The modern Bentley Boy finally has something fitting to wear underneath his scarf and ulster: the fragrance in the Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition or the Bentley for Men and Bentley for Men Intense scents. French crystal house Lalique designed a limited edition flacon shaped like the Flying B company mascot that contains an eau de parfum created by the French perfume house Robertet. That fragrance is "fine woody notes and exquisite leather" enhanced by orris butter. Only 999 flacons will be made, going on sale in April for 3,000 pounds (3,500 euro, $4,572 US) for a 40-ml bottle.

The other two options were created by French perfume house Firmenich. They also start with "fine wood and leather notes," with Bentley for Men getting an addition of cedar and patchouli, the Intense version throwing in African geranium to "take these notes to another level."

If that won't be enough to fulfill your lust for vehicular aroma, the full line also includes after shave balm and hair and body shampoo. When they go on sale in April at select retailers, prices will start at 24 pounds (27 euro, $36 US) for the shampoo and top out at 69.50 pounds (87 euro, $106 US) for the Intense eau de parfum. You can read more about them in the press release below.
Continue reading What's that smell? Allow us to introduce you the newest fragrance from Avon: Turn 4XT. The new cologne is being promoted by none other than NASCAR wonder Carl Edwards, and Avon says that the scent is packed full of manly traits like strength, determination, dedication and real bits of panther.

Fine, that last part's not true.

If you know someone who's itching to smell like a winning NASCAR driver, you're in luck. Turn 4XT hits the shelves next month. Hit the jump for the full press release, but be warned: the term "exude" is used with maximum seriousness.

Even though he's long gone, Steve McQueen and his King of Cool attitude can be found all over the place. His name, likeness and films are licensed by numerous companies for the purpose of hawking everything from t-shirts, hoodies and watches up to full-size motorcycles and automobiles. The actor and accomplished racer can now add a new product to his long list of for-sale items - cologne.

If you've ever wanted to smell like one of the coolest guys to walk the Earth, you can do so as of September 20, 2010, when the new Steve McQueen cologne becomes available online.

The cost of smelling "cool" (which is, apparently, a top note of fresh green fruit, a hearty section of cardamom, sage and cinnamon and a base woody cedar tone) is hardly cheap; the listed price is €190, or almost $250 US. That's before taxes and shipping, too. But hey, it comes in a limited-edition gift box

If you really want to smell like McQueen, your best bet is to find a Porsche 917 and spend a few hours behind the wheel until you reek of awesome. Wait - that's too expensive as well. Truth is, no one will ever be like Steve McQueen, regardless of what they spray on themselves.

According to one of the YouTube commenters for the STR8 Challenger cologne commercial embedded after the jump, it was made for Polish television. Which , of course, makes perfect sense, since the whole thing's in English. Regardless, the ad features Captain Generic Macho driving a Chevy Camaro, which gradually transforms into a giant <strike>robot</strike> tsunami of cologne that deposits him into the arms of Random Desert Babe. Frankly, "STR8 Challenger" sounds a lot more more like a certain Mopar than some quasi pheromone for European dudes. Check out the video after the jump to see how you too can have it "STR8 My Way." Or, at least, smell like you do. Or something. Hat tip to our man in Poland, Rafal!

We've all seen people stepping out of exquisite sports cars dressed like total slobs, and the whole image thing just goes up in a cloud of smoke. Porsche Design seems to have made it its mission to complete the package, and to that end has released two new product lines.

Among the sportswear, luggage, appliances, power tools, mega yachts and everything else the German automaker's Austrian merchandising studio has come up with recently, Porsche Design released its signature fragrance line - called "The Essence" - about a year and a half ago, and has now followed up with a new take its calling "The Essence Intense." Not quite bottling that "new car smell," Porsche Design says Intense packs notes of myrtle, juniper and mandarin into a sleek bottle of frosted black glass and satin black brushed aluminum that goes a long way towards explaining the conspicuously strange shape of the new Panamera.

Of more interest to the enthusiast, however, might be Porsche Design's latest line of driving shoes. Positioned a little higher than the sneaks designed for Adidas, the latest collection of Porsche footwear is formal enough to wear to the office, and is designed for heel-and-toe work: The right sole is grooved for quick transition from gas to brake, while the left sole is designed to grip the clutch pedal.

