You didn't actually think that Disney would sit back and watch while Formula One Management and Ferrari muscle in on its territory from all the way over in the Persian Gulf, did you? The entertainment giant and the undisputed king of theme parks is planning an automotive theme park of its own.
The plan involves dropping over a billion dollars to rejuvenate its failing California Adventure park, focusing around Disney animated movies, our favorite Cars among them. So while it may not be an entirely automotive-focused theme park, the revamped location will feature a section – a large one, we hope – based on the computer-animated blockbuster. Get your kicks on Route 66.
