<br />
The rich have all the fun, don't they? With your bank account, you get, what, free checks? Overdraft protection? A toaster maybe?<br />
<br />
If you had a cool million sitting around, just taking up space, you could get yourself a free <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes-Benz</a>. Not just a base <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/c-class/">C-Class</a> either.<br />
<br />
Open a five-year CD of at least $1 million at <a href="http://www.c1bank.com/">C1 Bank</a> (formerly Community Bank) and you'll have your choice of a 2012 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/slk-class/">SLK350 Roadster</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/e-class/">E350 Sedan</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/m-class/">ML350</a> or an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/e-class+cabriolet/">E350 Cabriolet</a>. And, as a further bonus, your new car will come with tags, title, license and taxes all paid.<br />
<br />
Small print? Oh, you betcha. First, you're limited to two vehicles per household. Second, unlike most CDs, at the end of its five-year life, you will cash out for exactly what you put in. Basically, you're letting the bank hang on to your $1 million for five years in return for that $60k-ish Mercedes you're driving. Instead of 1.2-percent APR you would normally collect at the end of the CD's life, you're getting a car up front.<br />
<br />
Pull your money out early, and you'll get back what you put in, minus the cost of the car and a $3,000 early withdrawal fee.<br />
<br />
Still, if you can spare a million for five years, and were about to buy a Mercedes anyway, it could be a good deal.<br />
<br />
For details (and more small print) check out the press release by <a href="/2012/05/01/florida-bank-offers-free-benz-with-new-1m-account/#continued">scrolling below</a>.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/01/florida-bank-offers-free-benz-with-new-1m-account/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Florida bank offers free Benz with new $1M account</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/01/florida-bank-offers-free-benz-with-new-1m-account/">Florida bank offers free Benz with new $1M account</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 01 May 2012 14:32:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/black+series">Black Series</a>? Who needs one when you've got <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/brabus">Brabus</a>? Try this on for size: 0-62 in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 231 mph. In a four-seat <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/e+class+cabriolet">E-Class convertible</a>.<br />
<br />
So, how did the German tuning house manage to convert a boulevard cruiser into a certified bruiser? Well, for starters, they took the V12 from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/s-class">Mercedes-Benz S600</a>, gave it a whole mess of new moving parts and breathing gear, quad intercoolers, bored it out from 5.5 liters to 6.3 and dropped it into the E-Cab's engine bay.<br />
<br />
The result is 800 metric horsepower (788 by US standards) to make this the most powerful and the fastest four-seat convertible on the market. Of course it's a rather lofty market, at &euro;478,000 ($680k), but with all that power and attention to detail to go with it, can you really be surprised? Not as surprised as the owner of that Black Series AMG will be when you and three of your best friends go ripping by in the left lane. Check it out in the high-res image gallery and the post-jump press release.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/07/10/brabus-800-e-v12-cabriolet-out-blacks-amgs-black-series/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet out-blacks AMG's Black Series</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/07/10/brabus-800-e-v12-cabriolet-out-blacks-amgs-black-series/">Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet out-blacks AMG's Black Series</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 10 Jul 2011 20:02:00 EST. <br />
Convertibles have long been something of an acquired taste. Devotees steadfastly defend the unique sensation of elemental motoring that can only come when plugged in to one's surrounding breezes, noises and smells. Conversely, detractors have traditionally lambasted droptops for their lackluster foul weather performance, added weight, vulnerability, and creaky, ill-handling platforms. And while the naysayers may have had a point in the era of tonneau-covered British roadster pilots with their tepid heaters, dubious structural rigidity and leaky, masochistic roof mechanisms, modern topless numbers like this 2011 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/e-class">Mercedes-Benz E-Class</a> Cabriolet give lie to the idea that convertibles make lousy year-round companions.<br />
<br />
Follow the jump to find out why.<br />

Our friend Mike Levine from <a href="http://www.pickuptrucks.com/index.html">Pickuptrucks.com</a> joins Chris, Sam and Dan for Episode #157 of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/podcasts/">The Autoblog Podcast</a>, bringing his vast knowledge of all that is crew-cabbed and full framed. Of course, we start off with what we're driving and dreamy talk about the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/11/video-2010-dodge-ram-power-wagon-gets-dirty-with-pickuptrucks-c/">Dodge Ram Power Wagon</a>, but the real meat and potatoes news items begin with a peek at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/14/detroit-preview-2011-mercedes-benz-e-class-cabriolet/">Mercedes-Benz E-Class cabrio</a>. Staying with Ms. Jellinek's namesake brand, the crew ponders the idea of an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/14/report-mercedes-benz-begins-road-testing-electric-sls-supercar/">electric SLS supercar</a>. Staying charged, we move right into Toyota's recent hybrid news - a tease of an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/14/detroit-preview-toyota-to-debut-new-hybrid-concept-vehicle/">all new hybrid</a> that we'll see at the 2010 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/detroit-auto-show/">Detroit Auto Show</a>, and today's announcement of a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/14/toyota-officially-launches-plug-in-prius-program-retail-sales-i/">PHEV Prius</a>. Hybrid pickups come up before we move on to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/12/embargo-12-12-09-6pm-est-detroit-preview-bmw-to-unveil-faster/">BMW's Z4 sDrive35is</a> and then questions. One hour, thirty minutes, in time for your Tuesday pick-me-up. <br />

<br /> There are few people in this world for whom we hold more contempt than European bureaucrats. They're the pencil-pushers that, if they had their way, would put an end to some of our favorite exotic sportscars and have us all driving Smart ForTwos. But every gray cloud has its silver lining, and in the case of Belgium's bureaucracy, is the sneak peak we get from time to time when a carmaker files its designs to register them as trademarks.<br /> <br /> What we're looking at this time is the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class cabrio. Although there were rumors that the model could be delayed, by and large we knew this was coming, and have even seen plenty spy shots of test mules preparing for their market launch.<br /><br /> Replacing the outgoing CLK convertible, this new model is based on the slick new E-Class coupe but, you know...with a convertible roof. It's a fabric job, unlike its rivals from BMW, Lexus, Infiniti and Volvo, which have all gone with folding hard-tops by now. The mechanicals are otherwise expected to carry over from its fixed-roof counterpart, although the jury's still out on whether an AMG version will be on offer as well. For now, we'll just have to peruse these grainy black-and-white images until the new drop-top Benz drops in the first half of next year.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images">2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class convertible trademark filing images</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/8957963_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/6152410_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/5164206_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/3269860_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible-trademark-filing-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/10/1657779_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/10/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-convertible.html">CarScoop</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/15/spy-shots-2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-cabrio-leaks-out-courtesy/">Spy Shots: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cabrio leaks out courtesy EU bureaucracy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 15 Oct 2009 14:00:00 EST.
