Conan wants to give you a VW Beetle Convertible

But you're going to have to work for it. As part of the "Occupy Conan" competition, Conan O'Brien is giving us all the chance to recreate some of the show's skits as we see fit. All you have to do is head over to the Conan site and select which clips you want to put your own spin on. Download the clips as well as the full script, nab yourself a camera and some friends and get cracking. Entrants must stick to the script, and your Conan must have orange hair and a tie. Your Andy will also need blonde hair and a tie, just for the sake of consistency.

Why does consistency count? Because once all the entrants are in, Conan will stitch them all together to create a best-of show. The very best clip will win its creator a brand-new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, though there are other swank prizes to be had, including Team CoCo gear. Conan drives Grave Digger monster truck

While Conan O'Brien may not be the car guy that Jay Leno is, for our money, he's funnier. Especially when he's doing vehicular bits on air, in this case, rubbing elbows with monster truck drivers.

But Coco doesn't just play the redneck card and point and laugh. He actually suits up in full Nomex and drives one of the most famous monster trucks of all time, Grave Digger. While Conan's performance behind the wheel is pretty tame by Monster Jam standards, he sure seems like he's having fun and it translates into some laugh-out-loud comedy.

No matter how you might feel about the sport of crushing derelict vehicles, we're pretty sure there's some little part of everyone that would like to get behind the wheel of one of these awesome trucks and unleash 1,500 horses of destruction at least once in their life.

Andy Richter on cross-country Chevy Sonic odyssey for Conan show

Andy Richter is piloting a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic from Burbank, California to New York City as part of a stunt for Conan O'Brien's self-titled late night talk show. It's officially been one year since Team Coco found a home on TBS, and to celebrate, the entire Conan crew is packing up for a special performance at the Beacon Theater in the Big Apple. While the rest of the crew is turning to the miracle of commercial flight for the trip east - including O'Brien himself - Richter is saddling up in the newest compact from Chevrolet for a three-day road trip across the continent.

Hilarity is bound to ensue. The Team Coco site has been configured to allow viewers to follow along with Richter's big Sonic adventure, and the comedian will also be tweeting along the way to keep everyone abreast of his progress. Keep an eye out for tweets with the hashtag #orangebullet. In the meantime, hit the jump to see O'Brien sending Richter off yourself.

Your late-night TV preference says a lot about your taste in autos

These days, there are some serious battle lines drawn around which late-night host you prefer. With the embattled Conan O'Brien taking to the airwaves for the first time since being ousted from NBC, we can all but guarantee another outpouring of down-with-Leno sentiment. But who are the rank and file that make up the heart of each suit's fan base? Who is it exactly that watches Letterman, and how do they differ from Stewart's army of fans?

The crew from USA Today set out to discover the answers to those questions by commissioning a poll with Penn Schoen Berland. What did they find? Conan O'Brien fans are likely to be between 18 and 34 years old, drive Volkswagens and be single atheists. Seriously.

Meanwhile, Jay Leno is favored by folks who are 45 years old and up, religious and listen to country music. Their chariot of choice tends to be something of the domestic flavor - especially Pontiac and Chevrolet hardware.

One of Leno's harshest critics, David Letterman, picks up views from people between the ages of 25 and 44 years-old who are likely divorced democrats. Interestingly enough, Letterman's crew rolls on a beige tide of Toyotas.

Finally, the study took a look at Jon Stewart's fan base and found that the comedian garners views from 35-54 year-old married Catholics. Team Stewart tends to favor a GMC truck for getting around town.

Conan O'Brien is getting ready to launch his new late-night talk show. "Conan" premieres November 8th at 11pm on TBS. He wants to show everyone just how bad-ass this new television show will be. Ditching his beloved 1992 Ford Taurus SHO, O'Brien jumps behind the wheel of a '69 Dodge Dart that is pointed straight at a cliff. He ups the stunt-ante by packing the car with C4 explosives, fireworks from New Hampshire (which technically are not illegal if you fire them off in the Granite state) and un-popped popcorn kernels.

Having the Dart loaded with stuff that explodes and ceremoniously removing his stunt man from the equation, Conan nails the accelerator towards the cliff then Thelma and Louises it over the edge. The result is a loud, explosion-filled wreck that O'Brien walks away from while putting out his flaming hair and leather jacket. It's epic.

If you thought Jay Leno was the only late-night talk show host who was into cars, think again. Sure, Jay's got the garage full of priceless automobiles and regularly contributes to Octane magazine, but Letterman is part owner of an Indy racing team, and Conan's had his share of four-wheeled shenanigans.

If the Bugatti Veyron mouse shtick wasn't enough to convince you, have a look at the video after the jump. On a segment of the CBS news program 60 Minutes, Conan takes his interviewer around Los Angeles in a dirt-green 1992 Ford Taurus SHO. Check it out; it's worth a laugh of two.

Chrysler and General Motors have been on the receiving end of more than a few skits by late show comedians recently, and new Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien took his latest shot at the Pentastar's tie-up with Fiat. O'Brien's latest gag is a mock Fiat-created Chrysler commercial for the Jeep Liberty.

The spot itself features a voice-over of a man with a thick Italian accent talking about how great the Liberty is on- or off-road, or even just driving in a circle. Hit the jump to view the video for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Jacob!

The Ford Taurus SHO rocks, and Conan agrees

I have an unhealthy obsession with the Ford Taurus SHO, the Super High Output version of Ford's workhorse family sedan, the last example of which was built not even two days ago after being in production for over 20 years. It's an unhealthy obsession because, quite frankly, the Taurus is not a vehicle worthy of anyone's obsession. But obsess I do, mostly over the SHO's 3.0-liter V6 developed by Yamaha, but also because the SHO was a killer car back in the day, especially the first generation. In the late 80s, the SHO could stand grille to grille with a BMW M3 for about half the price.

I've been mocked plenty of times on account of my affection for the Taurus SHO, but today I learned that I'm not alone. None other than late night host Conan O'Brien considers himself a SHO lover like myself, and this YouTube clip proves it. Mr. O'Brien owns a second-generation 1992 Ford Taurus SHO in Emerald Green (that's even my favorite Taurus color!) and is rather proud of that fact as the video shows.

Pay particular attention to the Ferrari guy he gets to sit shotgun in the SHO. His revulsion is more apparent than the surface rust for which the Taurus is famous. Sigh... they'll never understand us, Conan.
