This new robotic technology could be a big help to assembly workers and offer more design freedom.
Lincoln has a scent. But unlike those from Mustang, Lamborghini or even Shark by Tara, you can't buy it and you have to visit a Lincoln dealership to inhale its notes of jasmine hedione, mate tea leaves and tonka beans. Essence of Lincoln - that's what it's called - is being piped through the ventilation systems at some showrooms to help "create an emotional connection between the luxury brand and its customers," and olfactorily promote the idea of "luxury and warmth." Where it's not run through
The modern Bentley Boy finally has something fitting to wear underneath his scarf and ulster: the fragrance in the Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition or the Bentley for Men and Bentley for Men Intense scents. French crystal house Lalique designed a limited edition flacon shaped like the Flying B company mascot that contains an eau de parfum created by the French perfume house Robertet. That fragrance is "fine woody notes and exquisite leather" enhanced by orris butter. Only 999 flacons will be
Racing and random sponsorships go together like corn dogs and beer, but even so, we're amazed by some of the partnerships that the marketing gurus of the world cook up. Allow us to introduce you the newest fragrance from Avon: Turn 4XT. The new cologne is being promoted by none other than NASCAR wonder Carl Edwards, and Avon says that the scent is packed full of manly traits like strength, determination, dedication and real bits of panther.
The U.S. will be getting Ford's small, all-electric Transit Connect Electric utility van by the end of this year. Over in Germany, ten units of the larger Transit van will be converted to run on electric power by Smith Electric Vehicles for Ford's colognE-mobil project, which is already underway.
Ford of Europe has its headquarters in the German city of Cologne (Köln), so an electric vehicle partnership between the city and the automaker doesn't come as a surprise. Ford of Germany, the city of Cologne, RheinEnergie AG, and the University of Duisburg-Essen have signed an agreement to deploy a fleet of 10 Ford Transit delivery vans for use in the inner city, where the zero-tailpipe emissions and reduced noise of the EV can be maximized. Ford is (obviously) supplying the vans and Rhei
Here's a little problem to solve: Although budgets are shrinking, it still costs million to run a Formula One team. On the other hand, the teams go through spare parts like a rib joint does napkins. Meanwhile, collectors and enthusiasts have proven willing to shell out big bucks for authentic memorabilia. Found the magic solution yet? Several F1 teams have, opting to sell off parts of last year's cars for big bucks. And the latest to join the fold is Toyota.
Ford is ready to start making money on small cars, and the production of Job One of the new global Fiesta marks what the company is calling a "new global small-car era for Ford." Having just spent a month in Europe and very much liking the various Kas and other small Fords running around there, this is good news to me, especially to see that the first new Fiesta rolled off the production line in Cologne, Germany today (see the gallery below). The Cologne Stamping and Assembly plant has been the
A year after the introduction of the original scent, Aramis and Designer Fragrances have unveiled a new Mustang cologne variant. Mustang Blue, according to the manufacturer, is "the definition of confident, sexy and powerful for the Mustang man." A delicate blend of axle grease, brake fluid, and motor oil --- oh wait, sorry -- geranium, sage, artemisia, and a host of other olfactory stimulants combine to "celebrate the Mustang Man on a new journey."
At the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany, running from October 8-12 this year, there will be a special section at the Innovation Centre which will showcase alternative drive two- and three-wheelers. The show will include vehicles that are already on the market, like the Vectrix scooter and electric E-Max scooter, and future vehicles, like a natural gas-powered Suzuki and hybrid Piaggio MP3, on display. Ford has announced that the company's plant in Cologne, Germany is going to use electricity that comes exclusively from renewable sources. The energy comes from three hydro-power plants in Norway and Sweden that are owned by Vannkraft AS (Norway) and Fortum AB (Sweden), respectively, and provided to Ford through Rhein Energie AG.
Three German cities - Berlin, Hannover and Cologne - instituted a ban on cars that don't have catalizers or DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters). A windshield sticker proving a vehicle's environmental status is now needed to drive into the cities, known as environmental zones. But, like Mos Def wondering why he needs ID to get ID, how can you get a sticker if you're outside and want to come in? The website Green Zones will provide, for either 30 or 40 Euros. The website is available in 13 languages
Starting on the first day of this new year, three German cities (Berlin, Hannover and Cologne, pictured) have applied a complete ban on all vehicles that have no catalysers or DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters) in the city centers. To enter, cars must have a windshied sticker stating the installation of such devices.
