<br />
We won't press it yet, but let's just say our hand is hovering over the big red "Vaporware!" button we keep armed for just such announcements. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/dimora/">DiMora Motorcars</a> still owes us - <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/07/25/lv-resorts-orders-fleet-of-2-million-super-sedans/">and LV Resorts</a> - the $2-million SLS 2 sedan with its 1,200-horsepower Volcano V16 engine, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/12/the-latest-from-dimora-supersedan-to-use-volcanic-rock-based-ba/">Barotex fibers</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/2m-dimora-natalia-sls-2-to-get-worlds-first-mp3-enabled-hor/">MP3-enabled horn</a>.<br />
<br />
While we wait for it, DiMora has seen fit to announce not just a new car, but a new division with two new cars said to be "nearing completion." The Neoclassic Automobiles Subsidiary will, depending on your credulity, be producing the Adina Sportster and Vicci 6.2 Super-Coupe. The Adina is a Morgan-like roadster powered by a General Motors LS3 V8 with 431 horsepower.<br />
<br />
The Vicci (pictured) gets either the LS3 or the Corvette ZR1's LS9 with 638 running through a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or - prepare to step in your Wayback Machine - a four-speed auto. Its faux Talbot-Lago lines hide a carbon fiber dash, paddle-shifters and a stereo that displays engine diagnostics. Assuming it gets made.<br />
<br />

<br />
You might say the American automotive industry is divided into two groups: The Big Three, and the rest. That latter category might include up-and-comers like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/tesla">Tesla</a>, niche manufacturers like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ssc">SSC</a>, as well as super-modifiers like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/hennessey">Hennessey</a> and wannabes like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/dimora">DiMora</a>. Those last two are hoping to break out obscurity with high-end offerings of their own, and have teamed up along the way to make it happen.<br />
<br />
After decades of tuning Vipers and 'Vettes, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/29/hennessey-venom-gt-a-600k-mid-engine-cobra-for-the-21st-centur/">Hennessey</a> recently debuted the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/VenomGT/">Venom GT</a>, a of Lotus on 'roids with a supercharged Corvette LS9 V8 mounted amidship. It can be ordered, starting at around $600,00, with 725, 1,000 or even 1,200 horsepower. Sounds exactly right for the Middle East, doesn't it?<br />
<br />
To that effect, Hennessey has signed DiMora - the effort behind the vaporware Natalia SLS super-sedan - to sell the Venom GT in the Middle East and in India, two burgeoning markets for rich toys like this one.<br />