Follow the jump for more information on both the new fragrance and the latest footwear collection, and check out the images in the galleries below.
On the other hand, the teams go through spare parts like a rib joint does napkins. Meanwhile, collectors and enthusiasts have proven willing to shell out big bucks for authentic memorabilia. Found the magic solution yet? Several F1 teams have, opting to sell off parts of last year's cars for big bucks. And the latest to join the fold is Toyota.

Now available for purchase from the Toyota F1 team's online merchandise shop is a wide variety of spare parts and bodywork at various price points, ranging from a 200-euro alloy wheel (around $280 USD), brake disc or suspension wishbone all the way up to a full engine cover bodywork assembly pictured above, complete with underfloor and rear wing aerodynamic elements, for 5,000 euros (nearly $7,100). If that seems pricey, consider that's just a fraction of what you'd have to shell out for parts from a race-winning Ferrari, for example. In sports memorabilia, pedigree is worth its weight in gold, but when you consider that Toyota is ahead of Ferrari in the standings this season, now may be the best time to get that F1 nose-cone up on your wall. Think of it as an investment.

[Source: Toyota F1 via Inside Line]
Carbon Offset: Toyota sells F1 spare parts originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 02 Jun 2009 09:29:00 EST.
Ford has finally begun production of the all-new 2009 Ford Fiesta in Cologne, Germany, today. After an investment of 455 million Euros (about $674 million) to restructure and modernize the plant, Ford is expecting its 4,000 employees will be able to roll out 148,000 Fiestas by the end of the year, which is an impressive 1,900 cars each day). In January 2009, the Valencia plant in Spain will also begin building the Fiesta. There are also production plants in China, Thailand, and Mexico that are tooling up for the newest small Ford in order to meet worldwide demand, which finally includes the U.S. where it will also be sold in both sedan and hatchback configurations around 2010. Based on the Verve concept, the new compact is exactly what the automaker needs in today's efficiency-conscious marketplace, and its stylish enough not to be considered a cheapskate or eco-geek while driving.

Mustang Blue, according to the manufacturer, is "the definition of confident, sexy and powerful for the Mustang man." A delicate blend of axle grease, brake fluid, and motor oil --- oh wait, sorry -- geranium, sage, artemisia, and a host of other olfactory stimulants combine to "celebrate the Mustang Man on a new journey."

Sam and I have Mustangs, and I'm fairly confident that neither of us knows exactly what the Mustang cologne people are talking about. Sam's is actually finished in Vista Blue, though, so maybe this is targeted more towards him. My personal favorite Mustang scent is Smoked Pirelli, but I suppose that has less broad consumer appeal than whiffs of sandalwood, hay and patchouli. Now that Mustang Cologne has spawned its first official variant, Shelby, Bullitt, and California Special edition scents can't be far off.

[Source: The Mustang Source]
Mustang Blue: The new smell of 'Stang originally appeared on Autoblog on Sun, 01 Jun 2008 12:07:00 EST.

The TF108 departs from last year's TF107 primarily in two areas. First, Toyota lengthened the wheelbase to improve vehicle stability. (Ferrari made a similar design move last year with the F2007, the car with which they secured both world championship titles, but the Scuderia shrank it down again for the new F2008.) Secondly, the TF108 benefits from what Toyota says is a significantly improved aerodynamic package, an area in which last year's car was severely lacking. The TF108 also has to conform to new regulations imposed on the entire series, including further structural safety measures and the standardized ECU. Although engine development has been frozen by the FIA, the RVX-08 engine is mated to a new 7-speed sequential geabox.

Panasonic Toyota Racing desperately needs to find success behind the wheel of the TF108 next season, after the revelation that the bean counters in Japan have given the team two more seasons to turn things around... or else. We'll be watching closely to see how Jarno Trulli, returning for another season with Toyota, and Timo Glock, fresh from his title in GP2, will perform in the 2008 Formula One World Championship.

Everyone, or so the fashionistas are banking on. Tonino Lamborghini and perfume company Coty (which, unfortunately, does not stand for "car of the year") have signed a licensing agreement to produce a Lamborghini cologne.

