<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Casey's 1994 BMW 530i wagon classified ad - Click above to watch video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/26/video-best-used-car-classified-ad-ever/#continued">after the jump</a></small></strong></em></div>
<br /> If this isn't the very best used car ad ever, it is certainly up there - definitely the most inspired we have seen in a very long time. <br /><br />Young Casey wants to move this 1994 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/bmw">BMW</a> 530i Touring, and he's using a bit of <a href="http://search.creativecommons.org/?q=Michael+Cera+IMDB&amp;sourceid=Mozilla-search">Michael Cera</a>esque geekiness to do it. He's totally honest about its 194,218 miles, leaky sunroof and broken cigarette lighter, as well as its Ultimate Power and Extreme Sound. Except for that rear seat speaker. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/26/video-best-used-car-classified-ad-ever/#continued">Follow the jump</a> for a beautiful dose of entertainment. We do one question for Casey, though: um, what's that sign in the trunk about? <em>Hat tip to Jon</em>!<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G6d1nOcElg">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/26/video-best-used-car-classified-ad-ever/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Best used car classified ad ever?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/26/video-best-used-car-classified-ad-ever/">Video: Best used car classified ad ever?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 26 Mar 2010 19:58:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of the ACTUAL 2003 Dodge Avenger Concept</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/1235723/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/00_avengerconcept_opt.jpg" /></a>There's nothing unusual about seeing a product in an advertisement that doesn't look anything like the real thing. Have you ever gotten a Big Mac that looks like the one in commercials? Classified ads for cars are no exception and are usually assembled by low paid copy editors using stock photos. <br /><br />One of our readers spotted this ad for WestBorn Chrysler in the <em>Detroit Auto Mart</em>. The ad for a 2008 Dodge Avenger features at least two major flaws. The pictured vehicle is a Dodge Avenger of sorts, but is actually the concept version that was unveiled at the 2003 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Detroit-Auto-Show/">Detroit Auto Show</a> (as seen on the right). The copy editor obviously just took the Chrysler press photo, removed the background and mirrored it without checking whether it was even a production car. Chrysler has also never built an Avenger that gets 36 miles per gallon! If they did, perhaps more customers would willing to overlook its interior. <em>Thanks to Jed for the tip!<br /><br /></em><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept">2003 Dodge Avenger Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/00_avengerconcept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/01_avengerconcept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/02_avengerconcept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/03_avengerconcept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2003-dodge-avenger-concept/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/04_avengerconcept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><em></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/19/classified-follies-reader-spots-dodge-concept-in-avenger-ad/">Classified Follies: Reader spots Dodge concept in Avenger ad</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 19 Dec 2008 12:01:00 EST. If you want the whole car, as is, it will cost you $2,500. If -- for reasons we can't fathom -- you want the car <em>without</em> the front bumper, it will cost you $2,350. If you want that same car, but don't want the wheels, well, that paperweight will cost you $2,000. Strike all three important components and the aftermarket stereo, and this fine piece of German engineering is yours for the bargain basement price of $1,300.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/953290/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/dscf1141_opt.jpg" alt="" /></a>The caption in the photo above is due to the fact that its owner, Ben, believes the car is "boss" and intimidates other basic transportation, like a Ford F-350. But don't make a play for it until you've seen the rear. Specifically, the plank of old growth timber that's posing as a bumper. According to that bumper, Ben's treasure is in heaven. Yours, according to Ben, is in Cincinnati. If you put $5 bucks in the tank, he'll let you test drive it, and if you swing by you can shake his hand. Now that's boss. <em>Thanks for the tip, Carlos!</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01">craigslist audi a4 avant 01</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a41_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a42_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a43_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a44_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a45_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/car/776572833.html">craigslist</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/31/craigslist-find-of-the-day-slightly-used-audi-a4-avant-with-or/">Craigslist Find of the Day: "Boss" Audi A4 Avant</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 14:58:00 EST. <p>If a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/10/ebay-find-of-the-day-porsche-959/">Porsche 959</a> is just too commonplace or not quite raw enough to satisfy your primal rally-car lust, how about a Ford RS 200 Evolution? Where as the German vehicle was much like a well-dressed triathlete with social skills, Ford's entry into the Group B madness of the 1980s had a personality more along the lines of a serial killer. </p>
<p>Cosworth was put in charge of squeezing serious power from the turbocharged 2.1L four-banger, and it succeeded to the tune of something in the neighborhood of 650 HP in the Evolution models. Combine that with the weight distribution afforded by a front-mounted transmission (odd for a mid-engined AWD car), and the RS 200 Evo could supposedly scratch its way to 60 MPH in just over two seconds. The distinctive bodywork was designed by Ghia, while a significant number of parts came from the Ford of Europe parts bin. </p>
<p>200 of the vehicles were originally built, with 24 later receiving the conversion to Evolution status. In other words, if something like this strikes your fancy, we'd suggest not passing up the chance. </p>
