We're in the heart of General Motors' downtown Detroit headquarters for a press conference tied to the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet, and Chris Perry, the brand's Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy, has just confirmed a new TrailBlazer SUV. To be based on the company's new global mid-size Colorado pickup, the vehicle will be unveiled November 10 at the Dubai Motor Show.

Chevrolet officials have not yet offered word on where this vehicle will be built or in which markets it will be available, but given that the Colorado has recently been confirmed for the U.S., we wouldn't be surprised to see a new TrailBlazer once again plying America's roads.

Earlier this year, we received spy photos and a video of a new mid-size General Motors SUV testing near the automaker's headquarters, meaning development of the Colorado-based TrailBlazer could already be well under way.

UPDATE: General Motors has released an official teaser image (above) as well as a press release, available after the jump. The automaker confirms that the 2013 TrailBlazer will first go on sale in Thailand beginning in early 2012.

Chris Perry, GM marketingThe constant churn at General Motors' U.S. marketing organization continues with the hiring of former Hyundai marketing vice president, Chris Perry (right), to run marketing for the Chevrolet brand. Perry follows former top Hyundai marketing chief Joel Ewanick over to GM just five months after replacing him as the head of marketing at the Korean automaker. Perry is the fourth marketing executive chosen to run Chevrolet in the past 13 months.

Perry, 50, who spent 10 years at Hyundai in various positions, has left the Korean automaker effective immediately. Hyundai isn't yet prepared to name a successor to Perry, though we expect to hear something in the next couple weeks. Ewanick sounds pretty excited to have Perry working for him again, saying in the post-jump press release that Perry has a "unique ability to integrate strategic and creative marketing activities across all communications disciplines to reconnect consumers to the Chevrolet brand."

With Perry entering the fold at Chevy, someone had to move out, and that person is Jim Campbell. But while Campbell didn't get much of a chance at Chevy, he may have gotten a far more exciting job as he has been named vice president of GM's performance vehicles and motorsports unit. That doesn't sound like a demotion - or a bad gig - in our estimation.

Chris Perry has some big shoes to fill in his new job. Hyundai has named Perry to replace Joel Ewanick as its vice-president of marketing. Ewanick, who left Hyundai in March for a short stay in the same position at Nissan, recently was appointed to that role at General Motors.

Ewanick is credited with many of the particularly creative initiatives that have boosted Hyundai's market share in the past several years, including last year's assurance program, in which the automaker committed to making payments for laid off customers.

Perry has been with Hyundai for ten years and since 2007 has been director of marketing communications. In that role, he's been involved in developing the aforementioned award-winning programs, so things shouldn't shake up too much. Perry will report to CEO John Krafcik
