-from-hollywood-garage/"><i>Fast &amp; Furious</i> Skyline stolen from Hollywood garage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 17 May 2009 13:44:00 EST. <br />Amazing what a huge opening weekend at the box office can do. After debuting with a record-breaking <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/06/vin-number-fast-and-furious-shatters-records-with-72-5m-opening/">$72.5 million haul</a> in its first few days, the fourth installment,<em> Fast &amp; Furious</em> tapered off a bit last week at $28 million, but that hasn't slowed the franchise one little bit. <br /><br />In an interview on Friday with Los Angeles radio station 104.3MYfm, star Paul Walker said that a fifth installment is practically a sure thing now: "This was supposed to be it - but without question, Vin and I will be coming back, we're making the fifth one and we're going to Brazil." We hate to say we told you so, but... well, we did. <br /><br />Based on the results of our previous poll, we're guessing that most of you will be up for another go assuming the trailers and buzz show it to be at least as good as the current film. But what do you think? Is a fifth installment with some Brazilian flair worth doing? Will you see it if they make it? Take our poll after the jump and let us know.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30172616/">MSNBC</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/15/fast-and-furious-franchise-framers-feeling-fine-for-fifth-film-w/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fast &amp; Furious franchise framers feeling fine for fifth film? It works by translating the onscreen action into motion code, which is then used to control chairs equipped with actuators that can pinch, roll, heave, and vibrate the seat in sync with whatever's being watched. For those of you wondering if the upcoming <em>Fast &amp; Furious </em>could get any better (we use that term loosely), you'll be thrilled to hear it's the first major release to use D-Box technology.<br /><br />The hitch: you'll have to go to the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood or the UltraStar Surprise Pointe 14 in Surprise, Arizona to experience it. Those theaters are being equipped with the special seats needed to put you into the action. Just, please, during the movie, don't hold an air steering wheel and insist that people call you Dom Toretto...<br /><br />[Source: D-Box]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/14/shakeup-fast-and-furious-to-be-first-major-movie-release-with-d-b/">Shakeup: Fast &amp; Furious to be first major movie release with D-Box</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 14 Mar 2009 14:04:00 EST. <br />Universal has just released the second theatrical trailer for what is sure to be an Oscar shoe-in next year: <a href="http://www.fastandfuriousmovie.net/">Fast &amp; the Furious 4</a>. Yes, it's the return of Dom Toretto and Brian O'Connor, a.k.a. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, to the roles that made them famous. The new trailer <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/14/video-new-fast-and-furious-4-trailer-reveals-more-err-plot/">after the jump</a> shows a nice romp through L.A. as O'Connor chases down a token bald and inked Latino man who must have done something really bad. We're then whooshed to the Mexican desert, where the combined forces of Diesel and Walker are required to... drive cars for some sort of larger purpose to which we're not yet privy. Sign us up! <br /><br />Seriously, though, the first F&amp;F was fun, the second cruel and unusual punishment and the third an interesting way to extend the franchise and make more money. The fourth will be epic, mark our words. We've already ordered tickets on Fandango. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/14/video-new-fast-and-furious-4-trailer-reveals-more-err-plot/">Follow the jump</a> to watch the new teaser for yourself so you can agree with us out loud. We've also added new high-res stills from the film in the gallery below just for all you Jordana Brewster fans.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/">Fast and Furious 4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/image001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/image005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/image006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/image003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fast-and-furious-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/ff4_stills.0029_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hly01Qqqskw">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/14/video-new-fast-and-furious-4-trailer-reveals-more-err-plot/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: New Fast &amp; Furious 4 trailer reveals more... err... plot?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/14/video-new-fast-and-furious-4-trailer-reveals-more-err-plot/">VIDEO: New Fast &amp; Furious 4 trailer reveals more... err... plot?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 14 Jan 2009 17:57:00 EST. <br />Even though our lust for Japan's forbidden fruit has been sated by three generations of the Subaru STI and Mitsubishi EVO - and now, the Nissan GT-R - one guilty pleasure is still out of reach. The Subaru Forester STI has always held a special place in our hearts, combining a healthy dose of practicality with a dash of rally-bred performance, and that's carried over to the Forester XTI concept. Packing the WRX STI's turbocharged 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder putting out 315 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, a cat-back exhaust, reworked suspension, STI wheels and a deep red/black paint job, the Forester XTI is begging to go into production. Here's hoping Subaru wises up and gives it the green light.