<br />We like big butts, but we cannot lie - there is a limit a to our love. And the vehicle above has crossed over said limit, knocking a few things over with its ghetto booty while it was at it. Right about now, you should be scratching your head (or other parts) and wondering what the heck it is you're looking at, so we'll tell you. It's a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora modified into a sort of coupe-pickup-thing, to be specific. Strictly speaking, behind the driver and passenger it's all trunk, but while we don't generally geek over pickup-car conversions like some other sites on the net (who shall remain nameless), we wonder what the point is here. <br /><br />The Scattare (Italian for "jump", as in "jump out of the way") is the unfortunate work of DiMora Designs, a division of same company that's been working on the DiMora Motors <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/26/dimora-natalia-sls-2-spec-list-shapes-up-for-the-2-million-car/">Natalia SLS 2</a>, a luxury sedan with little more than its $2 million target price tag to show for itself thus far. And while we appreciate the creativity and the apparent craftsmanship on display with the Scattare, please understand if it doesn't exactly fill us with hope for dear Natalia. <br /><br />DiMora Designs recently began work on modifying another Olds Aurora, this one from 1996. Project Manager Jim Willis says he doesn't plan to change it much, just little tweaks like converting this front-engine car into a mid-engine car. Yikes! Stay tuned - but in the meantime, click on the thumbnails below to jump to the gallery... and don't say we didn't warn you.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare">DiMora Scattare</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/scattare4529-900_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/scattare4586-900_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/scattare4625-900_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/scattare4635-900_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-scattare/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/scattare4644-900_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.dimoramotorcar.com/scattare.html">DiMora</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/09/nauseamino-dimora-scattare-gives-the-oldsmobile-aurora-more-jun/">DiMora Scattare gives the Olds Aurora some junk in its trunk, makes us fear the $2M version</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Mar 2009 11:29:00 EST. Alfred DiMora is back, adding more splashy aftermarket items to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/12/the-latest-from-dimora-supersedan-to-use-volcanic-rock-based-ba/">list of standard equipment</a> on his Natalia <strike>vaporware</strike> sport luxury sedan. DiMora Motorcar has decided that the <a href="http://www.horntones.com">Horntones</a> system will be factory-fitted to every V16 Natalia SLS 2 produced. So far, that's none. This isn't the first time the Natalia has <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/26/dimora-natalia-sls-2-spec-list-shapes-up-for-the-2-million-car/">specified an item cherrypicked from SEMA awards</a>, and we suspect it won't be the last.<br /><br />The Horntones system has 256MB of flash memory that can be loaded up with MP3 files. Once your files are in the Horntones system, there's a 150-watt speaker to delight everyone within a quarter mile by blaring your audio with a 110dB sound pressure level. DiMora contends that the Horntones rig is the most significant development in car horns in the last 100 years. We disagree - after all, the Dukes of Hazzard General Lee had that bitchin' setup that played Dixie. <br /><br />Perhaps the biggest news here is that there's a new rendering, this time, a rear three-quarter view. <span style="font-style: italic;">Press release after the jump. </span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2">DiMora Motorcar Natalia SLS 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/natalia_rear_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/natbody1180_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/natbody1190_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/natbody1200_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-motorcar-natalia-sls-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/12/natbody1220_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.prweb.com/releases/2009/02/prweb1957264.htm">DiMora Motorcars</a>]<br /><br /><br /><strong><br /></strong><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/2m-dimora-natalia-sls-2-to-get-worlds-first-mp3-enabled-hor/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>$2M DiMora Natalia SLS 2 to get -<i> wait for it</i> - world's first MP3-enabled horn</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/2m-dimora-natalia-sls-2-to-get-worlds-first-mp3-enabled-hor/">$2M DiMora Natalia SLS 2 to get -<i> wait for it</i> - world's first MP3-enabled horn</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 06 Feb 2009 19:28:00 EST. <p>Of all the bits of vaporware out there that never seem to get any closer to reality, the DiMora has to be one of our favorites. The sheer ambition of it all involves independently developing and producing a $2 million super-sedan that would, we're sure, make the likes of Bugatti and Maybach seem downright ordinary. But first it would have to actually get built, and all we've seen to date are computer images and announcements on component and technical partnerships.</p>
<p>The latest to join the immaterial <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/26/dimora-natalia-sls-2-spec-list-shapes-up-for-the-2-million-car/">spec sheet of the fictitious DiMora Natalia SLS 2</a> (don't ask what happened to the SLS 1) is Barotex. The Californian company is developing a new material, similar to carbon fiber, but made out of volcanic rock. Complementing the Volcano V16 engine that would power the Natalia were it ever to be built, Barotex offers lightweight yet extremely rigid and flame-retardant construction. As for which seems more fantastic - the DiMora itself or the lava-based fiber that would form its body and frame - we'll leave that up to you. Press release after the jump.</p>

Done up the old-world way -- with real metal and skill -- and the results for all that effort are decidedly weird. They can call it a coupe all they want, but its certainly more El Camino than sleek GT. The JX moniker is a little strange too, as the Chrysler Concorde that this car began life as was an LH model. The JX is the designation for the Sebring convertible from '96-00.<br /><br />No matter, this metallic tangerine wonder has had old school bodywork techniques applied to make it a landaulet-looking contraption. The car was built as a movie car, though Dimora is cagey about where we might ultimately see the JX's film debut. The write up at the Dimora website is filled with hyperbolic nuggets. Our favorite gem is this one, regarding the fitting of a 3.2-liter V6: <em>"We replaced the stock engine with a 260 HP 3.2 liter V6 from ATK, which is backed by a three-year unlimited mileage warranty. We added a "Tornado" vortex component to the air intake. MPG was increased 10% and horsepower grew by 10%. We have not had a dyno test on the engine</em>..." Uhh, <strong>what?!</strong> We're not sure how you can measure a 10% horsepower increase (from an intake restriction, no less) without, you know, measuring it. Ah well, at least the rest of the world continues to have vehicular reasons to ridicule us. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe">Dimora JX Coupe</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/jxcoupe-fac-01-750_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/jxcoupe-fac-03-750_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/jxcoupe-fac-02-750_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/jxcoupe-fac-05-750_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/dimora-jx-coupe/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/jxcoupe-fac-16-750_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://dimoramotorcar.com/about-content.html?ID=187">Dimora</a> via Jalopnik]<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/24/why-the-world-rips-on-us-dimoras-jx-coupe-concept/">Why the world rips on us: Dimora's JX Coupe Concept</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 24 Mar 2007 18:08:00 EST.
