	eBay Find of the Day: 1972 Datsun 240Z resto-mod - Click above for high-res image gallery</div>
<br />
The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/datsun+240z">Datsun 240Z</a> is a pantheon vehicle. By that we mean it belongs on many a car enthusiasts' all-time great vehicle lists. If you're in the market, there are plenty of options on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ebay">eBay</a> that will help you put one in your driveway. One Datsun in particular has caught our eye due to the quality of its execution. How much would it cost to own the beautiful S30 shown above? If you wanted to Buy It Now, you'd better have $85,000 burning a hole in your pocket.<br />
<br />
That's right, we said $85,000, and that figure is <a href="http://bringatrailer.com/2010/10/16/blue-chip-1972-datsun-240z/" target="_blank">reduced from an ambitious previous asking price of $125,000</a>. What could cause someone to think their Z is worth that much? A complete frame-off restoration and <a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/03/240zbuildsheet-01.jpg" target="_blank">a parts list</a> that makes us think the owner is capable of <em>Inception</em>, since it reads like something from our modified car dreams.<br />
<br />
Under the hood sits a SR20DET, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine taken from a 2002 Nissan Silvia. The suspension and brakes have been upgraded with Arizona Z car and Wilwood components. Basically, anything that could've been upgraded has been taken care of.<br />
<br />
Still, you'd be hard-pressed to find a 240Z buyer looking to plunk down that many Benjamins for a car. There's no doubt that leading Japanese classics are climbing in price, and this car might be snatched up quickly at half the asking price. <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Worlds-Finest-Datsun-240Z-/290549073822?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&amp;hash=item43a613079e#ht_16373wt_1161" target="_blank">Head over to eBay Motors for the full listing</a>. <em>Thanks for the tip, Sid!</em><br />

<br />
In honor of <a href="http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tomica/index.htm">Tomica's</a> <a href="http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tomica/40th/main.htm">40th anniversary</a>, jeweler Ginza Tanaka has produced a one-of-a-kind replica of the toymaker's <a href="http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tomica/history/tomica/1970/index.htm">die-cast 1970 Nissan Fairlady Z432</a> (the Z432 was a Japan-only model powered by the same S20 inline-6 used in the C10 Skyline GT-R). Unlike anything Tomica sells to the public, "toy" is made of platinum - including its exquisitely-detailed box. If it were to be made available for purchase (it isn't), it's estimated worth is around $80,000. <a href="http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2010/03/09/still-cheaper-than-the-real-thing-platinum-tomica-nissan-fairlady-z432/">Japanese Nostalgic Car</a> jokes in its headline that even at that price, it's still less than what one would pay for a <em>real</em> Z432, given their <a href="http://www.zhome.com/History/432Z.htm">rarity</a> and desirability (a total of 420 cars were produced between 1969 and 1973). As for this platinum bauble? It's being publicly shown at the Hong Kong International Jewelery Show this month, after which it heads back to Japan for next month's Osaka Tomica Fair. <br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a gallery of the Branew 2009 Nissan 370Z</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Nissan sportscars - the Z included - are a popular base for tuners, so it should come as no surprise that, with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/30/complete-2009-nissan-370z-pricing-revealed-plus-a-new-tagline/">newly revised 370Z</a> just revealed, the JDM aftermarket is already lining up with their range of extras. Next up to bat is Branew, the Japanese tuner whose <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-branew-nissan-gt-r-wearing-23-inch-wheels/">GT-R we spotted at SEMA</a> wearing giant 23-inch rims.<br /><br />The Branew 370Z offers a remapped ECU, tightened suspension and upgraded brakes, as well as an aero package complete with front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and wing. A variety of wheel options in various unreasonable sizes are also expected to be offered when Branew unveils the full package in January at the Tokyo Auto Salon. In the meantime, you can check out the pair of images in the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/branew-nissan-370z">Branew Nissan 370Z</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/branew-nissan-370z/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/branew-nissan-370z-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/branew-nissan-370z/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/branew-nissan-370z-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/12/branew-introduces-new-performance.html">CarScoop</a> via WCF]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/31/branew-to-unveil-tuner-kit-for-new-nissan-370z/">Branew to unveil tuner kit for new Nissan 370Z</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 31 Dec 2008 08:27:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for slightly larger version</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />It appears that the current <a href="http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/complete/z_s-tunegt/top.html">NISMO Fairlady Z S-Tune GT</a> might have a replacement waiting in the wings when the new Z car (370Z here in North America) arrives on scene. The photo above is now making the rounds on the web, and at the very least, it indicates that NISMO will probably have accessories (like the body kit shown) ready to go for the Fairlady Z's JDM launch. <br /><br />The current Fairlady Z S-Tune complete car is equipped with all manner of NISMO goodies (underhood, suspension, brakes, interior, exterior -- the works), and you can pretty much write it down that they'll do something similar with the new ride as well. It's more a matter of when than if. Anyway, we expect to hear much more in the days to come, since the 370Z's official unveiling in L.A. is just around the corner. <em>Thanks to Chuck for the tip!