Well, more or less. Tonino Lamborghini is the company founded by its namesake, the son of Ferrucio Lamborghini who, prior to selling the company to Chrysler, served as its CEO. Today Tonino has his own line of luxury goods that stretches from clothing to furniture to cafes, and aside from its roots, similar name and logo, has little to do with the Audi-owned exotic carmaker.

While Automobili Lamborghini has just recently been getting on track with its merchandising efforts, Tonino Lamborghini has been reaping the brand's marketing potential. It was Tonino Lamborghini, not the automaker, that was responsible for the sleek coffee machine we brought you a few months back, and it is Tonino Lamborghini that will now give the Raging Bull a signature scent to join those of rival Ferrari and corporate cousin Bugatti. Let's just hope it smells better than fried brakes, burnt rubber and spent gasoline.

(Press release after the jump.)

Talk about badge engineering. Aramis and Designer Fragrances, a division of Estee Lauder, has partnered with Ford to "bring the Mustang man to life." How? With a cologne spray, of course.

The same fragrance design house that has created for Donna Karan, Missoni, and Coach, has "engineered" a scent that is -- wait for it -- "bold, daring, and legendary." This, apparently, accurately describes the average Mustang owner, as well. A few more attributes you must have to comfortably wear this cologne: you must be "strong," "confident," "driven," "with an innate masculinity that does not go unnoticed." And you're "a guy's guy, yet... both modern and authentic." With great cologne, comes great responsibility.

So now that you know what you're getting into, here is the breakdown: the bold is lavender, ginger, and lemon; the daring is pipe tobacco and cedarwood; and the legendary is amber, fir basalm, and patchouli. Doesn't exactly sound like the scent that Bullitt would have been reaching for, but what do we know? The exterior packaging is a graphite metal reusable collector's tin, and prices for the range of cologne and after shave will begin at $20. It launches in July. And if current Mustang trends hold, it will launch again a month later with red racing stripes.

The Bugatti Veyron costs $1,700,000. The Bugatti watch costs $200,000. It stands to reason, then, that the Bugatti perfume should cost nearly $5,000.

Some might scoff at the Volkswagen Group's capitalizing on the merchandizing of its super-mega, ultra-premium exotic marque, but while the Ferrari name and prancing horse logo can be found on any number of products at a wide range of prices (go ahead, try an eBay search), Bugatti's approach has been decidedly more reserved. In line with the car, of which only 300 are being made, and the timepiece, of which only 150 were made available, Bugatti is offering only 400 bottles of its limited edition perfume. The £2,395 Prestige Edition of the super-luxe scent comes in a crystal bottle encased in a 24-carat gold-plated sculpture, said to be inspired by the wing on the venerated Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic. If £2,395 is too rich for your blood, Bugatti is offering an additional 4,000 bottles of the, ahem, "Multiple Edition", presented in a chrome-plated bottle and selling for £1,550. Both editions are presented in a leather-lined case. And Harrod's department store in London is the only place to get it.

On the surface it looks like a routine, mundane management shuffle, with Toyota sending over an experienced manager to help get things moving with the Formula One team that's been a bit of a disappointment for the ever-growing industry giant. After all, Toyota's far more accustomed to runaway success than dismal failure.

By-and-large, this is, as we said, a management shuffle. Yamashina is already the head of both Toyota's Motorsports Division and Motorsport Business Management Department. So having him close to the action at the F1 base of operations makes perfect business sense.

What makes the move more interesting, however, is Yamashina's contribution to the development of Toyota's fuel cell technologies. F1 has very specific rules that currently would inhibit the introduction of alternative power on the starting grid. However, having someone like Yamashina near the helm of one of F1's most well-funded teams could lead to some interesting developments. We'll just have to wait and see.

Elizabeth Arden announced last week in Daytona Beach that the company would make a new fragrance called 'Daytona500.' The fragrance maker describes the scent as opening "with top notes of yuzu, bergamot and mandarin.Heart notes include tarragon, sage, maté and a watery accord, while the base comprises nutmeg, cardamom, amberand sandalwood." We're not exactly sure what all of that smells like, but if it isn't burning rubber and cheapbeer, well...

The packaging is interesting in and of itself -- the top is shaped like a wheel wrapped in a thin rubber tire.
