<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-f70-rendering/#photo-5261899"><img alt="Ferrari F70 Rendering" class="right border" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/09/02-ferrari-f70-rendering-250.jpg" style="margin-top: 4px; margin-bottom: 4px; width: 250px; height: 167px; float: right; " /></a>There are many reasons to get excited about the future of supercars right now. Between the development of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/acura/nsx">Acura NSX</a>, the next-generation <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/nissan/gtr">Nissan GT-R</a>, the long line of lusty <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/lamborghini">Lamborghini</a> concepts and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/mclaren">McLaren</a> tinkerings, we may very well be on the doorstep of a golden age of exotic engineering. But few of those offerings send us licking our chops quite so quickly as the successor of the legendary <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ferrari enzo">Ferrari Enzo</a> throne. Christened the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/f70/">F70</a> internally, the machine reportedly boasts a hybrid drivetrain brawny enough to bolt the Italian menace to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds.<br />
<br />
Odds are there's a healthy V12 mounted midship, and if the whispers we hear happen to be true, the F70 will be able to saunter up to a top speed of 250 mph. Our spy photo friends have produced a pair of renderings for us based on their own surreptitiously snapped images that help cut through the awful body cladding we've seen <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/06/13/ferrari-enzo-successors-homely-visage-spotted-again/">attached to the test cars</a> frolicking about Europe at the moment.<br />
<br />
If the production car looks even remotely as attractive as these sketches, the world is about to become a much sexier place. With lots of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/ferrari/458">458</a> in the front and hints of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ferrari f40">F40</a> in that engine cover, there's plenty to get excited about here. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/geneva motor show">2013 Geneva Motor Show</a> before we see the real deal.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/05/this-is-what-the-ferrari-f70-might-really-look-like/">This is what the Ferrari F70 might really look like</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 05 Sep 2012 15:53:00 EST.