</em><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://370ztech.com/2008/10">370Z Tech</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/31/first-look-at-new-nismo-370z/">First look at new NISMO 370Z?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 31 Oct 2008 10:01:00 EST. But let's not trifle with the cost of ownership yet. As its name implies, the 380RS is a tried-and-true racecar, with a stroked version of the VQ35HR V6. The 3.8-liter mill is producing 350 hp and 321 lb.-ft. of torque, which it sends to a Nismo Super Coppermix clutch and on through to a close-ratio, six-speed gearbox and mechanical LSD. The body meets Super Taikyu regulations, in which it was designed to compete, and comes equipped with new aerodynamic enhancements, a roll cage, six-pot Brembos and the required catalytic converter. Inside, it's all business, with carbon fiber door panels, a Recaro throne, six-point harness and a fire extinguisher. With that out of the way, the price is a cool 28,350,000 yen, or just over $285k USD. Well-funded, privateer teams need only apply.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition">2008 Nissan Fairlady Z 380RS-Competition</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/380rsc_img02_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/380rsc_img03_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/380rsc_img04_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/380rsc_img05_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-nissan-fairlady-z-380rs-competition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/380rsc_img06_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.nismo.co.jp/news_list/2008/news_flash/080002.html">Nismo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/28/gentlemen-grab-your-check-books-2008-fairlady-z-380rs-competit/">Gentlemen, grab your check books: 2008 Fairlady Z 380RS-Competition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 28 Mar 2008 16:58:00 EST. The Fairlady Z, as it's called in its home market, receives a restyled hood with a power dome that evokes the look of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133845/">the original Z</a>. <br /><br />Under said dome resides the latest version of Nissan's "VQ" engine -- the 3.5L VQ35HR, which is now good for somewhere around 308 horsepower (it's rated at 313 PS). Beyond that, the car sees the introduction of some new paint colors, larger head restraints, optional Active Head Restraints, and a grey convertible top and interior trim. <br /><br />The new Z is joined by the hot-looking, sport-tuned Fairlady Z NISMO (above), which was co-developed with Autech, Nissan's customization arm. The NISMO Z's structure is reinforced to provide added rigidity and rides on sticky Bridgestone rubber and Yamaha Performance Dampers. The snarl it emits comes courtesy of a larger-diameter sport exhaust. It's wrapped in a full NISMO body kit and features a host of exclusive interior accessories as well. <br /><br />Finally, Autech will produce a Lifecare Vehicle (LV) model of the Z for drivers with leg disabilities. Autech actually does this to many other Nissan models as well, but to us, it's significant that they address the enthusiast with special needs as well. Nicely done. <br /><br />We'd love to see that NISMO version here, but something tells us the closest we'll get is the next edition of <span style="font-style: italic;">Gran Turismo</span> for the Playstation 3. For more information on the refreshed Z car in general, follow the jump for Nissan's press release.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133848/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/new_fairladyz_lr_003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133867/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/new_fairladyz_lr_022_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133878/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/new_fairladyz_lr_033_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133851/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/new_fairladyz_lr_006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-fairlady-z/133851/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/new_fairladyz_lr_020_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><br /><br />[Source: Nissan Japan]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/12/enhanced-driving-pleasure-japan-gets-new-fairlady-z/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Enhanced Driving Pleasure: Japan gets new Fairlady Z</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/12/enhanced-driving-pleasure-japan-gets-new-fairlady-z/">Enhanced Driving Pleasure: Japan gets new Fairlady Z</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 12 Jan 2007 08:07:00 EST.
