<br />Formula 1 is wicked fast, yet in super slow motion at 1500 fps, it can be almost as fun to watch. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/amazing-1-500-fps-video-from-german-gp/">After the jump</a> are two videos that are definitely worth your time. The first video shows the massive amounts of stress exerted on the F1 cars as they barrel around corners. At 1500 fps, they almost look as if they could come apart at any moment. <br /><br />The second video demonstrates the importance of technique on the circuit. The video is an overlayed comparison of the third sector approaches of Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton during the Friday practice session at the German Grand Prix. Vettel was faster than Hamilton through the first two sectors, but Hamilton passed him with a textbook brake and acceleration at the third chicane. Good stuff. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/12/amazing-1-500-fps-video-from-german-gp/">Follow the jump</a> for your viewing pleasure. <span style="font-style: italic;">Thanks to AC for providing us the original video after we inadvertently overwhelmed the servers at Axis of Oversteer!</span> <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://axisofoversteer.blogspot.com/2009/07/super-slo-mo-and-hamiltons-secret.html">Axis of Oversteer</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/12/amazing-1-500-fps-video-from-german-gp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Amazing 1,500 fps video from the German Grand Prix</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/12/amazing-1-500-fps-video-from-german-gp/">Amazing 1,500 fps video from the German Grand Prix</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 12 Jul 2009 16:21:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>Click above to watch the video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/13/video-red-bull-racing-gives-a-virtual-tour-of-2009-f1-cars/">after the jump</a></small></span><br /></div>
<br />Formula One racing has implemented sweeping changes to its vehicles for the 2009 racing season. All cars will drive on slick tires, front and rear wing specifications have changed dramatically, and noses have grown. Changes have taken place in the powertrain department as well, with each car only receiving eight engines for the year, and all powerplants will be limited to 18,000 rpm. <br /><br />These are but a few of the changes, and going into more detail can get a bit boring. Luckily, Red Bull Racing created a bang-up virtual tour of all of the changes in F1 for 2009. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/video-red-bull-racing-gives-a-virtual-tour-of-2009-f1-cars/">Hit the jump</a> to view the video. Not only is the animation fantastic, but the short rundown is also extremely informative. As an added bonus, the video also expertly explains how a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/30/video-shocking-see-f1-mechanic-getting-zapped-by-kers-system/">Kinetic Energy Recovery System</a> can give drivers six seconds of burst per lap. Good stuff.<br /><br />[Source: Red Bull Racing]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/13/video-red-bull-racing-gives-a-virtual-tour-of-2009-f1-cars/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Red Bull Racing gives a virtual tour of 2009 F1 rulebook</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/13/video-red-bull-racing-gives-a-virtual-tour-of-2009-f1-cars/">VIDEO: Red Bull Racing gives a virtual tour of 2009 F1 rulebook</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 13 Feb 2009 15:58:00 EST.