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/1140231/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/13_subie_sema_three_210op.jpg" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/1140220/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/19_subie_sema_three_210op.jpg" alt="" /></a><br /><br />Joining the Forester on the show stand is a five-door 2009 WRX tweaked by Subaru Performance Tuning (left) with a cat-back exhaust, short-throw shifter, OZ Botticelli III 19-inch wheels, a lower chassis brace and strut tower brace. The 2.5-liter four has gotten a 10-hp boost in output (from 265 to 275 hp) and an additional seven lb-ft of torque, and sitting beside that guy is the STI that's making its big screen debut in the next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/">SEMA 2008: Subaru Forester XTI, SPT WRX, 4F4F STI</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/01_subie_sema_three_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/02_subie_sema_three_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/03_subie_sema_three_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/04_subie_sema_three_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-subaru-forester-xti-spt-wrx-4f4f-sti/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/05_subie_sema_three_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/05/sema-2008-subaru-trots-out-forester-xti-concept-and-tweaked-wrx/">SEMA 2008: Subaru trots out Forester XTI concept and tweaked WRX</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 05 Nov 2008 16:58:00 EST. Despite that, fans will still have to wait until next summer to get their fill of Dom's return. However, that hasn't stopped the franchise from soaking up attention and generating some initial buzz a year early. The lead <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/07/fast-and-furious-four-paul-walkers-sti-is-on-its-way/">2008 Subaru WRX</a>, driven by one Paul Walker, has been making the rounds at automotive events recently. We first spotted it staked out front of the SpoCom show in Long Beach, CA back in June. Now it has turned up at a Motor Press Guild meeting in Los Angeles, CA. Thanks to reader Chad, we also have photos for proof. Surprising enough, the vehicle is not outrageously modified. It features Enkei NT03 wheels painted to resemble the Volk Time Attack series, Veilside seats, a harness bar, Cobb Tuning ECU flash tune, as well as a Veilside body kit that is subtle in comparison to their usual flair.<br /><br />The WRX is just a sampling of what the next Fast and Furious film will have to offer, too. The story takes place somewhere between the second and third film of the series. As mentioned, it also features the resurgence of Vin Diesel, so we know some American-made rides will flex their muscle. In fact, the Buick Grand National is one that will get its due on the silver screen in FF4. Even though there is an utter lack of GN photos, be sure and check out the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/">FF4 Subaru WRX</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2736042223_c8d773a7f9_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2736876278_16ce113215_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2736876298_006cf34754_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2736876314_b21576e386_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ff4-subaru-wrx/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2736876338_e1de55e24f_o(2)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/36873164@N00/sets/72157606561391628/">Chad Gallion</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/07/flickr-find-fnf4-subaru-wrx-sti/">Flickr Find: FNF4 Subaru WRX STI</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 07 Aug 2008 12:30:00 EST. The Honda, owned by Ben from Bespoke Ventures and being used as an automotive extra in <em>The Fast and Furious 4</em>, sustained a fair amount of damage to the bumper, right fender and headlamp. There's no word on when Universal is going to be settling its tab for the damages done by Mr. D, but Ben has already got a "<a href="http://www.cafepress.com/therealjdm">Vin Diesel Broke My Car</a>" t-shirt for sale, which should ease the financial burden. That, along with the "<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/29/nissan-gt-r-ownersmanual-warns-of-messing-with-perfection/">Don't tune your GT-R</a>" tee, should complete your summer fashion collection.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog/?p=419">TheRealJDM</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/03/vin-diesel-damages-s2000-on-set-of-fandf4/">Vin Diesel damages S2000 on set of F&amp;F4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 03 Apr 2008 18:27:00 EST. <p>How long does it take to build a show car worthy of being in the upcoming <em>Fast and Furious 4</em> movie? Well, if the fourth installment is anything like the first sequel, <em>2 Fast 2 Furious</em>, we'd say about ten minutes with a paint gun ought to do it. Hopefully the new FF film will be the best, however, since the original duo of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/04/vin-diesel-and-paul-walker-faster-and-more-furious-than-ever-be/">Walker and Diesel are both back</a>. A car for this movie, then, takes about six hours according to <a href="http://www.stangpede.com/">Stangpede</a>, a San Diego-based Mustang club. Less than a dozen members from the club turned a stock Mustang into a full-blown show car in front of a live audience at the 2008 San Diego Auto Show. The transformation took just over six hours and included the addition of a Saleen 550-hp supercharger system, custom interior with racing seats, a glassback roof from Classic Design Concepts, and a retro body kit finished in Candy Apple Red paint. You can view details of the build in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mustang-movie-car-build/">photo gallery below</a>.</p>
